In this paper, a matrix converter with improved low frequency output performance is proposed by achieving a one-step commutation owing to a general commutation circuit applicable to n-phase to m-phase matrix converters. The commutation circuit consists of simple resister and capacitor components, leading to a very stable, reliable and robust operation. Also, it requires no extra sensing information to achieve commutation, allowing for a one-step commutation like a conventional dead time commutation. With the dead time commutation strategy applied, the distortion caused by commutation delay is analyzed and compensated, therefore leading to better output linear behavior. In this paper, detailed commutation procedures of the R-C commutation circuit are analyzed. A selection of specific semiconductor switches and commutation circuit components is also provided. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed commutation method is verified through a two-phase to single-phase matrix converter and the feasibility of the compensation approach is shown by an open loop space vector modulated three-phase matrix converter with a passive load.

In this paper, a robust $H\infty$ stabilization problem to a uncertain discrete-time nonlinear systems with time-delay via fuzzy static output feedback is investigated. The Takagj-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent an uncertain nonlinear system with time-delayed state. Then, the parallel distributed compensation technique is used for designing of the robust fuzzy controller. Using a single Lyapunov function, the globally asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed-loop fuzzy control system are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of robust $H\infty$ controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities via similarity transform and congruence transform technique. We have shown the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through the simulation.

When a large sparse matrix is calculated for a horizontal geodetic network adjustment, it needs to go through the process of matrix reordering for the efficiency of time and space. In this study, several reordering methods for sparse matrix were tested, using Sparse Matrix Manipulation System(SMMS) program, total processing time and Fill-in number produced in factorization process were measured and compared. As a result, Minimum Degree(MD) and Mutiple Minimum Degree(MMD), which are based on Minimum Degree are better than Gibbs-Poole-Stockmeyer(GPS) and Reverse Cuthill-Mckee(RCM), which are based on Minimum Bandwidth. However, the method of the best efficiency can be changed dependent on distribution of non-zero elements in a matrix. This finding could be applied to heighten the efficiency of time and storage space for national datum readjustment and other large geodetic network adjustment.
The matrix hypercube MH(2,n) is the interconnection network which improves the network cost of the hypercube. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for one-to-all broadcasting in the matrix hypercube MH(2,n). The algorithm can broadcast a message to 22n nodes in O(n) time. The algorithm uses the rich structure of the matrix hypercubes and works by recursively partitioning the original matrix hypercubes into smaller matrix hypercubes.

In the manufacturing industry, various sensors are attached to monitor the status of production facility. In many cases, the data obtained through these sensors is time series data. In order to determine whether the status of the production facility is abnormal, the process of extracting patterns from time series data must be preceded. Also various methods for extracting patterns from time series data are studied. In this paper, we use matrix profile algorithm to extract patterns from the collected multivariate time series data. Through this, the pattern of multi sensor data currently being collected from the CNC machine is extracted.

Finite element models of dynamic systems can be updated in two stages. In the first stage, mass and stiffness matrices are updated neglecting damping. In the second stage, a damping matrix is estimated with the mass and stiffness matrices fixed. Methods to estimate a damping matrix for this purpose are proposed in this paper. For a system with proportional damping, a damping matrix is estimated using the modal parameters extracted from the measured responses and the modal matrix calculated from the mass and stiffness matrices from the first stage. For a system with non-proportional damping, a damping matrix is estimated from the impedance matrix which is the inverse of the FRF matrix. Only one low or one column of the FRF matrix is measured, and the remaining FRFs are synthesized to obtain a full FRF matrix. This procedure to obtain a full FRF matrix saves time and effort to measure FRFs.

A single snapshot data can only provide limited amount of information so that the rank of covariance matrix is not full, which is not adopted to complete the parameter estimation directly using the traditional super-resolution method. Aiming at solving the problem, a joint time delay and angle estimation using matrix pencil method based on information reconstruction vector for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal is proposed. Firstly, according to the channel frequency response vector of each array element, the algorithm reconstructs the vector data with delay and angle parameter information from both frequency and space dimensions. Then the enhanced data matrix for the extended array element is constructed, and the parameter vector of time delay and angle is estimated by the two-dimensional matrix pencil (2D MP) algorithm. Finally, the joint estimation of two-dimensional parameters is accomplished by the parameter pairing. The algorithm does not need a pseudo-spectral peak search, and the location of the target can be determined only by a single receiver, which can reduce the overhead of the positioning system. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the estimation accuracy of the proposed method in a single snapshot and low signal-to-noise ratio environment is much higher than that of Root Multiple Signal Classification algorithm (Root-MUSIC), and this method also achieves the higher estimation performance and efficiency with lower complexity cost compared to the one-dimensional matrix pencil algorithm.

This paper presents the state feedback control design for discrete time nonlinear systems where there exists a time delay in input. It is shown that under some boundedness condition, the time delay nonlinear systems can be transformed into the time delay linear systems with time varying parameters. Sufficient conditions for existence of stabilizing state feedback controller are characterized by linear matrix inequalities. Finally, an illustrative example is given in order to show the effectiveness of our design method.

We propose a dynamic incidence matrix (DIM) for reflecting states and time conditions of a timed Petri net (TPN) explicitly. Since a DIM consists of a conventional incidence matrix, two time-related vectors and two state-related vectors, we can get the advantages inherent in the conventional incidence matrix of describing a static structure of a system as well as another advantage of expressing time dependent state transitions. We introduce an algorithm providing the DIM with a state transition mechanism. Because the algorithm is, in fact, an algorithmic model for discrete event simulation of TPN models, we provide a theoretical basis of model transformation of a TPN model into a DEVS(Discrete Event system Specification) model. By executing the algorithm we can carry out performance analysis of computer communication protocols which are represented TPN models.
The interfacial phenomena between intermetallic compounds and Al matrix have been studied at $680^{\circ}C$ for various holding time under argon atmosphere. Model experiments were performed using Fe, Ni and Ti wire to observe the interfacial phenomena. The interfacial phenomena between intermetallic compounds and Al matrix were analysed by optical microscope, SEM and EDX. The results of EDX and XRD showed that the interfacial zones of intermetallic compounds/Al matrix were composed of several intermetallic layers. The reaction layer was varied with holding time and heating temperature. The investigation of interfacial zones in the specimen as a function of heat treatment time at $680^{\circ}C$ indicated that the best heat treatment condition for squeeze casting was $680^{\circ}C$ for 5min.
