대기온도, 증발기 누출, 엔진오일 및 엔진부하에 따른 LPG 차량의 연비실험에 관한 연구 (Experimental Study on Fuel Consumptions of LPG Vehicle Depending on the Atmospheric Temperature, Vaporizer Gas Leakage, Engine Oil and Engine Loads)

  • 본 논문에서는 LPG 차량의 연비효과에 미치는 대기온도, 증발기의 가스누출, 엔진오일의 점도, 엔진의 부하조건을 실험적으로 고찰하고자 한다. 연비에 대한 시험결과에 의하면, 엔진의 온도가 상승할수록 연비효과도 함께 점차 높아지고 있다. 대기온도가 $24.2^{\circ}C$일 때의 연비는 $1^{\circ}C$일 때보다 13.6% 정도 높게 나타난 것을 알 수 있다. LP가스 누출이 없는 증발기의 연비는 가스누출이 있는 경우에 비해 5.3%나 좋아지는 것으로 확인되었다. 반면에 엔진오일을 새로 교환한 경우의 연비는 9,500km를 주행한 오일에 비해 1.1% 정도 향상된 것으로 나타났으며, 이것은 대기온도나 증발기의 누설조건에 비해 상대적으로 낮은 영향을 미치는 것으로 관찰되었다. 연비에 더 많은 영향을 미치는 요소는 급제동, 급출발, 급가속과 같은 운전조건으로 판단된다. 연비시험 결과에 의하면, 정상출발은 급출발에 비해 32.3%나 연비가 향상되었고, 급가속은 급출발보다 10.8%나 우수한 연비조건을 보여주고 있다. 또한, 급제동은 급출발보다 18.3%나 우수한 연비상태를 나타내고 있다. 결국 비정상적인 주행조건은 정상적인 운전패턴에 비해 연비가 나쁜 것으로 나타났으므로, 연비를 높이기 위해서는 차량의 주행조건을 정상상태로 유지하는 것이 대단히 중요함을 알 수 있다.

  • As the management of fuel efficiency becomes globally reinforced in attempts to find an environment-friendly vehicle that will operate against global warming, the interest in and the demand for the type of vehicle with a high-efficiency diesel engine using light oil. However, it also emits a greater amount of PM (particulate matter) and NOx than emissions from vehicles using other types of fuels. Therefore, the DME (Dimethyl Ether), an oxygen containing fuel draws attention as an alternative fuel for light oil that can be used for diesel engines since it generates very little smoke. But to develop and compare performance of an electric controlled common-rail DME engine, engine tests requires optimized injection conditions at required engine RPM and engine torque. These injection conditions cannot be set freely and the data configuration through the experimentally repeated application requires much time as well as a significant amount of errors and effort. The object of this study is to configure the basic injection map using the results of the DME engine experiments performed so far. For this, in this study, the functionalization of the required equations were performed along with the basic review of the factors that had influence on the data map. Through this, the information on the injection pressure, injection amount, injection duration, injection timing, etc. under certain operation condition could be obtained.

차량 엔진룸내 부품 냉각용 덕트 개발을 위한 실험 (Experiment for Duct Development to Cool Components in Vehicle Engine Room)

  • 자동차 엔진룸내 부품의 내구성 향상을 위하여 냉각 가능성을 판단하고자 발전기, 배터리, ECU 및 파워스틸 오일 등 4가지 부품을 목표로 흡입공기를 사용한 냉각용 덕트를 설치하여 부품에 대한 공랭효과를 향상시키기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 전반적으로 부품 온도가 저감되었으며 감소된 온도 차이는 발전기, ECU, 파워스틸 오일 및 배터리 순으로 크게 나타났다. 이러한 부품에 따른 온도 차이를 개선하기 위해서는 차후에 덕트 내부에 대한 유동해석을 통한 최적화 설계가 필요하다고 판단된다.

차량용 에어클리너의 미세입자 제거특성 (Fine Particle Removal by a Vehicle Air Cleaner)

  • There is a growing interest to develop an eco-friendly air cleaner with high performance through a remanufacturing process. Two kinds of polyurethane filter media, a coarse (Filter-A) and a fine filter media (Filer-B), are used in this study to protect a vehicle engine from airborne particles. In order to improve the collection performance of the filters (Filter-A, Filter-B), an oil coating technology on the filter surface was introduced. As a result, inertial force is a dominant collection mechanism for a dry filter media, so that collection efficiency increases with increasing filtration velocity. However, intra-structure change of an oil-coated filter media influences on the collection mechanism, which shows a non-linear collection efficiency curve in terms of filtration velocity. The result shows that the developed filter media are eco-friendly and effective to protect a vehicle engine from airborne particles especially at low filtration velocity.

SEOUL-10 모드에서 바이오디젤유 (5%) 적용시 커먼레일 디젤기관의 배기배출물 및 내구 특성 (Characteristics of Durability and Emission with Biodiesel Fuel (5%) in a Common Rail Direct Injection Diesel Engine at SEOUL-10 Mode)

  • A CRDI diesel engine used to commercial vehicle was fueled with diesel fuel and 5% biodiesel blended fuel (BDF 5%) and tested at the Seoul-10 mode for 150 hours. Engine dynamometer testing was completed at regularly scheduled intervals to monitor the engine performance and exhaust emissions. To check the engine parts (valve, injector), the engine was inspected after 150 hours running test. It was concluded that there was no unusual deterioration of the engine, or the changes in engine power (below 2.6%), smoke (below 6.2%), NOx (below 2%) and durability characteristics in spite of operation of 150 hours run with BDF 5%. The difference of kinetic viscosity for engine oil (before and after durability testing) was below 0.36%

연비 개선 및 CO2 저감을 위한 승용디젤 차량의 클러치타입 워터펌프 적용에 따른 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Clutch Type Water Pump of Diesel Passenger Vehicle for Reducing Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emission)

  • A typical cooling system of an engine relies on a water pump that circulates the coolant through the system. The pump is typically driven by the crankshaft through a mechanical link with engine starting. In order to reduce the friction and warm-up time of an engine, the clutch-type water pump (CWP) was applied in 2.0 liter diesel vehicle. The clutch-type water pump can force cooling water to supply into an engine by the operation of an electromagnetic clutch equipped as the inner part of pump system. The onset of CWP is decided by temperature of cooling water and engine oil. And, the control logic for an optimal operation of the clutch-type water pump was developed and applied in engine and vehicle tests. In this study, the warm-up time was measured with the conventional water pump and clutch-type water pump in engine tests. And the emission and the fuel consumption were evaluated under NEDC mode in vehicle tests. Also, tests were carried out for the various temperature conditions starting the operation of CWP. From the results of the study, the application of CWP can improve the fuel consumption and $CO_2$ reduction by about 3%.

  • 최근 유사석유제품 판매와 정량주유를 하지 않는 주유소로 인해 많은 운전자들이 피해를 입고 있고, 이러한 현상들이 점점 증가하여 앞으로 그 피해는 더 늘어날 전망이다. 유사석유제품을 사용함으로써 발생하는 피해는 연료계통의 윤활작용 및 자가 청정기능 문제, 부품의 조기 노후화 및 연료계통의 불순물 누적, 정품 휘발유와의 연소속도 차이로 인한 엔진의 부담 가중, 배기가스의 유독성물질 배출, 엔진오일과 확인되지 않은 화학적 반응 등이 발생하게 되는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 피해를 예방하기 위해 OBD-II 프로토콜로 자동차의 주행 내부정보를 받아 유사석유제품과 정량주유를 측정하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 WinCe 기반의 개발보드를 이용하여 WiFi 통신을 지원하는 OBD-II 스캐너를 통해 주행 내부정보를 받아와서 현재 차량의 유사석유제품판별 시스템과 정량주유 시스템을 구현하였다.

Rotordynamic Performance Measurements of An Oil-Free Turbocharger Supported on Gas Foil Bearings and Their Comparisons to Floating Ring Bearings

  • This paper presents the rotordynamic performance measurement of oil-free turbocharger (TC) supported on gas foil bearings (GFBs) for 2 liter class diesel vehicles and comparison to floating ring bearings (FRBs). Oil-free TC was designed and developed via the rotordynamic analyses using dynamic force coefficients from GFB analyses. The rotordynamics and performance of the oil-free TC was measured up to 85 krpm while being driven by a diesel vehicle engine, and compared to a commercial oil-lubricated TC supported on FRBs. The test results showed that the GFBs increased the rotor speed by ~ 20% at engine speeds of 1,500 rpm and 1,750 rpm, yielding the reduction of turbine input energy by more than 400 W. Incidentally, an external shock test on the oil-free TC casing was conducted at the rotor speed of 60 krpm, and showed a good capability of vibration damping due to the well-known dry friction mechanism of the GFBs.
