Objectives: This study aimed to provide the measures for improving the self-directed learning ability and the reference data for substantializing the educational programs by verifying the main factors affecting the self-directed learning ability of dental hygiene students in reality when the learners' autonomy is emphasized than ever. Methods: From June 20 to July 4, 2022, an online survey was conducted targeting total 218 dental hygiene students. The collected data was analyzed by using the SPSS Program Version 22.0. Results: First, in the results of analyzing differences in detailed items of self-directed learning ability according to the general characteristics, the 'students who entered the department of dental hygiene by considering their aptitude and interest' showed higher results than the 'students who entered the department by considering their high school record'. Second, when the academic efficacy, study immersion, and problem-solving ability of dental hygiene students were higher, their self-directed learning ability was also high. Third, the factor that had the greatest effect on self-directed learning ability of dental hygiene students was problem-solving ability, which was followed by academic efficacy and study immersion. Conclusion: Putting together the results above, in order to cultivate the problem-solving ability of dental hygiene students, it would be necessary to operate the problem-solving-centered simulation course that could foster critical thinking, interactions with others, and creative approach and solution to problems in dental medical site. It would be also possible to improve their academic efficacy by applying the learning mentoring & one-to-one learning counseling program, and also strengthening proper feedbacks for learners. Moreover, the study immersion could be strengthened by developing and operating the emotion-based learning motivation program & learning coaching program through the process of verifying the potential and growth needs of learners, exploring one's own resources through learning diagnosis/introspection, and exploring the career-related vision for strengthening the learning motivation, which could have positive effects on the improvement of self-directed learning ability.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of Lubric Learning Strategy Program, to solve problems of the Middle School Students' learning, on learning motivation, self-efficacy and self-regulation. The objects of this investigation was 60 students sampled from the first, second and third year students of Y Middle school in Seoul, which was divided equally -30 students each- into experimental group and control group. The progress covered 10 weeks period, a hour and half every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The conclusion derived from the results and discussion is as follows: First, the learning motivation of experimental group participated in the Lubric Learning Strategy Program to solve learning problems has changed quite meaningfully compared to the control group. It showed positive changes in all suborn ate variables such as class motivation, continuing motivation, intrinsic motivation, and extrinsic motivation. Second, the self-efficacy of experimental group participated in the Lubric Learning Strategy Program to solve learning problems has changed quite meaningfully compared to the control group. These results showed positive changes in subordinate variables such as preference level to subjects and self-control efficacy, though did not show notable changes in confidence area. However as confidence area doesn't really matter in total score, Lubric Learning Strategy Program is considered to have good influence in self-efficacy. Third, the self-regulation of experimental group participated in the Lubric Learning Strategy Program to solve learning problems has changed quite meaningfully compared to the control group. It showed positive changes in all subordinate variables such as self-control mode and inhibitory will mode. Fourth, the use on learning strategy of experimental group participated in the Lubric Learning Strategy Program to solve learning problems has changed quite meaningfully compared to the control group. These results showed positive changes in subordinate variables such as rehearsal, elaboration, organization and inspection, though did not show notable changes in schedule and control area. However, as the total score of use on learning strategy has changed prominently, Lubric Learning Strategy Program is considered to have good influence in use of learning strategy.

This study was conducted to provide standards for the development of contents and systems for digital textbooks by examining the learners' satisfaction from digital textbooks, which are now being distributed to schools, in terms of ubiquitous learning, and by verifying the moderation effect of learners' computer self efficacy and digital textbook usage. SPSS win 13.0 was used for technical statistics, Cronbach's $\alpha$ coefficient calculation and correlation analysis for empirical analysis, and the MMR (moderated multiple regression) analysis was conducted for the hypothesis test. The following principal results were obtained from the hypothesis tests. First, the ubiquitous learning features had direct effects on the learning satisfaction from the digital textbooks. Second, when the ubiquitous learning features had positive effects on the learning satisfaction from digital textbooks, both the computer self efficacy and digital textbook usage reacted with the ubiquitous learning feature and showed moderation effects. These results were statistically significant.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of learning immersion in clinical simulations on the relationship between nursing student learning motivation and achievement in clinical simulation. Methods: This study was conducted using a cross-sectional survey with 184 nursing students from two universities who participated in clinical simulation between September and December 2022. The participants completed a self-administered questionnaire, and the collected data were analyzed using independent an independent t-test, Mann-Whitney U-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis to identify the mediating effects of learning immersion on the relationship between nursing student learning motivation and achievement. Results: Among the subvariables of nursing student learning motivation, task value and self-efficacy for learning and performance had a significant effect on learning immersion (respectively, β=.36, p=.001; β=.31, p<.001) and learning achievement (respectively, β=.48, p<.001; β=.38, p<.001). With the input of learning motivation variables, the direct effect of learning immersion on learning achievement was significant (β=.20, p=.003), and the effects of learning motivation and task value and self-efficacy on learning achievement was reduced after controlling for learning immersion, which is a mediating variable (respectively, β=.41, p<.001; β=.32, p<.001). The bootstrapping test to confirm the mediating effect of learning immersion was also significant (task value 95% confidence interval [95% CI], 0.02~0.20; self-efficacy 95% CI, 0.01~0.12). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that simulation educators should consider learners' motivation and immersion when organizing and operating clinical simulations.
This study was conducted to test the effects of flipped learning on learning motivation, academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition for undergraduate nursing students. This study used a one group pre-post test design. Participants were 88 nursing students. The flipped learning was provided for 4 times(8 hours) in adult nursing. Data were collected between March 5 and June 8, 2018. Data were analyzed by frequencies, paried t-test using SPSS/WIN 23.0. The results showed that learning motivation (t=12.7, p<.001) was significantly lower than levels before flipped learning, academic self-efficacy (t=-3.01, p<.001) was significantly higher than levels before flipped learning and critical thinking disposition (t=-.51, p=.606) was higher than levels before flipped learning but was no significantly. The study findings suggest that the flipped learning has proven to be influential educational program for improving the academic self-efficacy, critical thinking disposition of nursing students. The flipped learning was an effective teaching program for nursing students. But Learning motivation is decreased, It is necessary to develop flipped learning that can improve learning motivation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of case-based learning based on flipped learning in a pathophysiology course for nursing students. Methods: Participants were sophomore nursing students enrolled in a pathophysiology course. The experimental group (n=42) received the case-based learning in class after similar case-based learning in a pre-class based on flipped learning, while the control group (n=39) received the usual flipped learning. Data were analyzed by χ2-test, independent t-test, and ANCOVA using SPSS WIN 21.0. Results: There were significant differences in self-directed learning ability (F=10.93, p=.001), self-efficacy (F=5.45, p=.022), problem-solving ability (F=6.11, p=.016), and critical thinking disposition (F=6.76, p=.011) between the experimental group and the control group. Conclusion: The application of case-based learning based on flipped learning in a pathophysiology course for nursing students was effective in improving problem-solving and self-directed learning abilities, self-efficacy, and the critical thinking disposition of sophomore nursing students.
This research performed the empirical test for the effects of learning transfer on perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, self-efficacy and work environment using 390 employees who have experienced e-learning in domestic and foreign companies. Analyzed the mediating effects of self-efficacy and work environment in addition to direct effect of each factor on learning transfer. The results showed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease-of-use of e-learning learner had a positive(+) effect on self-efficacy and a positive influence on supervisor and peer support and organizational climate. Self-efficacy showed a positive effect on learning transfer, and supervisor support, peer support and organizational climate had a positive influence on learning transfer as well. Perceived usefulness also had a positive effect on learning transfer. However, perceived ease-of-use had no significant effect on learning transfer. As a result of the mediating effect analysis, self-efficacy and work environment were analyzed to have mediating effects between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and learning transfer. The implications of this study are as follows. First, this study designed a new research model that reflects factors influencing the effect of learning transfer on acceptance of e-learning that is common in corporate education. It has derived a research model of perceived usefulness and perceived ease-of-use, which were used as mediating variables for external characteristics factors, as independent variables, using self-efficacy and work environment as mediating variables, which were studied as external factors. Second, most of the studies on technology acceptance model and learning transfer are conducted in a single country. The reliability was enhanced by testing the study models using different samples from 26 countries. Third, perceived usefulness and ease-of-use in existing studies have been considered as key determinants of acceptance intention and learning transfer. This study explored the mediating effects of learner and environmental factors on the accepted information technology and strengthened and supplemented the path of learning transfer of perceived usefulness and ease-of-use. In addition, based on the sample analysis of various countries used in this study, it is expected that future international comparative studies will be possible.

This study aims to explore the influencing factors and the process of enhancing science self-efficacy (SSE) and to lay the foundation in understanding science self-efficacy of students. The ten categories related to the science self-efficacy were derived through the coding of the interview data based on the grounded theory and paradigm analysis to develop a process model of science self-efficacy improvement. Through the process analysis, four cyclical phases were found in the process of enhancing SSE: 'Entering into learning science' phase, 'enhancing SSE' phase, 'adjustment' phase, and 'result' phase. More specifically, the phase of 'entering into learning science' is where students choose science track and stimulated to construct SSE. The phase of 'enhancing SSE' is where students taking a science track actively learn science and perform science activities. In the phase of 'adjustment', students come to have successful performance about learning science and performing science activities by using diverse strategies. Finally, 'result' phase indicates different appearances of students depending on SSE levels. The phases were non-linear and periodically repeat depending on situation. The core category in the selective coding was indicated to be 'enhancing science self-efficacy.' Students' SSE form by learning science and performing science activities. These finding may help better understand the behavior of students who are taking a science track by facilitating effective science learning through the increase of their SSE levels.
