  • In this paper, in order to effectively apply unitary space-time modulation to the direct-sequence spread-spectrum multiple-access (DSSS-MA) networks, we propose a low-rate, noncoherent, unitary, and space-time modulated DSSS system supporting any number of transmit antennas based on Walsh matrices. The proposed scheme simultaneously performs bandwidth spreading and space-time coding and outperforms those using high-rate, conventional unitary space-time constellations. Furthermore, the proposed scheme allows for a simple detector structure based on fast Walsh transforms.

  • Hochwald et al. introduced unitary space-time codes for quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels which allows for noncoherent decoding when the channel response is not known at the receiver. However, when reliable information on the channel response is available, coherent decoding is preferable for improved performance. Here, we study the relationship between the performance criteria on the diversity and coding advantages provided by unitary space-time codes with noncoherent and coherent decoding. We show that when a unitary space-time code achieves full spatial diversity with noncoherent decoding, full spatial diversity is also guaranteed with coherent decoding.

  • Given vectors x and y in a Hilbert space, an interpolating operator is a bounded operator T such that Tx=y. An interpolating operator for n-vectors satisfies the equation Ax$_{i}$=y$_{i}$. for i=1,2, …, n. In this article, we investigate unitary interpolation problems in CSL-Algebra AlgL : Let L be a commutative subspace lattice on a Hilbert space H. Let x and y be vectors in H. When does there exist a unitary operator A in AlgL such that Ax=y?

  • This paper investigates a distinct set of complex unitary matrices for QPSK differential space time coding. After properly selecting the initial transmission matrix and unitary matrices we find that the different combinations of them could lead different BER performance over slow/fast Rayleigh fading channels and antennas correlated channels. The numerical results show that the proper selection of the initial transmission matrix and the set of unitary matrices can efficiently improve the bit error rate performance, especially for the antennas correlated fading channel. The computer simulations are evaluated over slow and fast Rayleigh fading channels.

  • It is shown that for a non-unitary twist of a Fuchsian group, which is unitary at the cusps, Eisenstein series converge in some half-plane. It is shown that invariant integral operators provide a spectral decomposition of the space of cusp forms and that Eisenstein series admit a meromorphic continuation.

  • A Fock representation of q-commutation relation is studied by constructing a q-Fock space as the space of the representation, the q-creation and q-annihilation operators (-1 < q < 1). In the case of 0 < q < 1, the q-Fock space is interpolated between the Boson Fock space and the full Fock space. Also, a unitary decomposition of the q-Fock space $(q\;{\neq}\;0)$ is studied.

  • Differential unitary space-time modulation (DUSTM) has emerged as a promising technique to obtain spatial diversity without intractable channel estimation. This paper presents a study of the application of DUSTM on multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems with frequency-selective fading channels. From the view of a correlation analysis between subcarriers of OFDM, we obtain the maximum achievable diversity of DUSTM on MIMO-OFDM systems. Moreover, an efficient implementation strategy based on subcarrier reconstruction is proposed, which transmits all the signals of one signal matrix in one OFDM transmission and performs differential processing between two adjacent OFDM blocks. The proposed method is capable of obtaining both spatial and multipath diversity while reducing the effect of time variation of channels to a minimum. The performance improvement is confirmed by simulation results.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with abstract random linear operators on probabilistic unitary spaces which are a generalization of generalized random linear operators on a Hilbert space defined in [25]. The representation theorem for abstract random bounded linear operators and some results on the adjoint of abstract random linear operators are given.
