Service Realization of WAVE based Vehicular Communication Systems in the Testbed (테스트베드상에서 WAVE기반 차량통신 시스템의 서비스 구현)

  • Vehicular communication is one of representative convergence technology which combines information technology and vehicle industry. Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) technology is vehicular communication standard which is widely used in the world. In this paper, we introduce service realization of WAVE based vehicular communication systems in the practical testbed. We review the overall WAVE based systems in brief and introduce the testbed. Then, we investigate various applications using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Based on realization of systems, we discuss practical implementation issues and the convergence area of WAVE systems.

KINK WAVE SOLUTIONS TO KDV-BURGERS EQUATION WITH FORCING TERM

  • In this paper, we used modified tanh-coth method, combined with Riccati equation and secant hyperbolic ansatz to construct abundantly many real and complex exact travelling wave solutions to KdV-Burgers (KdVB) equation with forcing term. The real part is the sum of the shock wave solution of a Burgers equation and the solitary wave solution of a KdV equation with forcing term, while the imaginary part is the product of a shock wave solution of Burgers with a solitary wave travelling solution of KdV equation. The method gives more solutions than the previous methods.

Determination of Fluoroquinolone Antibacterial Agents by Square Wave Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetry (네모파 흡착 벗김 전압전류법에 의한 플루오로퀴놀론 계 항생제의 검출)

  • Electrochemical behavior of fluoroquinolone antibacterial agents on carbon paste electrode (CPE) were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and square wave adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The fluoroquinolone antibacterial agents tested in this study were Enrofloxacin (ENR), Norfloxacin (NOR), Ciprofloxacin (CIP), Ofloxacin (OFL) and Levofloxacin (LEV). In acetate buffer at pH 4.5, the oxidation peak potentials of the fluoroquinolone antibacterial agents of ENR, NOR, CIP, OFL, and LEV were 0.952 V, 1.052 V, 1.055 V, 0.983 V, and 0.990 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), respectively. And their oxidation peak currents from square wave adsorptive stripping voltammograms are proportional to the concentration of each antibacterial agent over the range from $0.2\;{\mu}M$ to $1\;{\mu}M$.

The low conversion loss and low LO power V-band MIMIC Up-mixer (낮은 LO 입력 및 변환손실 특성을 갖는 V-band MIMIC Up-mixer)

  • In this paper, we present MIMIC(Millimeter-wave Monolithic Integrated Circuit) up-mixer with low conversion loss and low LO power for the V-band transmitter applications. The up-mixer was successfully integrated by using 0.1 ㎛ GaAs pseudomorphic HEMTs(PHEMTs) and coplanar waveguide (CPW) structures. The circuit is designed to operate at RF frequencies of 60.4 GHz, IF frequencies of 2.4 GHz, and LO frequencies of 58 GHz. The fabricated MIMIC up-mixer size is 2.3 mmxl.6 mm. The measured results show that the low conversion loss of 1.25 dB when input signal is -10.25 dBm at LO power of 5.4 dBm. The LO to RF isolation is 13.2 dB at 58 GHz. The fabricated V-band up-mixer represents lower LO input power and conversion loss characteristics than previous reported millimeter-wave up-mixers.

A Design of Wide Input Range Multi-mode Rectifier for Wireless Power Transfer System (넓은 입력 범위를 갖는 무선 전력 전송용 다중 모드 정류기 설계)

  • In this paper, a wide-input range CMOS multi-mode rectifier for wireless power transfer system is presented. The output voltage of multi-mode rectifier is sensed by comparator and switches are controlled based on it. The mode of multi-mode rectifier is automatically selected by the switches among full-wave rectifier, 1-stage voltage multiplier and 2-stage voltage multiplier. In full-wave rectifier mode, the rectified output DC voltage ranges from 9 V to 19 V for a input AC voltage from 10 V to 20 V. However, the input-range of the multi-mode rectifier is more improved than that of the conventional full-wave rectifier by 5V, so the rectified output DC voltage ranges from 7.5 V to 19 V for a input AC voltage from 5 V to 20 V. The power conversion efficiency of the multi-mode rectifier is 94 % in full-wave rectifier mode. The proposed multi-mode rectifier is fabricated in a $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process with an active area of $2500{\mu}m{\times}1750{\mu}m$.

The Prediction of Fatigue Damage for Pressure Vessel Materials using Shear Horizontal Ultrasonic Wave (SH(shear horizontal) 초음파를 이용한 압력용기용 재료의 피로손상 예측)

  • Ultrasonic method using SH(shear horizontal) wave has been developed to determine the surface damage in fatigued material. Fatigue damages based on propagation energy were analyzed by multi-regression analysis in interrupted fatigue test specimen including CrMoV and 12Cr alloy steel. From the test results, as the fatigue damage increased the propagation time of the launched waves increased and amplitude of wavelet decreased. Also, analysis for the waveform modulation showed a reliable estimation, with confidence limit of 97% for 12Cr steel and 95% for CrMoV steel, respectively. Therefore, It is thought that SH ultrasonic wave technique can be applied to determine fatigue damage of in-service component nondestructively.

Analysis of V2V Broadcast Performance Limit for WAVE Communication Systems Using Two-Ray Path Loss Model

  • The advent of wireless access in vehicular environments (WAVE) technology has improved the intelligence of transportation systems and enabled generic traffic problems to be solved automatically. Based on the IEEE 802.11p standard for vehicle-to-anything (V2X) communications, WAVE provides wireless links with latencies less than 100 ms to vehicles operating at speeds up to 200 km/h. To date, most research has been based on field test results. In contrast, this paper presents a numerical analysis of the V2X broadcast throughput limit using a path loss model. First, the maximum throughput and minimum delay limit were obtained from the MAC frame format of IEEE 802.11p. Second, the packet error probability was derived for additive white Gaussian noise and fading channel conditions. Finally, the maximum throughput limit of the system was derived from the packet error rate using a two-ray path loss model for a typical highway topology. The throughput was analyzed for each data rate, which allowed the performance at the different data rates to be compared. The analysis method can be easily applied to different topologies by substituting an appropriate target path loss model.

  • In this work, we obtain new solitary wave solutions for some nonlinear partial differential equations. The Jacobi elliptic function rational expansion method is used to establish new solitary wave solutions for the combined KdV-mKdV and Klein-Gordon equations. The results reveal that Jacobi elliptic function rational expansion method is very effective and powerful tool for solving nonlinear evolution equations arising in mathematical physics.

Site Characterization using Shear-Wave Velocities Inverted from Rayleigh-Wave Dispersion in Wonju, Korea (레일리파 분산을 역산하여 구한 횡파속도를 이용한 원주시의 부지특성)

  • To reveal shear-wave velocities ($v_s$) and site characterization of Wonju, Korea, Rayleigh waves were recorded at 78 sites of lower altitude using 12 to 24 4.5-Hz vertical geophones for 20 days during the period of February to September 2013. Dispersion curves of the Rayleigh waves obtained by the extended spatial autocorrelation method were inverted using the damped least-squares method to derive $v_s$ models. From these 1-D models, the average $v_s$ to a depth of 30 m ($v_s30$), $v_s$ of weathered rocks, depths to these basement rocks, and average $v_s$ of the overburden layer were derived to be $16.3{\pm}0.7m$, $576{\pm}8m/s$, $290{\pm}7m/s$, and $418{\pm}13m/s$, respectively, in the 95% confidence range. To determine adequate proxies for $v_s30$, we computed correlation coefficients of $v_s30$ with topographic slope (r = 0.46) and elevation (r = 0.43). An empirical linear relationship is presented as a combination of individually estimated $v_s30$ with weighting factors of 0.45, 0.45, and 0.1 for topographic slope, elevation, and mapped lithology, respectively. Due to a weak correlation between $v_s30$ obtained from inversion of dispersion curves and the proxy-based estimation (r = 0.50), however, the relatively large error range should be considered for applications of this relationship.

A Study on Improving Performance of the Vehicular WAVE Antenna System using the EBG structure for ITS wireless communications (동향분석ITS 무선통신을 위한 EBG 구조를 적용한 자동차용 WAVE 안테나 시스템 성능향상연구)

  • This paper describes a design of the WAVE antenna system in V2X wireless communication systems for Intelligent Transport Systems. The WAVE standard protocols defined 5.825~5.9GHz frequency range for wireless communications with V2X. In a recent, A study of WAVE communication system it has been studied mainly the base station and the OBU technology in order to improve the communication performance of the communication distance. In this paper, the proposed vehicular WAVE antenna using the EBG structure is to improve performance. The proposed WAVE antenna with EBG shows improvement of return loss and radiation beam pattern. The performance of WAVE communication systems for intelligent transport systems is dependent on the performance of antenna. The proposed vehicular antenna for WAVE communication systems shows improvement of return loss for performance.
