신규간호사의 수면 적응 경험 (Adaptation Experience of Sleep in New Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study is a qualitative research to identify new nurses' adaptation experience to sleep changes. Method: Grounded theory methodology was utilized. Participants were 10 new nurses from one university hospital. The information was collected and analyzed using the grounded theory of Corbin and Strauss'(2008). Results: Through constant comparative analysis, central phenomenon was identified as 'Shaky daily life due to the sleep change'. A core category emerged as 'In the shaky daily life, go grab my position', Causal conditions were 'Heaviness in shift work', 'Not released after getting off work', and 'Body and mind are exhausted'. Context were 'An environment that does not tolerate mistakes' and 'Clogged breathing due to worries'. Intervening factors were 'Support of colleagues', 'Recovery volition in restoration of altered relationships due to sleep'. Action/Interaction Strategies were 'To strive for a good sleep', 'Require a reasonable duty schedule' and 'Find a breakthrough'. Consequences were 'Become the master of shaky daily life' and 'Accepting the life of a nurse'. Conclusion: New nurses experience sleep patterns changes from the hospital shift system. but throughout the process of adaptation, came to accept sleep disorder as part of the life of a nurse.

  • This paper is a basic study of college of engineering freshmen's adaptation to college life, and the relationship between sub-variables of academic self-efficacy, learning immersion, and academic curiosity is analyzed. And based on the results, a plan to support new students of the College of engineering is suggested.

산후조리와 폐경기 적응이 중년여성의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Sanhujori and Menopausal Adaptation on Health-related QOL in Middle-aged Women)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of menopausal adaptation and Sanhujori (Korean traditional postnatal care) on the Health-related quality of life in middle-aged women. Methods: Women aged from 45 to 60 completed questionnaires consisting of SF-36 ver. 2 and menopausal adaptation scale between July to Aug, 2013. Two hundred and eighteen participants' data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Results: Physical health ($69.5{\pm}15.1$) was better than mental health ($68.8{\pm}17.1$), and bodily pain and social functioning were the same results as 2009 general U.S. population, with the sub-variables of quality of life being lower. Menopausal adaptation was at moderate level, and correlation of its sub-variables with quality of life were significant: fatigue (r=.60, p<.001), accomplishing feeling (r=.55, p<.001), confidence (r=.54, p<.001), dryness (r=.51, p<.001), flush (r=.38, p<.001), dominance (r=-.36, p<.001), stability (r=.26, p<.001). Fatigue, confidence, stability, period of sanhujori, and dryness revealed as influencing quality of life, while the total variation explained by these components was at 52%. Conclusion: To improve quality of life of middle aged women, health care providers need to provide nursing intervention to relieve fatigue and dryness; and address psychosocial concerns with developing nursing strategies to improve stability and confidence. For post-partum women, enough periods of sanhujori needs to be recommended.

임상실습교육 전 간호대학생의 전공만족도, 대학생활 적응 및 간호사 이미지의 관계 (The Relationship between Nursing College Student's Major Satisfaction, Adjustment to College Life and Nurse's Image Nursing Students before Clinical Practical Education)

  • Purpose : This study was conducted to check the effect on nursing college students' major satisfaction, adjustment to college life and nurse's image nursing students before clinical practical education. Methods : The study surveyed 209 college students majoring in nursing science in the city of B for the period of April through May 2022. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0 to determine the frequency, percentage ratio, average, and standard deviation. Statistical analyses included the t-test, analysis of variance, pearson's correlation coefficients. Results : As a result of this study, the average degree of satisfaction with majors was 3.88±.50, the average of college life adaptation was 3.26±.47, and the average of the nurse image was 3.90±.51. The major satisfaction according to the general characteristics of the study subjects showed a statistically significant difference in the motive for choosing a department (F=3.70, p=.003) and the thought of a nursing job (F=2.95, p=.004). The adjustment to college life according to the general characteristics of the study subjects showed a statistically significant difference in grade (F=3.50, p=.001), department selection motivation (F=2.69, p=.022) showed a statistically significant difference. The nurse image showed a statistically significant difference in residence type (F=6.00, p=.001) and nursing job thinking (F=2.11, p=.036). The correlation between the variables of the study subjects showed that major satisfaction was found to have a positive correlation with adjustment college life (r=.51, p<.001) and nurse image (r=.54, p<.001). It was found that adjustment college life had a positive correlation with the nurse image (r=.32, p<.001). Conclusion : The higher the degree of satisfaction with the major of nursing students prior to clinical practice education, the higher the degree of adaptation to college life. It is need to intervention studies that can improve the image of positive nursing.

대학생의 신체활동량에 따른 전공만족도와 대학생활적응과의 관계 (The relationship between major satisfaction and adjustment following physical activity level of university students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 신체활동량에 따른 전공만족도와 대학생활적응과의 관계를 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 따라서 대학생 201명의 데이터를 확보하고, SPSS 22.0프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계분석, 신뢰도분석, 일원변량분석, 상관분석, 사후검증으로는 Tukey방법을 실시하였다. 분석결과는 첫째, 신체활동량에 따른 대학생의 전공만족도는 중강도신체활동집단과 고강도신체활동집단이 저강도신체활동집단 보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다(p<.05). 둘째, 신체활동량에 따른 대학생활적응은 고강도 신체활동집단이 중강도신체활동집단과 저강도신체활동집단보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다(p<.05). 마지막으로 대학생의 신체활동량, 전공만족도, 대학생활적응의 관계를 살펴본 결과 남학생의 경우 신체활동량과 전공만족도(일반만족), 대학생활적응(정서적응)에서 정적상관관계가 있고, 여학생의 경우 신체활동량과 대학생활적응(사회적응)에서 정적상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p<.05). 본 연구에서는 대학생의 신체활동량은 전공만족도와 대학생활적응과 관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 결론을 토대로 신체활동을 통해 대학생의 대학생활 관리를 도울 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

진로결정상태 유형에 따른 진로미결정 이유, 진로성숙도와 대학적응 (Reasons for Career Indecisiveness, Career Maturity and College Adaptation Using a Typology of Career Decision Status)

  • The main purpose of this study was to identify a typology of career decision status by using the quadrants formed by the decidedness and comfort scale and to examine the differences in career maturity and college adaptation using that typology. We gathered data from a total of 789(237 male, 552 female) students from a middle-sized university in Jollanam-do completed a Career Decision Profile(CDP), a Career Maturity Inventory(CMI) and the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire(SACQ). We found that 29.5% of students were categorized as decided-comfortable, 36.4% were decided-uncomfortable, 6.9% were undecided-comfortable, and 27.3% were undecided-uncomfortable. ANOVA indicated that there were significant differences in the reasons dimension of COP, career maturity and college adaptation as a function of career decision status categories. In general, decided-comfortable students showed the highest scores while undecided-uncomfortable students showed the lowest scores in all scales. Only in the Career Choice Importance scale did undecided-comfortable students showed the lowest scores.

한의과대학 예과생의 진로관련 특성에 관한 연구 (Career-related characteristics of premedical students in Korean Medicine college)

  • Objectives : This study was aimed at exploring career-related characteristics of premedical students in Korean Medicine college and those relationships with career development readiness and vocational value. Methods : A total of 140 premedical students participated in the survey. The questionnaire consisted of demographic characteristics and career-related characteristics such as motive for career choice, specialty preference after college graduation, and school life adaptation. Also they responded in the web-survey of career development readiness inventory and vocational value inventory developed by Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training. Eight items of motive for career choice were collected from the pilot study from 70 premedical students. Results : 'Job stability' was the top motive for career choice(25.5%). The average college life adaptation score was relatively low(13.7) : higher in male(14.3) and the early career decision group(14.2) than female (12.9) and late decision group(12.9), which was statistically significant(p=0.019 and p=0.036, respectively) in the subgroup analyses. The result of career development readiness inventory showed that 'self-knowledge' (79.3) and 'confidence on career decision' (78.6) were the two highest, which is similar to the result of the vocational value inventory ('fulfilling abilities' and 'self-improvement'). More characteristics were also described. Conclusions : The results showed that Korean Medicine premedical students have high vocational identity. This study suggested that more specified studies for identifying career-related characteristics for Korean Medical students should be conducted in order to design systematic and professional medical education programs.

요양원 입소노인의 일상생활 적응경험 (A Phenomenological Study on the Adaptation Experience on Nursing Home Admission among Senior Patients)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to explore the constituents and structure of adaptation experiences in their everyday life among senior patients of a nursing home in order to provide nursing intervention data for the satisfaction and the improvement of life of senior patients by appreciating the nature of their adaptational experience. Methods: The participants were five female and one male senior patients who were 65-years old or older and admitted at a nursing home in a metropolitan city. The interview data were analyzed by the Giorgi's phenomenological analysis method. Results: As the results of analysis, the following three constituents have been found out: retrospective focus based on the meaning of admission, expanding a view and facing up to the reality, reconstructing views about the meaning of life and the world. Conclusion: With the increasing number of senior in facilities, nurses not only play a key role in caring for seniors but also in managing their maladaptation. Thus, it is considered that the results obtained from the this study provide valuable information for both the senior patients and their families as well as for the nurses, by presenting the data about senior patients' adaptational experiences of nursing home admission.

중환자실 간호사의 임상 적응 경험 (Experience of Clinical Adaptation among Nurses in Intensive Care Unit)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to explore and describe intensive care unit (ICU) nurses' experience of clinical adaptation. Methods : The participants were 14 ICU nurses with more than two years of working experience in the ICU. Data were collected through in-depth individual interviews conducted between July and October 2021. Theoretical sampling was used to the point of theoretical saturation. Data were analyzed using the Strauss and Corbin method. Results : A total of 79 concepts, 37 subcategories, and 16 categories were identified through open coding. Axial coding based on the paradigm model revealed that the central phenomenon was "The harsh adversity faced in the nursing field where life and death are determined" and the core category was "Enduring the adversity of caring for critically ill patients and achieving self-realization." ICU nurses' clinical adaptation process was explained in five phases: "confrontation period," "turbulent period," "seeking period," "struggling period," and "stabilized period." The five phases that affect interventional conditions were "Support from reliable people," "Recognition of administrative and financial support." Conclusion : This study provided novel insights for a comprehensive understanding of ICU nurses' clinical adaptation processes. Furthermore, the findings are expected to be used as basic data to develop multifaceted strategies to help ICU nurses' adaptation to critical care.

조리 실습 시설의 만족 수준과 사전 교육 경험에 따른 조리전공 대학생의 대학 생활 적응도 - 충청도에 위치한 대학을 중심으로 - (Culinary Art Students' Adaptation to College Life according to Their Satisfaction with a Culinary Laboratory and Their Educational Experience - Focus on the Universities in Chungcheong Province -)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 조리전공자의 조리 실습 시설에 대한 만족도와 입학 전 교육 경험에 따른 대학 생활 적응의 관계를 조사하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하고자 충청권에 위치한 대학교 3곳의 조리전공자를 대상으로 총 200명을 표본으로 수집하였으며, 이 중 191부를 분석하였다. 이에 대한 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구통계학적 특성 중 남학생과 고학년 전공자, 일반계 고등학교 졸업자의 대학 생활 적응도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 입학 전 교육 경험이 없는 집단이 교육 경험이 있는 집단에 비해 대학 생활 적응도가 부분적으로 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 조리 실습 시설의 만족 수준이 높은 집단이 만족 수준이 낮은 집단보다 대학 생활 적응도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 상호작용 효과의 분석결과는 조리 실습 시설 만족도가 높은 집단의 경우 사전 교육 경험이 없는 집단의 대학 애착 정도와 신체적 적응도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 사전 교육 경험이 있는 집단의 경우 정서적 적응 및 사회적 적응이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 조리 실습 시설 만족도가 낮은 집단의 경우, 사전 교육 경험이 없는 집단의 대학 애착 정도만이 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 사전 교육 경험이 있는 집단의 사회적 적응, 정서적 적응, 신체적 적응도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 미래 지향적 교수-학습이 원만하게 수행될 수 있도록 전공자의 만족도가 높고 그 기능을 충분히 다할 수 있는 새로운 조리 교육 환경이 계획되어야할 것이다.
