A solution for the course of the general deterministic epidemic model is obtained by elementary series expansion. This is valid over all times, and appears to hold accurate]y over a very wide range of population and threshould parameter values. This algorithm can be more efficient than either numerical or recursive procedures in terms of the number of operations required to evaluate a sequence of points along the course of the epidemic.
In this paper, we investigate the impact of channel estimation error on the D2D power control algorithm. In the previous work, D2D power control algorithm has been proposed under the assumption that the channel between the transmitter and the corresponding receiver is perfectly estimated. In reality, the channel estimation error is more often the case. The first question is that the power control algorithm designed for perfect channel estimation is still valid under the channel estimation error environment ? The second question is, if it is not valid, what could be the possible remedy for the channel estimation error ? In this paper, to answer the first question, we investigate the impact of the channel estimation error on the power control algorithm. We first review the D2D power control algorithm designed for perfect channel estimation. Then, we model the channel estimation error. Finally, we summarize the main results observed from the analysis of the simulation.
This paper considers one-sample and two-sample test for the logistic function by means of Kolmororov-Smirnov type statistics. The standard tables used for the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test are valid only when the function is completely specified; but they are not valid if the parameters of function are estimated from the sample. This note presents modified tables for the Kolmogorov-Sminov type staistic. These tables can be used to test the hypothesis that a sample comes from a logistic function when shape parameter $(\alpha)$ and location parameter $(\beta)$ must be estimated from the sample by the method of maximum likelihood. Monte Carlo method is employed to calculate the criticla values of the test. The tables of the critical values are provided.
Distributed Group Decision Support System (GDSS) is in the stage between exploration and implementation, there is not unified constructing model. As computer software and hardware, network technique develop, especially the development of object-oriented programming, distributed process, and artificial intelligence, this makes it possible the practical and valid implementation of distributed GDSS. With a view of emphasizing and solving process-supporting, this article discusses how to use the key technologies of network, distributed process, artificial intelligence and man-machine mutual interface, to implement more adaptable, more flexible, and more valid GDSS than before.
In this paper, we deal with a node weighted Steiner Ring Problem (SRP) arising from the deployment of Synchronous Optical Networks (SONET), a standard of transmission using optical fiber technology. The problem is to find a minimum weight cycle (ring) covering a subset of nodes in the network considering node and link weights. We have developed two mathematical models, one of which is stronger than the other in terms of LP bounds, whereas the number of constraints of the weaker one is polynomially bounded. In order to solve the problem optimally, we have developed some preprocessing rules and valid inequalities. We have also prescribed an effective heuristic procedure for providing tight upper bounds. Computational results show that the stronger model is better in terms of computation time, and valid inequalities and preprocessing rules are effective for solving the problem optimally.
In this paper, we present a frequency reassignment problem (FRP) arising from the reconfiguration of radio networks such as adding new base stations (BSs) and changing the number of frequencies assigned to BSs. For this problem, we develop an integer programming (IP) model that minimizes the sum of frequency reassignment cost and the cost for unsatisfied frequency demands, while avoiding interference among frequencies. To obtain tight lower bounds, we develop some valid inequalities and devise an objective function relaxation scheme. Also, we develop a simple but efficient heuristic procedure to solve large size problems. Computational results show that the developed valid inequalities are effective for improving lower bounds. Also, the proposed tabu search heuristic finds tight upper bounds with average optimality gap of 2.3%.
The major advantage of the short-term load forecasting technique using general exponential smoothing is high accuracy and operational simplicity, but it makes large forecasting error when the load changes repidly. The paper has presented new technique to improve those shortcomings, and according to forecasted the technique proved to be valid for two years. The structure of load model is time function which consists of daily-and temperature-deviation component. The average of standard percentage erro in daily forecasting for two years was 2.02%, and this forecasting technique has improved standard erro by 0.46%. As relative coefficient for daily and seasonal forecasting is 0.95 or more, this technique proved to be valid.
In this paper, we suggest the tracking method of moving multi-objects in maritime environments. The image acquisition is conducted using IR(InfraRed) camera sensors on an airborne platform. Under the circumstance of maritime, the qualities of IR images can be significantly degraded due to the clutter influence, which directly gives rise to a tracking loss problem. In order to reduce the effects from the clutters, we introduce a technical approach under Man-In-The-Loop(MITL) system for enhancing the tracking performance. To demonstrate the robustness of the proposed approach based on VTG(Valid Tracking Gate), the simulations are conducted utilizing the airborne IR video sequences: Then, the tracking performances are compared with the existing Kalman Filter tracking techniques.
For many industrial processes there are good static models used for process design and steady state operation. By using system identification techniques, it is possible to obtain black-box models with reasonable complexity that describe the system well in specific operating conditions [1]. But black-box models using inductive modeling(IM) is not suitable for model based control because they are only valid for specific operating conditions. Thus we need to use deductive modeling(DM) for a wide operating range. Furthermore, deductive modeling is several merits: First, the model is possible to be modularized. Second, we can increase and decrease the model complexity. Finally, we are able to use model for plant design. Power plant must be able to operate well at dramatic load change and consider safety and efficiency. This paper proposes a simplified nonlinear model of an industrial boiler, one of component parts of a power plant, by DM method and applies optimal control to the model.
This paper deals with the general mathmatical model of the CSI-fed induction motor system. The inverter is represented by a switching function matrix which is combined with the dg model of an induction motor. Complete system model is given by a set of differential equations in a closed form, which inherently includes the harmonic effects of the converter and the inverter. The model is valid in evaluating both the transient and steady state responses, while the more simple analytical model can be derived from the general model, in a steady state. With the model proposed, the digital simulation is carried out on a 10KVA CSI-induction motor system and the simulation results show good agreements with experimental ones.
