This study examined the effects of STEAM program using authoring tool on elementary school students' creative personality and science-related attitude. For this study, after analyzing curriculum from the first term of 6th grade and extracting the learning elements and topic, I developed lesson plans and App contents. As a result of applying STEAM program using Storyline to 6th grade elementary school class. dividing two groups-experimental group, comparison group-for this study, tested t-test, the test result of experimental group got a meaningful result statistically. There was positive effect on improving elementary school students' creative personality and science-related attitude.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of STEAM program on students' academic achievement, creative problem-solving ability, scientific inquiry ability and scientific interests of elementary school students. For this, we developed a STEAM program to utilize animation production about 'structure and function of the our body' unit in 5th grade. The STEAM program was developed for a total of 9 sessions and was applied to the experimental group. The theoretical lesson of the 2009 revised curriculum was consisted of 11 sessions and was applied to the comparative group. The results of study showed significant differences of the students' academic achievement, creative problem-solving ability to the experimental group participating in the STEAM program and also showed significant effects in the domains of subject contents and teacher preference, which are the areas of scientific interests compared to the comparative group. This means that the STEAM program to utilize animation production about 'structure and function of the our body' developed in consideration of the characteristics of elementary students positively influenced the academic achievement, creative problem-solving ability and scientific interests of elementary school students. In the future we need to develop STEAM programs more variously that utilize animation production and that it needs to be applied to elementary schools.
The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of mentoring experience in STEAM classes on pre-service mathematics teachers' teaching competency for STEAM education. The study was conducted with 23 pre-service mathematics teachers who participated in the mentoring program affiliated with free learning semester system during one semester. To investigate the changes of pre-service mathematics teachers' teaching competencies for STEAM education and the effects of the mentoring program, pre, post questionnaires, lesson journals, and whole group discussion data were collected. According to the results, pre-service mathematics teachers' competencies for 'knowledge of STEAM education', 'subject matter knowledge', 'teaching and learning methods', and 'learning environments and circumstances' categories were improved significantly after the mentoring program. Especially, some results indicated that pre-service mathematics teachers' teaching experiences in real STEAM classrooms were very helpful for the development of understandings of STEAM education and construction of practical knowledge.

This study proposes a lesson design framework to design a science and engineering integrated lesson in a meaningful and easy way based on engineering design, which is the core feature of STEM education. The science and engineering integrated lesson design framework is developed based on the analysis of domestic and foreign theoretical and practical research papers and expert discussion on science and engineering integrated education as well as the feedbacks from science teachers. The science and engineering integrated lesson design framework uses engineering design as the main pedagogical method. The framework includes the core elements of the engineering integrated lesson suggested in previous studies and the achievement level of each grade group suggested in NGSS and provides a way for teachers to easily introduce engineering design into science classes. In addition, the framework developed in this study complements the shortcomings of the complicated Korean STEAM education framework. It can also provide specific guidance to in-service teachers as well as pre-service teachers to easily understand and apply engineering design and problem solving processes to science and engineering integrated lessons.

STEAM education has been introduced to resolve the existing problems of science education since 2011. However, as ICT develops rapidly, the future of the schools with various educational technologies is demanding for a new type of STEAM education. Therefore, the current research suggests CT-STEAM (Computational Thinking & STEAM) education, the new approach to provide integrated thinking based education with all sorts of computing devices. Firstly, the instruction model was developed as a fundamental step to introduce CT-STEAM in the real education scene. Then, lesson plan was developed as a implementation strategy, and it was tested for validity by computer education experts. It is hoped that the results of this study can enhance the understanding of CT and STEAM Education, also to provide baseline information to develop various teaching methods for integrated CT education.

The purpose of this study was to analyze Korea STEAM Programs in the perspective of Engineering Design. A pilot study of analyzing 41 STEAM programs was conducted by using Guzey et al. (2014)'s STEM program analysis framework. Based on the pilot study result, we suggested specific criteria to analyze Korea STEAM program and developed an analysis framework by considering characteristics of Korea STEAM program we found. The analysis framework suggested by this study has 5 more criteria compared to the Guzey et al. (2014)'s framework. By using the suggested framework, we analyzed another 76 STEAM programs developed by the grant of Korea foundation for the Admin of Science & Creativity (KOFAC) in 2016. The analysis results show that only 28.5% of total 76 Korea STEAM programs are focused on Engineering Design and the programs categorized as 'Complete Engineering Design Lesson' were only 5.4%. More than half of the programs (62.3%) are focused on only science contents with crafting and/or concept drawing activities.
The purpose of this study were to develop a M-STEAM program for first grades in elementary school and investigate the effects of the program on their learning motivation for the math subject and creative personality. For those purpose, this study set the following research questions. Research Question 1 : How will a M-STEAM program be devised applicable to first grades in elementary school? Research Question 2 : What kind of effect does a M-STEAM program have on the learning motivation and creative personality of students? The findings were as follows: First, lesson contents were reorganized by keeping the Unit 3 in the second semester of first grade in the current math curriculum under the convergence theme of "Build an environment friendly future city" to which the STEAM elements were added. Developed program promoted mathematical thinking ability for problem solving in the process of operating the number of blocks. Through the M-STEAM program, convergence thinking was created from a new perspective by exerting creativity in such process. Second, the STEAM program had effects on the learning motivation and creative personality of first graders in math subject. The t-test results show that the STEAM program developed in this study increased the fun and interest of students, helped with their concentration, and promoted their understanding of mathematical concepts. Therefore the M-STEAM program had positive impacts on the learning motivation and creative personality of first graders in math learning.
