As contemplative education has been increasingly incorporated in schools in the US, this study aims to review literature on contemplative education for teachers and students in the US and to explore pedagogical meanings of meditation. I focus my analysis on research journals that include teacher and/or student participants incorporating mindfulness in school settings. I searched "mindfulness" and "education" through Web of Science and explored organizations or associations related to contemplative practices and education. I then analyzed the subjects on research purpose, research methods, and results. In the results, quantitative research on teachers' stress reduction dominated the research on contemplative education and quantitative research on teachers' efficacy and effectiveness with mindfulness followed. Contemplative research for students focused on their stress reduction and cognitive, social, and emotional development. Contemplative education should be involved in educational settings as pedagogical contents for improving teaching and learning. Contemplative education for students should aim to conduct whole-person education and should incorporate a variety of teaching skills and materials using different contemplative practices, including mindfulness, concentration, compassion, yoga, etc. Teachers' support for and positive relationships with their students through mindfulness and compassion meditation is the most important key to encourage students' learning in education.

This study analyzed third graders' understanding on the part-whole fraction concept in both the continuous and the discrete contexts. A set of problems were developed as an equivalent form to compare and contrast students' understanding of fraction in the two contexts. Unexpectedly, the results of this study showed that students' performance in the continuous contexts was slightly lower than their performance in the discrete contexts. Students tended to use different strategies depending on the contexts and they had difficulties in applying what they knew in the new contexts. On the basis of the detailed analyses about students' difficulties and their sources, this paper provides information on how to construct curricular materials and how to teach the basic concepts related to the part-whole fraction.

The propose of this study was to develop the new pre-parent education program for couples in i=transition to parenthood. This program was consisted three process, total eight sessions. The first process(the basic process) has two sessions. This process was designed to understand the whole parenthood, and to cope the role strain in early parenting period. The second process has three sessions, designed to enrich the marital relationship before the baby was born. And the Third process(parent-child process) has three sessions, too. Especially in last sessions, parent can exercise infant caring, and adapt fetus to their family member.

This study investigated elementary teachers' subject matter knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge of fractions. The subject for data collection were 12 in-service elementary teachers and data were collected through written test problems. The finding imply that most elementary teachers understand fraction construct as part-whole, show low level of understanding of operator, ratio, and measurement constructions and word problem posing, using models, and developing the algorithms to divide fractions. The research results indicates that experienced teachers possess poor knowledge of fractions against novice teachers.

A problem of estimating the means of Poisson populations using independent samples is considered. The total loss is the sum of component, normalized squared error losses. An empirical Bayes estimator is derived and compared, by Monte Carlo methods, with existing estimators which are proposed as improving estimators upon the usual one. Monte Carlo results show that the performance of the derived estimator is satisfactory over the whole parameter space.

In this paper we compared and analyzed the Korean and German mathematics textbooks for the middle school students. For the research we investigated only the area of algebra, which is consisted of the three sections-section of numbers and arithmetic operations, section of letters and expressions, and section of rules and functions. We expect that this paper would contribute on the development of the whole area in our nation's mathematical educations, including the organization and exploitation of the curriculums for the middle school students.

As the social change has been occured by industrialization and urbanization, making valuable family culture has come to be a social task. The development of family culture education program is required to create future - oriented family culture. This study aims at searching for the direction of family culture education program in Korea development to sere creating desirable family culture. For this study the concepts of family culture and family culture education were defined and the characteristics and problems of Korean family culture were discussed. Based on these discussion, the direction of family culture educational program was proposed. The directions of Korean family culture education program were suggested promotion communitarian consciousness, balancing between traditional and modern value, creating democratization among generations and genders, eqyipping with constructive communication channel, and encouraging autonomy and creativity. To work out these directions, appropriate and educational model should be mobilized to incilude whole family.

Culture is like living organisms based on local and history. Therefore, we don't understand the whole phase of the culture if we neglect the information of the time and space. Even though the woollen-yarn-making process as a whole has received much attention from customers in recent years, but yet there exist many problems to improve quality, productivity, and working environment in a small-medium woollen-yarn manufacture. To achieve the aim for improvement of quality and productivity, we have performed a period of education and training for workers. And thus this paper reports a study carried out them in the company located in near Pusan. Also, this paper describes a study how has a small-medium company introduced the education for the workers by authors. Among the possible outcome of this study is that the company does encounter considerable difficulties in the education and training. But to improve the quality and productivity, we assert that the company has to overcome these courses. We all recognize that the employer has been prepared for education and training to improve the employees' working conditions for a long time.
