This study presents the discourse for academic generation of 'School Library Education Science' based on integrative research between library & information science and education science. The study discusses research fields and themes of 'School Library Education Science' as the base to define the roles of the school library and of teacher-librarians. It contributes to upgrading the research level of the school library. The research field in the school library analyzes and integrates both aspects of library & information science and of education science. The developed theories of 'School Library Education Science' present Library-Based Education and Library-Based Learning, Base Connectionism, Base Integrationism, Top456 Approach, Curriculum-Based Approach, Viewpoint Approach, and Education of Information and the Library as a Subject Matter. The trends in research of the school library analyze the thesis numbers of academic journals. The future research challenges of 'School Library Education Science' discuss the educational basics of the school library, operational management, electronic school libraries, and educational activities. Conclusively, this study analyzes the current situation of the school library & of teacher-librarians in Korea, and provides its solution by the aspects of 'School Library Education Science'.

The knowledge-based society needs creative and active knowledge workers. To meet the need of this modern society, Korea education begins to focus on reading ability of students and project-based school education. The 7th School Education Program requires performance evaluation, optional activites, and extracurricular activites and the school library is a necessary facility for these educational activities. Ministry of Education of Korea made a master plan to rebuild the school library for The 7th School Education Program. The master plan includes the assistance for the school library facility, school library materials, budget, the library staff. And also the master plan includes promotion for school education in the library to develop the school library as the center of school education.

The purpose of this study is to explore ways for boosting reading education at school. Research object is research and practice activities of 'Society for School Library' at Gyeongnam area. Research method is case study. Data for this study were collected by interview with 'Society for school library' members through half structured survey, their documents and homepage site database. The results of analyzing the activities of 'Society for School Library' were explored reading education's outcomes and prospects that performed impassionedly by them. It suggests ways for boosting of reading education at school that under any circumstances reading education at school must connect with school library and the necessity of ties and collaborations with organizations inside and outside of school.

In this paper we discuss what Competitive Intelligence means, why it is growing in importance in the business world and how Library and Information Science Schools in the United States are responding to the opportunities presented by Competitive Intelligence. As a conclusion, we discuss some of the implications of our findings for Library and Information Science education in Korea.

The school library standards. a guideline encouraging the reasonable library administration for school education that began with early quantity in 1920, has been changed as an information power in 1988 after 7th revision. The school library is highlighted as a gear of education process and the center of education change. The major summary is as follows: First. the name of librarian has been changed from teacher's librarian to school library media specialist that executes as a leader for participating in plan. performance and development of instruction. Second. the type of material has been changed from book to electronic media. Also, the number of book per capital has been increased from 6-8(1920) to 23-28(1988) Finally, the function of school library has been changed from space service into proactive service which is playing the role of the heart of school education process based on information skill.

This study aims to investigate and analyze the current status of user education and the school library staffs' perceptions in elementary school libraries in Gyeongnam, and then to propose a plan to improve user education in school libraries. Among the 168 school libraries in the Gyeongsangnam-do where librarians are deployed, 120 that responded to the survey were selected as research subjects. The contents of the study include the contents and methods of user education, the status of librarian education for user education, school library staffs understanding and interest in user education, school library staffs' perceptions of the necessity and effectiveness of user education, and school library staffs' efforts to strengthen capacity of user education. Based on the current status of user education and the results of the school library staffs' perceptions survey, the following are proposed as a way to improve user education of the school library: 1) expanding librarian education opportunities for user education, 2) development and distribution of educational materials that diversify the content and level of each grade, 3) organizing normal school hours for user education, 4) continuous efforts to strengthen capacity for user education.

In the society of lifelong learning, a school library has to play an important educational role in improving self-directed learning ability that school education is seeking. First of all, This study makes it clear that the goal of school library use education is to develop self-directed learning ability. It carries out a research into the present condition of school library use education which is an important educational role of a school library. The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of using chatbots as a school library educational tool. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, 116 librarian teachers first investigated the types and contents of education conducted in the school library setting and the perception of chatbots there. In addition, 15 librarians (five elementary, five middle, and five high school) were asked to complete a structured questionnaire after using Google's Bard, Microsoft's Bing, and OpenAI's Nova to find out if it is possible to use chatbots in school library education. As a result, user and reading education chatbots were found to be common in school libraries, and 99% of librarians knew about them in some detail. However, the average chatbot performance by area was 2.9 out of 5 (2.6 points being the lowest). Nevertheless, chatbots are being developed utilizing deep learning methodologies and have excellent performance, and are very effective for content-based library education through problem-solving activities.

In this study it is surveyed how the educational objectives of orientation in Library & Information Science under current school system should be formed and presented as follows; First, there are many obstacles in overcoming problems and setting successfully education of Library & Information Science under the school system by Ministry of Education. To get over this clear objectives and goals of education must be presented. According to clarified goal of education curriculums must be formed systematically. As a result it is suggested that setting goal of education emphasizing on paralleling of fortifying of theory and conducting practical business rather than training of Information specialist. Second, in analysis of curriculum of library & Information Science it is divided into five categories; (1) 'information organization', (2) 'reference/bibliographical information', (3) 'management of library/ information center', (4) 'informatics' (5) 'library & Information science in general', then courses of each category are arranged and analyzed. As a result balanced development among categories and education is required. In short educational goal of library & Information Science must show basic philosophy, ideal, and direction of education. In addition it is ideal that educational goal of Library & Information Science be presented concretely and in feasible way. Thus in this context the goal and objectives of library & Information Science must be devised and amended, su n.0, pplement as circumstances change.
