This study aims at providing basic data for product planning to design smart clothing and to develop applications, focusing on consumers by satisfying their emotions through analyzing emotional factors on smart clothing, comparing emotional differences between conventional clothing and it, reviewing changes of consumers' emotion by integrating the product and clothing and researching differences of preference and purchase intention between smart clothing and traditional one. As the results of the study, emotional factors for smart clothing were analyzed with total 6 including 'technical', 'comfort', 'aesthetic', 'modern', 'fun' and 'multiple' factors. Among them, except for 'comport', five emotional factors showed emotional factors between conventional sport-casual clothing and smart clothing. That is, emotional factors of 'technical', 'aesthetic', 'modern', 'fun' and 'multiple' were emphasized more in smart clothing than conventional ones, indicating that they should be considered in planning products of smart clothing. Though there was no significant difference of preference between smart clothing and conventional clothing, in case of comparison of averages, that of smart clothing was a little higher. For purchase intention, smart clothing was lower than the conventional clothing. So preference seems to be not directly related to consumers' immediate purchase. To make consumers' interests and preference to result in purchase, it is necessary to develop smart clothing with more various applications and to prepare commercializing strategies. As the results of the analysis on free-descriptive questionnaire survey, consumers were interested in development of smart clothing to help diet with functions including energy harvesting from body motion, calorification and perspiration, measurement of motion and calory consumption as well as health-care type smart clothing to measure heartbeat and ECG. Reflecting these requirements from the consumers, they should be utilized as guidance to develop smart clothing in the future.
The present study aims to examine whether the gender and school of students affect smart media literacy in South Korea. For the purpose of this study, data in Korea Youth Competency Measurement and International Comparative research II was analyzed. The data was nationwide data collected from 11,284 students in elementary, middle, high, and undergraduate school in South Korea. In order to have value competitiveness as a platform that provides active seniors with integrated exercise services for health care, not only fitness centers, but also home training exercise equipment, fitness-related applications, and smart wearable device markets should be organically connected to form an expanded total platform. The linkage of the digital healthcare function, which provides real-time changes to exercise programs based on continuous monitoring and feed back through wearable devices before, after, and during exercise by receiving and selecting exercise programs suitable for individual health status, is the differentiating factor in the smart fitness model.
A new Smart rower IC's based on the Partial SOI technology was designed for such applications as mobile communication systems, high-speed HDD systems etc. A new methodology of integrating a 0.8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ BiCMOS compatible Smart Power technology, high voltage bipolar device, high speed SAVEN bipolar device, LDD NMOSFET and a new LDMOSFET based on the Partial SOI technology is presented in this paper. The high voltage bipolar device has a breakdown voltage of 40V for the output stage of analog circuit. The optimized Partial SOI LDMOSFET has an off-state breakdown voltage of 75 V and a specific on- resistance of 0.249mΩ.$\textrm{cm}^2$ with the drift region length of 3.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The high-speed SAVEN bipolar device shows cut-off frequency of about 21㎓. The simulator DIOS and DESSIS has been used to get these results.

A fully integrated high-efficiency linear CMOS power amplifier (PA) is developed for 802.11n WLAN applications using the 65-nm standard CMOS technology. The transformer topology is investigated to obtain a high-efficiency and high-linearity performance. By adopting a 2:2 output transformer, an optimum impedance is provided to the PA core. Besides, a LC harmonic control block is added to reduce the AM-to-AM/AM-to-PM distortions. The CMOS PA produces a saturated power of 26.1 dBm with a peak power-added efficiency (PAE) of 38.2%. The PA is tested using an 802.11n signal, and it satisfies the stringent error vector magnitude (EVM) and mask requirements. It achieves -28-dB EVM at an output power of 18.6 dBm with a PAE of 14.7%.

This paper is concerned with the development of power amplifier and controller for piezoelectric actuator and sensor used in smart structures. Even though a high-voltage power amplifier is provided in the form of an operational amplifier, a very high DC voltage is still necessary as a power supply. In this study, we propose a low-cost design for the power amplifier including the DC power supply. We also need a controller on which a control algorithm will be mounted. In general, a digital signal processing chip is popularly used because of high speed. However, only commercial product is available for smart structure applications. In this paper, a controller consisting of a DSP and electronic circuits suitable for piezoelectric sensor and actuator pair is proposed. To validate the proposed controller with power amplifier, experiment on smart structure was carried out. The experimental results show that the proposed control system can be effectively used for smart structure applications with low cost.

This paper is about a bar code decoding algorithm developed for smart phone applications. The algorithm consists of bar code data extraction procedure, bar code signal estimation procedure, and bar code decoding procedure. To detect the peak bar code module, a DSTW had been applied because of its outstanding performance in ECG peak detection. In order to minimize errors due to non-uniform light effect, the proposed algorithm was acted as a baseline wandering filter based on module peaks detection. The algorithm had been tested to evaluate the performance under the conditions of blurring, non-uniformed light and white noises. The algorithm had shown excellent performance in reconstruction of bar code decoding, compared to other conventional methods. In order to show the possibility of applying the algorithm to a smart phone, a real UPC-A type 150 bar code pictures obtained from a smart phone camera was applied to the algorithm, achieving the correct recognition rate of 97.33%.
The applications of Distributed Generation (DG) in a smart distribution grid environment are widely employed especially for power balancing and supporting demand responses. Using these applications can have both positive and negative impacts on the distribution system. The sizing and location of their installations are the issues that should be taken into consideration to gain the maximum benefit from them when considering the economic aspects. This paper presents an application of the Bat Algorithm (BA) for the optimal sizing and siting of DG in a smart distribution power system in order to maximize the Benefit to Cost Ratio (BCR), subjected to system constraints including real and reactive power generation, line and transformer loading, voltage profile, energy losses, fault level as well as DG operating limits. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology and the impact of considering economic issues on DG placement, a simplify 9-bus radial distribution system of the Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand (PEA) is selected for the computer simulation to explore the benefit of the optimal DG placement and the performance of the proposed approach.
