Let K be an algebraic number field. If k is the maximal cyclotomic subextension in K then the Schur K-group S(K) is obtained from the Schur k-group S(k) by scalar extension. In the paper we study projective Schur group PS(K) which is a generalization of Schur group, and prove that a projective Schur K-algebra is obtained by scalar extension of a projective Schur k-algebra where k is the maximal radical extension in K with mild condition.

A projective Schur algebra associated with a partition of finite group G can be constructed explicitly by defining linear transformations of G. We will consider various linear transformations and count the number of equivalent classes in a finite group. Then we construct projective Schur algebra dimension is determined by the number of classes.

In this paper, we will show that the minimal number of generators of any four dimensional, faithful, $\mathcal{B}$(Schur algebra of size 4)-module is two. This result can be applied to classify the isomorphism classes of the class {$\mathcal{B}{\ltimes}N^2{\mid}N$ is a faithful, $\mathcal{B}$-module with $dim_k(N)=4$}.

Recently, we have introduced a group invariant, which is related to the number of elements $x$ and $y$ of a finite group $G$ such that $x{\wedge}y=1_{G{\wedge}G}$ in the exterior square $G{\wedge}G$ of $G$. This number gives restrictions on the Schur multiplier of $G$ and, consequently, large classes of groups can be described. In the present paper we generalize the previous investigations on the topic, focusing on the number of elements of the form $h^m{\wedge}k$ of $H{\wedge}K$ such that $h^m{\wedge}k=1_{H{\wedge}K}$, where $m{\geq}1$ and $H$ and $K$ are arbitrary subgroups of $G$.

An r-color Rado number N = R(𝓛, r) for a system 𝓛 of equations is the least integer, provided it exists, such that for every r-coloring of the set {1, 2, …, N}, there is a monochromatic solution to 𝓛. In this paper, we study the 2-color Rado number R(𝓔, 2) for 𝓔 : x₁ + x₂ + ⋯ + x_n = y₁ + y₂ = z when n ≥ 4.

This paper is concerned with the solution of ill-conditioned Systems of Linear Equations (SLE's) via the solution of equivalent SLE's which are well-conditioned. A matrix is rst constructed from that of the given ill-conditioned system. Then, an adequate right-hand side is computed to make up the instance of an equivalent system. Formulae and algorithms for computing an instance of this equivalent SLE and solving it will be given and illustrated.

In this paper, the problem of simultaneously allocating servers and loadings of stations in a class of manufacturing systems modelled as network of queues is considered. The throughput function of the closed network of queues is demonstrated as a Schur convex function of server allocation, that is, increasing the server allocation vector under majorization increases the performance in the ship in terms of the throughput. It also reduces the congestion in the open network of queues in terms of reducing the total number of jobs in the sense of likelihood ratio ordering. These are the extentions of the numerical results of Green and Guha (1995) in the service system with independent M/M/c systems to the network of queues. The results can be used to support production planning in certain manufacturing systems.

Subspace-based state space system identification (4SID) methods have been demonstrated to per-form well in a number of applications, but the properties of these have not been fully analyzed or understood yet. For applying the methods, no assumptions on structure of realization are needed and any coordinate transformation is allowed for the estimates. This is one reason why many kinds of properties expected for identification procedures have not been clarified yet. We illustrate, by using Schur complement, an interpretation of the R matrix yielded by the QR factorization in the 4SID procedure. The results in this paper can be useful for analysis of properties of parameters obtained by 4SID methods.
