In this paper we present a nonlinear programming model for the train seat capacity distribution with a numerical example. The model finds the optimal capacity distribution methods which minimize the sum of the differences between the demands and the seat capacities. Also the model provides the information on the degree of the discrepancy between the demand and the seat capacities. One can use the model as a tool for planning train seat capacity planning.
This study has confirmed that subjective positive and negative aspects a driver feels by applying haptic seat on a vehicle to substantiate vehicle navigation system. Our experiment with total twenty subjects provides that the reaction time (RT) is superior in haptic interface than visual or auditory interface but subjective satisfaction, which subjects feel, and workload is less low in a simulator environment. Although, the difference of individuals and unfamiliarity is relatively high inasmuch as the experiment of absolutely new technology, but overall satisfaction of haptic seat is high. The result of study provides some consideration and direction to need in implementation of a haptic seat and it also confirms their possibility meaningfully. We expect the interaction between a driver and a vehicle and safety improvement potentially through applied haptic seat on actual vehicles.
In this paper we present a nonlinear programming model for the solution of the train seat capacity distribution problem (TSCDP) with a numerical example. The TSCDP model finds the optimal capacity distribution methods which minimize the sum of the differences between the demands and the seat capacities. Also the TSCDP provides the information on the degree of the discrepancy between the demand and the seat capacities. One can use the TSCDP model as a tool for planning train seat capacity planning.

This paper presents a smart seat for correction of driver posture while driving. We introduce good postures with seat height, seat angle, head height, back of knees, distances of foot pedals, tilt of seat, etc. There have been some studies on correction of good posture while driving, effects of driving environment on driver's posture, sitting strategies based on seating pressure distribution, estimation of driver's standard postures, and others. However, there are a few studies on guide of good postures while driving for problem of driver's posture using machine leaning. Therefore, we suggest a smart seat for correction of driver's posture based on machine leaning, 1) developed the system to get postures by 10 piezoelectric effect element, 2) collect piezoelectric values from 37 drivers and 28 types of cars, 3) suggest 4 types of good postures while driving, 4) analyze test postures by kNN. As the results, we can guide good postures for bad or problems of postures while driving.

With the development of Information Communication Technology and a way of solving problems such as productivity improvement, advanced working attitude, greenhouse gas reduction, low birth rate, aged problem, etc., the need of smart work is increasing. Getting out of legacy working types that are limited in time and space, the flexible seat system at a smart work center that supports the smart working environment is proposed. However, the seat choice based on employee's emotional judgement may cause the decline of forming cooperative space and mutual communication because of the scattered seat arrangement between employees. This paper proposed a seat recommendation method for the mutual cooperation at a smart work center. The method is based on a work similarity of employees. A prototype system also implemented to show the feasibility.

In this study, the effect of the automotive haptic-seat technology which can transmit the driving information by the vibro-stimulus from the seat was investigated to overcome previous system's limitation relied on the visual and audial method and to help handicap driving. A prototype haptic seat cover with 30 coin-type motors and driver module were developed for this sake. In an experiment of seat vibration stimulation being performed under virtual driving situation by targeting the elderly aged over 65 years old, average score of test subjects for total vibration recognition was 3.5/4 points and recognition rate of 87.5% was represented. In addition, a result that all the test subjects totally recognized overspeed warning signal of 4 times was represented. As a result of statistical analysis for vibration recognition score by each group depending on TMT score, a significant difference was not found and a result that tactile function of which vibration is recognized even by the aged whose visual, perceptional function is declined showed an equal ability was obtained.. In this study it was shown that the seat vibration stimulus could be used to transfer the old drivers' information while driving.

In this study, the effect of the automotive haptic-seat technology which can transmit the driving information by the vibro-stimulus from the seat was investigated to overcome previous system's limitation relied on the visual and audial method and to help handicap driving. A prototype haptic seat covers with 30 coin-type motors and driver module were developed for this sake. A driving simulator on the 6-DOF motion-base was used for driving situation and we executed the seat vibro-stimulus test with 10 young participants who have normal tactile sense. The haptic recognition ratio by 30 locations was measured and analyzed in the result. The intensity of vibro-stimulus was adjusted by input voltage of motors (1.5V,2.5V,3.5V). All vibro-stimulus locations at 2.5V and 3.5V could be recognized by all participants and even in the lowest recognition ratio of 1.5V. The results showed that the seat vibration stimulus could be useful to transfer the drivers' information while driving.
This paper describes the design, fabrication and characteristics of a piezoelectric valve using MCA(Multilayer ceramic actuator). The MCA valve, which has the buckling effect, consists of three separate structures; MCA, a valve actuator die and an a seat die. The design of the actuator die was done by FEM modeling and displacement measurement, respectively. The valve seat die with 6 trenches was made, and the actuator die, which is driven to MCA under optimized conditions, was also fabricated. After Si-wafer direct bonding between the seat die and the actuator die, MCA was also anodic bonded to the seat/actuator die structure. PDMS sealing pad was fabricated to minimize a leak-rate. It was also bonded to seat die and SUS package. The MCA valve shows a flow rate of 9.13 seem at a supplied voltage of 100 V with a 50% duty cycle, maximum non-linearity was 2.24% FS and leak rate was $3.03{\times}10^{-8}pa{\codt}m^{3}/cm^{2}$. Therefore, the fabricated MCA valve is suitable for a variety of flow control equipment, a medical bio-system, automobile and air transportation industry.

In recent, the cafe culture has came very close friendly people. But many customers have been left the seat because the cafe has been heavily biased. To solve the problem, we propose the Cafe Seat Confirmation System based on IoT. Proposed system consists of Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and application. Using a smart device, it is possible to provide efficient services such as real-time seat reservations and cafes management.
Existing child car seats do not have a monitoring means for the driver or guardian to effectively recognize the status of whether the seat belt of car seat is fastened and whether the ISOFIX of the car seat is fastened to the inside device of the vehicle. In this paper, we propose a smart car seat system which can monitor in real time, whether the seat belt of a child seated in the car seat is fastened and whether the ISOFIX of the car seat is fastened. The proposed system has been developed with a prototype, in which a Hall sensor, magnet, Bluetooth, and display device are used to detect whether these are fastened and to display the detection results. The prototype system provides the detection results as texts and alarm signal to the display for driver or guardian' smartphone in the car in motion. With functional tests of the prototype system, it was confirmed that the detection functions are properly operated, and the detection results were transmitted to the display device and smartphone via Bluetooth within 0.5 seconds. It is expected that the development system can effectively prevent safety accidents of child car seats.
