Let E be a free product of a finite number of cyclic groups, and S a normal subgroup of E such that $$E/S{\sim_=}G$$ is finite. For a prime p, $\hat{S}=S/S^{\prime}S^p$ may be regarded as an $F_pG$-module via conjugation in E. The aim of this article is to prove that $\hat{S}$ is decomposable into two indecomposable modules for finite elementary abelian p-groups G.

We study free actions of finite abelian groups on 3­dimensional nilmanifolds. By the works of Bieberbach and Waldhausen, this classification problem is reduced to classifying all normal nilpotent subgroups of almost Bieberbach groups of finite index, up to affine conjugacy. All such actions are completely classified.

Approximate fibrations form a useful class of maps. By definition fibrators provide instant detection of maps in this class, and PL fibrators do the same in the PL category. We show that every closed s-hopfian t-aspherical manifold N with sparsely Abelian, hopfian fundamental group and X(N) $\neq$ 0 is a codimension-(t + 1) PL fibrator.

In the present paper we describe a class of Gorenstein, finite and at morphism ${\varrho}$: $X{\rightarrow}Y$ of degree 6 of algebraic varieties, called Anglo-American covers. We prove a general Bertini theorem for them and we give some evidence that the cover ${\varrho}$: $A{\rightarrow}\mathbb{P}_k^2$ associated general (1, 3)-polarized abelian surface is Anglo-American.

We in this note study a ring theoretic property which unifies Armendariz and IFP. We call this new concept INFP. We first show that idempotents and nilpotents are connected by the Abelian ring property. Next the structure of INFP rings is studied in relation to several sorts of algebraic systems.

In this paper we provide a rigorous proof for the fact that there are exactly 8 connected Alexander quandles of order $2^5$ by combining properties of fixed point free automorphisms of finite abelian 2-groups and the classification of conjugacy classes of GL(5, 2). Furthermore we verify that six of the eight associated Alexander modules are simple, whereas the other two are semisimple.

It is proved that if G is a direct sum of countable abelian $p$-groups and R is a special selected commutative unitary highly-generated ring of prime characteristic $p$, which ring is more general than the weakly perfect one, then the group of all normed units V (RG) modulo G, that is V (RG)=G, is a direct sum of countable groups as well. This strengthens a result due to W. May, published in (Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., 1979), that treats the same question but over a perfect ring.

We estimate the stable rank of twisted crossed products of $C^{*}-algebras$ by topological Abelian groups. As an application we estimate the stable rank of twisted crossed products of $C^{*}-algebras$ by solvable Lie groups. In particular, we obtain the stable rank estimate of twisted group $C^{*}-algebras$ of solvable Lie groups by the (reduced) dimension and (generalized) rank of groups.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the finite extension of weighted word L-delta groups. The paper revealed that a finite extension of a weighted word L-delta group is a weighted word L-delta group, and an abelian group, in addition, is a weighted word L-delta group and simultaneously a word L-delta group.

In this paper, we study two functional equations with two unknown functions from an Abelian group into a commutative ring without zero divisors. The two equations are generalizations of Swiatak's functional equations with an involution. We determine the general solutions of the two functional equations and the properties of the general solutions of the two functional equations under three different hypotheses, respectively. For one of the functional equations, we establish the Hyers-Ulam stability in the case that the unknown functions are complex valued.
