  • Interest in reducing standby power is increasing because of electric power shortages. Most of electric equipment are in standby state that does not use a function of the original, most electronic devices consume a lot of electric power even in standby mode. In many countries, research on the smart plug is advanced in order to prevent power consumption due to standby state. However, due to the nature of the function, expensive in many case. These smart plugs would be to cut the standby power using motion detecting sensor or pattern control of the user. Theses features have no advantages because of malfunction of motion detecting sensor and in accordance with the diversification ot user's pattern. In this study, developing a multi-smart plug system that linked with bluetooth function of user's smart phone. Using smart phone bluetooth function, determination of the position of the user. The suggestion smart plug cutting the standby power of the electronic apparatus. It was confirmed that it is able to reduce the power consumption according to the location of the user.

  • In Korea, the dependence on imported energy is very high, and research to reduce standby power is being conducted based on Zigbee, a low-power technology, to reduce wasted power and improve power efficiency. However, because Zigbee is not an IoT standard protocol and is not network-based, it is necessary to build a network with a separate gateway, and research on standby power is insufficient because the standards for international power consumption of devices are ambiguous. Therefore, in this paper, we applied the IoT standard protocol MQTT to the existing Zigbee technology to build a network network without a separate gateway, and designed and implemented a standby power reduction system that collects standby power degradation and user patterns. As a result of evaluating with the existing system, it was confirmed that about 7.11% of standby power was consumed compared to the existing system.

  • In this paper, the automatic standby power blocking socket outlet to reduce standby power by blocking power threshold is implemented. Where, the standby power means a flowing power when a disused power electronic is plugged into the socket outlet. The proposed socket outlet can cut off the standby power by establishing a proper block power threshold electronic device according to each electronic device because it can monitor the amount of power through the smart machines such as the real-time PC or mobile phone and directly control the blocking power threshold. The software is implemented by using Visual Studio software, code vision and SN8 C studio, and the hardware is embodied in ATmega128, SN8F27E93S, USB to UART, and relay etc. Through the simulation, we find that the standby power of the proposed method is similar to that of the conventional method in case of the cellular phone but the standby power of the proposed method is much less than that of the conventional method in case of the computer, air conditioning, and set-top box. Therefore, it is proved that the proposed socket outlet has a superior performance in terms of the standby power.

  • Recently, standby power reduction techniques of AC/DC adaptor were developed, consuming power almost arrived to 300mW level. The standby power losses are composed of the input filter loss 11.8mW, the control IC for AC/DC adaptor 18mW, the switching loss 9.53mW and the feedback loss 123mW. And there are the standby power reduction techniques. In this paper, in order to reduce the standby power of SMPS more, the loss due to a voltage difference between input and output is reduced by the control circuit which is composed of the low voltage driving circuit and voltage regulator. The low voltage driving circuit operates on the low voltage of input and off the high voltage. The low voltage driving IC was produced by the $1.0{\mu}m$, high voltage DMOS process.

  • To solve the problems in the contact charging of inspection robots, a wireless charging system for inspection robots and a control strategy are introduced in this paper. Circuit models of a wireless power system with a compound compensation circuit and a three-phase Class-D resonant inverter are set up based on circuit theory. An output voltage control method based on the equal spread regulation of the phase difference between adjacent phases and the parameter correction method in the primary compound compensation circuit are proposed. The dynamic characteristics of the key parameters varying with the secondary coil position are obtained to further investigate the adaptive location scheme during the access and exit processes of moving robots. Combining the output voltage control method and the adaptive location scheme, a transition control strategy for the standby and operation modes of the wireless charging systems for inspection robots is put forward to realize the system characteristics including the low standby power in the standby mode and the high receiving power in the operation mode. Finally, experiments are designed and conducted to verify the correctness of the theoretical research.

  • Modern consumer electronic products like TV, VCR etc, offer users the convience of switching the equipment on and off via a remote control handset. When this type of equipments is switched off, it is said to be in standby mode. In this paper, We proposed that the method of the blocking standby power Son in industrial product including electronic and electronic appliauces. This method is perfectly blocking the standby power of electrical circuit.

  • Home-network gateway always powered on, while network data is not transferred. And the Power consumption of networked electric devices are greatly increased, to support higher speed data transfer. To reduce the power consumption of networked electric devices, some ideas were proposed. Such as ALR, Proxying, Subset-PHY. In this paper we propose a scheme to reduce power consumption of Home-Network Gateway. Proposed Home-network Gateway architecture consumes less than 1W in passive standby mode.
