How do learners discover the topic in team project-based learning?: Analysis of Learners' Creative Activity in the process of selecting the topic

  • Team project learning is a type of Project-Based Learning, which is an effective learning method for developing collaborative competency and interpersonal communication skills, as well as for developing cognitive competency such as critical thinking, creative thinking, and analytical skills. This research, conducted to analyze learning activities, focuses on students' creative thinking and activities in TPBL(Team Project-Based Learning). A qualitative approach including a reflective journal based on the 6 stages of TPBL, was adopted for this purpose. In this study, 69 reflective journals on the three stages (developing a theme, researching, theme-making) of 23 undergraduate students were categorized on the basis of three criteria: divergent thinking factors, convergent thinking factors and affective factors. The results show that the participants' journals demonstrated twenty-eight activities from nine cognitive factors and nine activities from three affective factors were derived from reflect journal. This finding indicates that more appropriate instructional strategies are needed for students to enhance their creative thinking skills and activities

INFLUENCE OF LEADER ON ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING IN CONSTRUCTION TEAMS

  • Organizational learning of construction team has been long addressed in the literatures, but the mechanism of learning and the influence of leader in the team still remain vague. This paper presents a computational model (OLT) depicting the mechanism and the influence of leader in a systemic way. The OLT model is a multi-agent system based on some eloquent propositions proposed in previous researches. The proposed model is preliminarily validated by some toy-problem simulations. In the OLT model, the leader is assigned as a project manager. The results show that a proper leader can effectively improve the learning process and the result-in performance, in which the team learning is mainly affected by both the leader and the majority in a team. Based on our findings, two propositions are concluded accordingly: (1) Learning of a team would be enhanced if a proper leader is assigned; (2) The effectiveness of learning would increase in a team, in which the members retain explorative attitudes.

  • 이 연구는 팀-기반 학습 적용 전과 후의 의사소통 능력, 문제해결 능력, 자기주도 학습능력 변화에 관여하는 주요하위 변수들과 팀구성 방법에 따라 달라지는 학습능력의 차이와 팀 만족도, 학습선호도를 분석하여 팀-기반 학습법을 간호학 교육과정에 적용하는 방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 2016년 10월부터 12월까지 G시 K대학교 간호학과 1학년 96명과 2학년 108명을 대상으로 수업 전과 후의 관찰 값을 SPSS, Medcalc 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 팀-기반학습은 의사소통 능력, 문제해결 능력, 자기주도 학습능력 모두를 향상시키는데 효과가 있엇고 학업성취도를 고려하여 구성한 팀에서 학습선호도가 높았다. 팀-기반 학습은 학생들이 수업 전 자율 학습과 팀 역동을 통하여 문제해결 및 의사소통 능력을 익히고, 전문성과 개인 개발을 향상시키는 학습방법임을 강조하여 교육과정에 정착할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 팀-기반 학습에 관한 방법론적인 구성과 학생 개인의 특성과 학습방법의 선호도 같은 다양한 요소들에 초점을 맞추는 더 많은 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

The effects of the online team project-based learning on problem solving ability, cooperative self efficacy and cooperative self regulation in students of department of physical therapy

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the online team project based learning on problem-solving, cooperative self-efficacy, and cooperative self-regulation of college students. Design: Single group pre-post design. Methods: The online team project based learning was conducted for a total of 92 college students for 8 weeks. A survey was conducted on problem-solving ability, cooperative self-efficacy, and cooperative self-regulation. In the online team project-based class, two projects were performed. It consists of video lectures and real-time video conferencing. Through the real-time video conference, the project was carried out based on discussion among learners and feedback was provided. Results: There was a significant difference in the change in problem-solving ability compared to before learning (p<0.05). As a result of the evaluation of cooperative self-efficacy, there was a significant difference (p<0.05). There was a significant differences in cooperative self-regulation compared to before learning (p<0.05). Conclusion: The online team project-based learning are effective in improving learners' problem-solving ability, cooperative self-efficacy, and cooperative self-regulation.

팀프로젝트 기반 학습법에 대해 지각된 유용성의 선행요인과 결과요인에 대한 연구 (Antecedents and consequences of perceived usefulness of team project-based learning)

  • 본 연구는 대학생이 지각하는 팀 프로젝트 기반 학습법에 대한 유용성과 학습만족도 간의 관계를 규명하고 지각된 자율성, 협력적 효능감, 인지된 상호작용성이 지각된 유용성에 미치는 효과를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 경기도 소재 대학생 55명이 한 학기 동안 팀 프로젝트 기반 학습을 완료 후 설문조사에 참여하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 팀 프로젝트 기반 학습법에 대해 지각된 유용성이 높을수록 학습만족도가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 지각된 자율성과 협력적 효능감을 높게 인식할 때 학습법에 대한 지각된 유용성을 높게 인식하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 대학의 팀 프로젝트 기반 학습법 설계 시 학습자가 학습법이 효율적이고 유용하다고 느끼게 하는 것이 중요하며 이를 위해 자율성을 지지하는 환경조성과 학습자가 협력하여 공동의 목표를 성취할 수 있는 능력을 충분히 갖췄다고 느낄 수 있는 전략이 필요함을 시사한다.

팀기반학습을 적용한 건축시공학 교육과정 개발 (Development of Building Construction Curriculum that Applies Team-Based Learning)

  • 최근 대학에서는 학습효과를 향상시키기 위한 효과적인 교수법에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 교수자 중심의 강의식 교육에서 벗어나 학습자의 역량을 키울 수 있는 학습자 중심의 교수법을 적용하려는 움직임이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 학습자 중심의 교수법인 팀기반학습을 적용한 건축시공학 교육과정을 개발하는 것이다. 중요한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 국내 대학의 강의 운영현황 및 팀기반학습 강의 운영현황을 분석하였다. 팀기반학습을 적용한 교육과정을 개발하였다. 팀기반학습 강의의 학습절차, 주차별 교육과정, 교육과정 운영방안 등을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 교육과정은 국내 대학에서 적용할 수 있는 일반적인 교육과정을 제시한 것이다. 각 대학에서는 대학별 교육여건과 교수자 및 학생들의 특성에 맞게 조정하여 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • With increased interest in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there is also a growing interest in the innovation of college education. In this regard, this study aims to develop a learning model for building construction to nurture architectural engineers needed in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To this end, it analyzed the previous studies on the recent innovations in engineering education. Among the educational innovation methods presented in the previous research, a new learning model was derived by using the most suitable method for the building construction eduction. The derived learning model is a building construction learning model applying team-based learning and flipped learning. The learning model proposed in this study was developed as a learning method to nurture engineers needed in the future. Therefore, it is expected that this model can be utilized in the eduction of architectural engineering at universities in Korea.

블렌디드 러닝을 활용한 팀 기반 학습 실습 수업에서 약학대학 학생의 학습만족도와 플랫폼 선호도: 예비 연구 (Effects of Blended Learning on Pharmacy Student Learning Satisfaction and Learning Platform Preferences in a Team-based Learning Pharmacy Experiential Course: A Pilot Study)

  • Background: With the emergent transition of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for online/offline blended learning that can effectively be utilized in a team-based learning (TBL) course has emerged. Methods: We used the online metaverse platforms, Gather and Zoom, along with face-to-face teaching methods in a team-based Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) course and examined students' learning satisfaction and achievement, as well as their preferences to the learning platforms. A survey questionnaire was distributed to the students after the IPPE course completion. All data were analyzed using Excel and SPSS. Results: Students had high levels of course satisfaction (4.61±0.57 out of 5) and achievement of course learning objectives (4.49±0.70 out of 5), and these were positively correlated with self-directed learning ability. While students believed that the face-to-face platform was the most effective method for many of the class activities, they responded that Gather was the most effective platform for team presentations. The majority of students (64.3%) indicated that blended learning was the most preferred method for a TBL course. Conclusion: Students in a blended TBL IPPE course had high satisfaction and achievements with the use of various online/offline platforms, and indicated that blended learning was the most preferred learning method. In the post-COVID-19 era, it is important to utilize the blended learning approach in a TBL setting that effectively applies online/offline platforms according to the learning contents and activities to maximize students' learning satisfaction and achievement.

The system supports a personalized/ team-centered learning environment, monitoring the learning attitude of learners, and a method for the assessment.

고위험 임부간호교육에 적용한 팀 기반 학습이 학업성취도, 문제해결능력 및 의사소통능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Team Based Learning on Academic Achievement, Problem Solving Skill and Communication Ability in High Risk Pregnant Nursing)

  • 본 연구는 팀 기반 학습방법을 고위험 임부간호교육에 적용하여 학생들의 학업성취도, 문제해결능력 및 의사소통능력에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위한 동등성 대조군 전후 실험설계연구이다. 연구대상은 J도에 소재한 간호학과 2학년 중 실험군 60명, 대조군 60명으로 총 120명이었다. 주 1회, 8주간 프로그램을 실시하였으며 실시 전과 후에 학업성취도, 문제해결능력 및 의사소통능력을 측정하였다. 측정된 자료는 ${\chi}^2-test$와 Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, paired t-test로 분석하였다. 연구결과 학업성취도에서는 두 군 간의 유의한 차이가 없었으나(1차 시험: p=.38, 2차 시험: p=.26) 학습자의 문제해결능력과 의사소통능력을 증진시켰다(p<.001). 그러므로 본 연구는 팀 기반 학습이 고위험 임부간호교육에서 학생들의 문제해결능력과 의사소통능력을 향상시키는데 효과적임을 파악한 점에서 연구의 의의를 지니며, 향후 다른 간호학 전공 분야의 효과적인 교수법으로 확대적용 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
