  • Through the Korean version of the New Deal 2.0, manufacturing-oriented SMEs are facing a new environmental change called smart factory construction. In addition, SMEs are facing new security threats along with a contactless environment due to COVID-19. However, it is practically impossible to apply the previously researched and developed security management system to protect the core technology of manufacturing-oriented SMEs due to the lack of economic capacity of SMEs. Therefore, through research on security management systems suitable for SMEs, it is necessary to strengthen their business competitiveness and ensure sustainability through proactive responses to security threats faced by SMEs. The security management system presented in this study is a security management system to prevent technology leakage applicable to SMEs by deriving and reflecting the minimum security requirements in consideration of technology protection point of view, smart factory, and remote access in a non-contact environment. It is also designed in a modular form. The proposed security management system is standardized and can be selectively used by SMEs.

  • The aim of this study was to develop a research protocol that provides standardized conditioning stimuli in effectively evoking emotion-specific responses in children. The protocol targets five specific emotions(i.e., happiness, sadness, anger, distress, and boredom) by introducing study participants to a combination of music, color, stories, and dolls. This research protocol also includes a self-report emotion assessment scale specially developed for this study to verify the types of emotion induced. Evaluation of the method entailed triangulation of the results from the subjects' self-reported emotional state corresponding to each conditioned stimulus as well as behavioral observations conducted by researchers. Findings suggest that this new protocol effectively evokes five emotions in correspondence to the way it was intended for appropriate emotion induction. Additionally, results showed that female children than male children are more likely to feel boredom; and school-aged children were more likely to react to sadness than pre-school children.

  • Objective: The objective was to determine the influence of amino acid (AA) supplementation during the adaptation period on the ileal digestibility of crude protein and AA in corn and soybean meal (SBM) fed to pigs. Methods: Six barrows with an initial body weight of 30.9±2.6 kg fitted with a T-cannula at the distal ileum were assigned to a 6×6 Latin square design with 6 dietary treatments and 6 periods. Two experimental diets contained corn or SBM as the sole AA source and an N-free diet was additionally prepared. For AA supplementation groups, an AA mixture consisted of Gly, Lys, Met, Thr, Trp, Ile, Val, His, and Phe was added to the corn diet and the N-free diet at the expense of cornstarch, and an AA mixture of Lys, Met, and Thr was added to the SBM diet. All diets contained 0.5% of chromic oxide. The 6 experimental diets were fed to the pigs for four and half days, and the 3 diets containing an AA mixture were switched to the respective diets without AA mixture during the following two and half days. Ileal digesta were collected on days 6 and 7. Results: The addition of an AA mixture during the adaptation period increased apparent ileal digestibility of Arg and Trp in corn (p<0.05) but did not affect that in SBM. The addition of an AA mixture during the adaptation period increased apparent ileal digestibility of Pro and Gly regardless of feed ingredient (p<0.05) but did not affect that of other AA. All AA except Pro in corn and SBM were unaffected by the addition of the AA mixture during the adaptation period. Conclusion: The addition of amino acids to a low-protein diet during the adaptation period does not affect the standardized ileal digestibility of indispensable amino acids in pigs.

  • Currently, in the course of introducing rolling stocks, RAMS standard and management by system engineering method apply to rolling stock system. Technical elements and results applied in system introduction phase are just used in acquisition stage, and these are not applied to the standard in railway site. Therefore, it is difficult to apply to standardized technology and quality assurance measure. Due to the establishment of the EU, railway operation system is internationalized and the international railway standards are being discussed in various ways. In addition, standardization is expanded from manufacture to operation and maintenance. It is to provide consistent standard in quality, cost calculation of maintenance technology, maintenance technology and quality assurance in case of international railway safety incidents. Therefore, this study is to find technology, quality and cost management model to be used for choosing railway-operation guidance by considering how technologies & quality have changed in system life cycle, compared with estimated standards, based on the technologies & quality-related result in the process of getting new rolling stocks and management guidance for operation & maintenance process.

  • The teleconnections between El Nino/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and droughts in Korea and the continental United States(U.S.) are investigated using cross analysis. For this purpose, monthly ENSO data and Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI) for Korea and for seven states in the U.S. are used. This study shows that there are significant statistical associations between ENSO indices and PDSI for Korea; however, the associations are very weak. It is found that dry conditions in Korea are positively correlated with El Nino, while wet conditions with La Nina. SOI, SSt in the Nino 4 and Ship track 6 regions among ENSO indices are more strongly correlated with PDSI than the other ENSO indices when using the original standardized data, but the SST Nino 3, SST Nino 4, and Darwin SSP exhibit abetter correlations with PDSI when using filtered data to be removed autocorrelation components of the original standardized data. The response time lag for maximum correlation between ENSO indices and PDSI appears to be affected by filtering the data. This is expecially true for Korea than for state analyzed in U.S. In addition, it is found that the PDSI in the continental U.S. is more strongly correlated wiht ENSO than in Korea. Furthermore, in analyzing the El Nino and La Nina aggregate composite data, it is found that the dry anomalies in Korea occur from the year following El Nino to about tow years after while the wet anomalies occur from La Nina year for a period of about two years.
