Using the SPSS WIN 21.0 Program for the data analysis, this study used the t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. In the results of this study, the satisfaction with clinical practice of nursing students had positive correlation with subjective happiness, and negative correlation with perceived stress. The factors having effects on the satisfaction with clinical practice were major satisfaction, gender, perceived stress, subjective happiness, and subjective health status, and the explanatory power of those variables was 21.9%. Based on such results of this study, it would be necessary to develop the complex educational programs considering the elements like decrease of perceived stress and improvement of subjective happiness at the same time, in order to improve the satisfaction with clinical practice.

The results showed that satisfaction of university life, satisfaction of nursing major and satisfaction of clinical practice had significant effects on resilience, clinical performance ability and stress in clinical practice. Also the correlation between the resilience and clinical performance ability of nursing students was positive(r=.510). And the correlation between the resilience and stress in clinical practice was negative(r=-.153). These findings indicate that there is a need to improve resilience of nursing students to promote the clinical performance ability and to lessen stress in clinical practice. The results should be reflected in the development of effective programs.

  • To determine clinical nursing instructors' teaching efficacy, students' clinical practice satisfaction, and confirm between correlation, and develop a plan for operating nursing education efficiently for clinical practice. Clinical practice could create an optimal learning situation. We applied CNITEs and CPS to measure clinical nursing instructor teaching efficacy and clinical practice satisfaction. The differences in teaching efficacy by the general characteristics were measured and analyzed; the higher the level of the participants' education, position, clinical career, and clinical teaching career, the higher their teaching efficacy. The higher the age at clinical practice, the higher the clinical efficacy of clinical practitioners with clinical career and higher education level students were more satisfied with the practice subject and nursing instruction than other categories. Therefore, in order to increase the satisfaction of nursing students' practice in the clinical field, we hope to improve various things that can be used not only teaching efficacy but also in clinical practice satisfaction.

We found that clinical performance ability was higher for Type 4 than Type 3. We found that clinical performance satisfaction with clinical practice was also higher for the Type 4 individual than a Type 3 person. Conclusion: To improve students' clinical performance ability, we need plans and support to lead students toward becoming an 'enthusiastic learner' type of person with self-directed learning ability. It is necessary to increase students' satisfaction with clinical practice.

  • Recently, the student internship has been introduced in medical schools as a way of preparing students with training experience and medical knowledge by performing clinical practice. This study discusses student internship management and ways to operate the internship effectively. Catholic University of Daegu School of Medicine has set up a 6-week internship program for fourth-year undergraduate students. In most of the sections, students have shown their satisfaction, particularly when they have received appropriate feedback and attention from their professors. The students found that performing the evaluation and treatment of patients and individual chart recording were informative and helpful. However, they felt a lack of basic knowledge and clinical skills and had difficulty in understanding their roles and in time management. The success of an internship depends on the passion and interest that professors show for their students along with active support from the other faculty and thoughtful consideration of patients and all their friends and family members. In addition, with growing awareness of the need for the student internship, it is necessary that the school executive provide financial and administrative support to the faculty and staff, clarify roles and the work needed to perform the tasks, ensure substantiality of the individual program with professors or departments, provide enough preliminary courses, and monitor outcomes and reflection.
