In the first activity, there are two steps: 'listening and observation of bible storytelling' and 'exploration and meditation.' In the second activity, there are also two steps: 'application and action,' and 'sharing in communities.' After the suggestion, this study proposes the application plan for the paradigm. They are 'the utilization of various media and the merit of interaction,' healing effectiveness in an individual and a community,' 'building expertises in both letter writing and Christian education(Divinity),' 'building expertises in both letter writing and media literacy,' and 'expanded application toward diverse patterns of writing.'

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of reading framework on writing for reflection when applied to inquiry-based Science Writing Heuristic approach. This study was conducted with 67 3rd grade middle school students. Thirty-two out of 67 students were assigned to R-SWH (Reading framework-Science Writing Heuristic) group while the other 35 students were assigned to SWH (Science Writing Heuristic) group. The R-SWH group has consistently used reading framework which the SWH group has not used when the inquiry-based science writing heuristic approach were carried out. The result of this study indicated that the R-SWH group showed a higher proportion of students who made writing for reflection by learning from reading materials than the SWH group. The R-SWH group used reading materials in order to understand the idea comprehensively and concept related to the topic the most, while the SWH group also used them for the same purpose as the R-SWH group but the ratio was less than the R-SWH group. In addition, as the learning activity has progressed, the R-SWH group showed that the proportion of students who transferred the science concept from reading materials into writing for reflection and the number of transferred concepts were higher than those of the SWH group. Therefore, the reading framework applied to inquiry-based science writing heuristic approach can facilitate a meaningful activity on reading and writing as a scaffolding to develop conceptual understanding.

Student's drawing results were also compared to teacher's guide and supplementary books demanding. As a result, drawing activities of supplementary book were reached to 42.8% of all activities. Activity types were divided to writing, drawing, writing and drawing and writing or drawing activities. Writing and drawing activity type was 44.4%, and drawing activity was 37.8%. The level of teacher's guide were higher than normal needs. But answer examples and learning levels of teacher's guide were appropriate for curriculum levels. The students drawing activities were matched to requirements of the teacher's guide to 72.3% in grade 3 level and 64.5% in 4th grade level. • The purpose of this study was to develop instructional strategy for newspaper-based science writing and to examine the effect of its application. The target unit was 'change of weather' and 'a variety of gas' in the sixth grade of elementary school, and the teaching strategy was composed of 3 stages-writing including realistic, interpretative and comprehensive writing. The result of applying this strategy into actual classrooms was as follows. First, it was proven that the science writing strategy using newspaper articles actually helped improving science process skills of learners, in particular, integrated process skills. Second, this strategy for science writing changed the scientific attitude of learners positively. While they read the newspaper articles, their thinking became more elaborate and systemized, which seemed to serve to foster their openness, criticism, and perseverance. Third, the science writing strategy did not contribute to the improvement of learners' science study achievement. To improve the understanding of scientific concepts and principles of learners, it is needed that teaching program combines with argument-based activity organically. The above-mentioned findings show that this instructional strategy using newspaper articles can be applicable as one of effective methods in science writing.
