Social Cues, E-Social Ambience, and Emotions in Web-Based Fashion Retailing: A Case of U.S. Shoppers

  • In-store atmospherics involve quantified physical and social aspects; however, the social quality of a web-based retailing context has largely been under-examined. This study addressed some antecedents and consequences of social ambience in virtual shopping (or e-social ambience) within a web-based U.S. retailing fashion context. This study explored the role of social cues as a viable antecedent to e-social ambience and emotions as its consequence. A conceptual framework was built postulating the effect of social cue for web content, on e-social ambience, emotions, and e-shopping enjoyment. The experimental results (n=488) on a fictitious retail T-shirt website confirmed the positive correlation among the variables; in addition, the level of social cues included within the web content significantly increased the level of customer-perceived e-social ambience of the website and subsequent positive on-site emotions. On-site emotions positively influence purchase intentions. The results expand the current understanding of e-store management by providing novel insight relevant to fashion companies that wish to provide customers with a quality website shopping experience.

소셜미디어 분석기반 재난안전 감성모델 연구 (Research of Emotion Model on Disaster and Safety based on Analyzing Social Media)

  • People use social media platforms such as Twitter to leave traces of their personal thoughts and opinions. In other words, social media platforms retain the emotions of the people as it is, and accurately understanding the emotions of the people through social media will be used as a significant index for disaster management. In this research, emotion type modeling method and emotional quotient quantification method will be proposed to understand the emotions present in social media platforms. Emotion types are primarily analyzed based on 3 major emotions of affirmation, caution, and observation. Then, in order to understand the public's emotional progress according to the progress of disaster or accident and government response in detail, negative emotions are broken down into anxiety, seriousness, sadness, and complaint to enhance the analysis. Ultimately, positive emotions are further broken down into 3 more emotions, and Russell emotion model was used as a reference to develop a model of 8 primary emotions in order to acquire an overall understanding of the public's emotions. Then, the emotional quotient of each emotion was quantified. Based on the results, overall emotional status of the public is monitored, and in the event of a disaster, the public's emotional fluctuation rate could be quantitatively observed.

정신장애인의 긍정적 인지와 정서, 사회적 관계, 대처가 회복에 미치는 영향의 관계 구조 탐색 (Structural Exploration of the Effects of Positive Cognition and Emotions, Social Relationship, and Coping on the Sense of Recovery of Persons with Psychiatric Disabilities)

  • 정신장애인의 회복은 정신건강상태, 긍정적 인지와 정서, 친한 사람의 수와 그 관계의 질 등 개인적, 사회적 자원을 활용하여 대처하는 중 형성되고, 이는 주관적 경험뿐 아니라 장기적 조사에 의해 지지된다. 회복을 촉진하기 위해 이 요인들 간의 유기적인 관계를 밝혀 사회복지실천 방법을 발전시킬 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 460명의 지역사회 거주 정신장애인들의 낙관성, 정신건강상태, 정서, 사회적 관계의 양과 질, 대처가 어떠한 관계를 통해 회복에 영향을 주는지 구조방정식모형을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 첫째, 이론모형의 경로파악 결과 낙관성과 정서가 사회적 관계, 대처, 회복에 영향력을 행사한 한편, 정서는 대처에, 정신건강상태와 사회적 관계는 회복에 유의한 영향이 없었다. 둘째, 낙관성과 긍정적 정서는 회복에 직접 효과를 보이고, 양적, 질적 사회관계는 회복에 간접효과만 보였다. 낙관성보다는 긍정적 정서가 양적, 질적 사회관계에 직접 및 간접효과를 보이고, 회복에 더 큰 효과를 나타냈다. 끝으로, 낙관성과 회복, 양적관계와 회복, 질적 관계와 회복 각각의 관계에서는 대처가, 긍정적 정서와 대처 간에는 질적, 양적 관계가, 그리고 양적관계와 대처 간에는 질적 관계가 부분적 매개효과를 보였다. 이러한 결과에 따라 정신장애인의 회복에 영향을 미치는 긍정적 인지와 정서, 사회적 관계의 상이한 기제, 이들 자원과 대처, 회복의 관계에 대해 논의하고 사회복지실천 및 연구를 위한 함의를 제언하였다.

유아의 부정적 정서표현에 대한 어머니의 반응이 유아의 사회적 힘에 미치는 영향: 유아의 정서조절 능력의 매개효과 (The Effect of Mothers' Reactions to Children's Negative Emotions on the Children's Social Power: The Mediating Effect of Children's Emotional Regulation Ability)

  • Objective: This study examined the effects of mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions on the children's social power through children's emotional regulation ability. Methods: A total of 339 four-year and five- year old preschoolers, and their mother and teachers in Seoul and Gyeongi participated in the study. Data were analyzed by path analysis using AMOS 21.0 program. Results: The results were as follows: First, mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions were significantly related to children's emotional regulation ability and social power. Also, children's emotional regulation ability was significantly associated with children's social power. Second, mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions had indirect effects on social power - prosocial leadership and social dominance-through children's emotional regulation ability. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study revealed the mediating role of children's emotional regulation ability between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's social power. Also, these findings will be helpful in order to understand children's social power and to develop parent education programs.

여성결혼이민자에 대한 고정관념과 감정이 사회적 거리감에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Stereotypes and Emotions Toward Women Immigrants by Marriage on Social Distances)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the social distance of college students toward women immigrants by marriage and influencing factors. The considered factors were stereotypes, emotions and socioeconomic variables. The subjects were 324 college students and the data were collected during October 15-29, 2007. Findings of this study are as follows: the college students' scores of social distance toward women immigrants by marriage were less than midpoint (3.0), which means that the social distance of college students toward women immigrants by marriage was not that high. The college students' score of negative stereotype and positive stereotype were very similar. The score of sympathetic emotion was a little higher than negative emotion and positive emotion. To find the factors affecting social distances, regression analysis was executed. The social distances of students were influenced by negative emotions and positive emotions toward the women immigrants by marriage. Stereotypes toward women immigrants by marriage did not have a significant influence on social distances. These variables accounted for 44% of the variance of social distances.

아동의 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응방식 관련요인 (Correlates of Mothers' Reactions to Children's Negative Emotions)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine: (1) how mothers generally react to children's negative emotions; (2) whether there were relationships between children's temperament and mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions; (3) whether there were relationships between mothers' depression and parenting stress, and their reactions to children's negative emotions; (4) whether there were relationships between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's behavior problems; and (5) whether there were relationships between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's social competence. The subjects were 246 preschoolers and their mothers. It was found that emotion-focused socialization and problem-focused socialization were the most frequently used reactions by mothers to cope with children's negative emotions. Relationships between children's temperament and mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions, those between mothers' depression and parenting stress and their reactions to children's negative emotions, those between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's behavior problems, and those between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's social competency were all partially significant. Sex differences were found in some of the relationships found significant.

시설보호 아동의 기질 및 사회적 지지와 긍정적.부정적 정서의 관계 (Temperament and Social Support in Relation to Positive and Negative Emotion of Institutionalized Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between temperament, social support and positive, as well as negative emotions of institutionalized children. The participants were 198 children aged from 10 to 13 years old. They were recruited from 20 childcare facilities in Seoul. Data were analyzed using Cronbach alphas, factor analyses, frequencies, percentiles, t-tests and hierarchical regression analyses. The major findings were as follows: 1) on average, girls showed higher emotionality in temperament compared to boys. Girls reported greater support of school teacher than boys. Boys experienced significantly higher positive emotions than girls, while girls reported significantly higher negative emotions than boys. 2) Positive emotions were influenced by the support of the institutionalized family as well as school teachers. Negative emotions were influenced by the support of the institutionalized family.

걸음마기 영아의 부정적 정서성, 영아의 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응과 영아의 사회정서 행동과의 관계 : 어머니의 반응의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Toddlers' Negative Emotionality and Mothers' Reactions to their Child's Negative Emotions of Social-emotional Behaviors)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 부정적 정서가 드러나는 걸음마기 영아를 대상으로 부정적 정서성과 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응이 영아의 사회정서 행동과 어떠한 관계가 있는지 살펴보는데 있다. 연구대상은 18-36개월 걸음마기 영아와 어머니 141명이었으며 상관관계, 위계적 회귀분석, 매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 영아의 부정적 정서성과 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응, 영아의 사회정서 행동은 서로 유의미하게 관련되어 있었다. 또 영아의 정서성과 어머니의 반응이 영아의 사회정서 행동에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 같은 정도의 부정적 정서를 가진 영아라도 환경적 특성인 어머니의 반응에 따라 사회정서 행동의 정도가 다르게 나타났다. 마지막으로 영아의 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응은 영아의 정서성과 사회정서 행동 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 영아의 사회정서 행동은 영아가 생득적으로 갖고 태어나는 기질적 특성 뿐아니라 어머니의 변인에 의해 조절이 가능하며, 어머니의 반응이 영아의 부정적 정서성을 완화시켜줄 수 있는 완충적 역할을 할 수 있음을 의미한다.

SNS 사용자의 관계유형에 따른 사회감성 모델의 타당화 분석 (Validity analysis of the social emotion model based on relation types in SNS)

  • 본 연구는 SNS 사용자 간의 관계 유형을 감성공유관계와 정보공유관계로 분류하여 두 관계에 따른 사회감성모델을 구축하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 먼저, 기존 문헌에 근거하여 92개의 감성을 수집하여 적합성 검증을 수행한 후 연구목적에 부합하는 26개의 사회감성을 추출하였다. 추출된 사회감성은 관계 유형에 따른 요인분석을 통해 12개의 대표 사회감성과 13개의 대표 사회감성을 도출하였다. 도출된 대표 사회감성은 다차원척도분석을 통하여 2차원의 공간에 매핑하여 사회감성 모델을 도출하였다. 도출된 사회감성 모델은 구조방정식모형 분석을 통해 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 요소들을 제거하였다. 타당성 검증 결과 적합도 지수를 통해 감성공유관계의 사회감성 모델(CFI:.887, TLI:.885, RMSEA:.094)과 정보공유관계의 사회감성 모델(CFI:.917, TLI:.900, RMSEA:.050)의 적합도가 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과로 사용자 관계 유형에 따라 상이한 사회감성 모델이 검증되었다. 본 연구를 통해 제시된 사회감성 모델은 SNS상에서 인간의 감성을 측정하는데 필요한 평가 자료로 활용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 향후 사회감성의 발전 방향을 제시할 수 있는 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

Effects of Intervention Using PARO on the Cognition, Emotion, Problem Behavior, and Social Interaction of Elderly People with Dementia

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate the effects of intervention using the therapeutic robot, PARO, on the cognition, emotion, problem behavior, and social interaction of elderly people with dementia. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. A total of 33 elderly people with dementia living in a nursing home facility participated in the study, with 17 in the experimental group and 16 in the control group. The intervention program with PARO was administered twice a week for 6 weeks, for a total of 12 sessions. Data were collected before and after intervention, using a questionnaire, direct observation, and video recording. Results: There were statistically significant differences in positive emotions and problem behaviors between the groups. The experimental group demonstrated a significant improvement in social interaction. Conclusion: PARO intervention can be utilized as an effective nursing intervention to increase positive emotions and social interaction, as well as decrease problem behaviors, in elderly people with dementia living in nursing home facilities.
