사이징 프레스에서 폭 압하 공정중 결함 감소를 위한 엔빌의 형상설계 (Design of the anvil shape in sizing press for decrease of the defect generated width reduction)

  • Generally, the vertical roll process is used to achieve extensive width reduction in hot strip mill. However, it is difficult to avoid the defects such as dog-bone and seam-defect. The sizing press has been developed in response to the defects mentioned above. Especially, this study is carried out to investigate the deformation of slab by two-step sizing press. The deformation behavior in the width sizing process is more favorable than that in conventional vertical rolling edger. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal anvil shape parameters in the sizing press with two-step die from the viewpoint of edge-seam length. In general, the edge-seam defect occurs parallel to the rolling direction at both edges in horizontal rolling process after sizing press. The optimal combination of the parameters is determined by FE-simulation and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The slab deformation in sizing press with convex anvil is analyzed by FE-simulation. The most suitable profile of the anvil is also discussed fur the improvement of trimming loss because of the side seam defect by FE-simulation and ANN.

안벽 앞에 부분 잠긴 진자판에 의한 파랑에너지 추출 (Wave Energy Extraction using Partially Submerged Pendulum Plate with Quay Wall)

  • The performance of a wave energy converter (WEC) that uses the rolling motion of a partially submerged pendulum plate in front of a quay wall was analyzed. The wave exciting moment and hydrodynamic moment were obtained using a matched eigenfunction expansion method (MEEM) based on the linear potential theory, and then the roll motion response of a pendulum plate, time averaged extracted power, and efficiency were investigated. The optimal PTO damping coefficient was suggested to give the optimal extracted power. The peak value of the optimal extracted power occurs at the resonant frequency. The resonant peak and its width increase as the submergence depth of the pendulum plate decreases and thickness of the pendulum plate increases. An increase in the wave incidence angle reduces the efficiency of the wave energy converter. In addition, the WEC using a rolling pendulum plate contributes not only to the extraction of the wave energy, but also to a reduction in the waves reflected from the quay wall, which helps to stabilize ships going near the quay wall.

  • In the current study, Al-Mn-Zn alloys are strip-cast and used as the base alloy for the core of aluminum clad sheets used in automotive condenser fins. Transition elements such as Cu and Cr are added to the base core alloy in order to improve the properties of the clad sheets. The AA4343/Al-Mn-Zn-X(X: Cu, Cr)/AA4343 clad sheets are fabricated by roll bonding and further cold-rolled to a thickness of 0.08 mm. Clad sheets were intermediately annealed during cold rolling at $450^{\circ}C$ in order to obtain 40% reduction at the final thickness. Tensile strength and sag resistance of the clad sheets are improved by Cu additions to the core alloy, while corrosion resistance is also increased. Cr-additions to the clad sheets enhance sag resistance and provide low enough corrosion, although tensile strength is not improved. The effect of Cu and Cr additions on the properties of the clad sheets is elucidated by microstructural analysis.

안티롤링 추를 이용한 부유체의 롤링 저감 (Rolling Reduction of Floating body by Anti-Rolling Pendulum)

  • 부유체의 롤링은 심지어 구조물 전체를 전복시키고, 또 승조원의 피로를 누적시키고, 선체에 반복적인 외력을 가하는 등 부유체의 안정과 구조물의 안전에 심대한 영향을 끼친다. 그래서 거의 모든 선박의 경우에는 빌지킬을 설치하여 롤링을 감소시키고 있고, 특수한 경우에는 안티롤링 탱크나 핀 스테빌라이저나 자이로 스코프 등을 설치하여 롤링을 줄이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 안티롤링 추를 이용하여 부유체의 롤링을 줄이고자 한다. 보통 단진자라고 하면 질량체를 끈으로 어디엔가 고정시켜 놓고 자유롭게 흔들리는 구조를 말한다. 여기에서는 통상의 진자 대신에 추를 원궤도에 올려놓아서 단진동 운동을 하도록 하는 원리를 이용한다. 안티롤링 탱크의 물 대신 추를 이용하는 방식으로 약 1/6의 용적으로 안티롤링 탱크보다 더 좋은 효과를 낼 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 유한요소법을 통하여 유성압연기(planetary rolling mill)에 의한 동관 압연공정을 연구하였다. 이 압연은 3개의 롤에 의해 만네스만 공법으로 동관을 성형하는 공정이고, 냉간가공으로 시작하여 열간가공으로 종료되며, 기존의 압출방식에 비해 공정의 단축과 원가 절감의 장점을 갖고 있다. 압연공정은 다양하고 복합적인 공정변수 들을 포함하고 있고, 각각의 변수들은 성형결과에 영향을 미친다. 그러므로 동관압연의 모든 공정변수가 고려되어져야 한다. 동관 압연공정은 성공적으로 시뮬레이션 되었고 최적의 압연조건을 결정하는데 유용할 것이다.

  • 매몰 산화층 밑의 실리콘 기판에 자기정렬 방법으로 ground plane 전극을 만든 SOI MOSFET의 단채널 현상과 Punchthrough 특성을 측정·분석하였다. 채널 길이가 $0.2{\mu}m$ 이하의 소자에서는 GP-SOI 소자가 FD-SOI 소자보다 채널 길이에 따른 문턱전압 저하 및 subthreshold swing이 작고 DIBL 현상이 크게 개선됨을 알 수 있었다. 기판전압에 따른 문턱전압 특성으로부터 GP-SOI 소자의 body factor가 FD-SOI 소자보다 큰 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 punchthrough 전압 특성으로부터 GP-SOI 소자의 punchthrough 전압이 FD-SOI 소자보다 큰 것을 알 수 있었다.

건설업 협력회사 안전수준 향상 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Subcontractors' Safety Management System in Construction Industries)

  • Subcontractors have an increased risk of accidents compared to large contractors. Subcontractors' safety management system is in close association with workers in construction sites. Contractors should strengthen subcontractors' roll and responsibility and provide continual support to prevent an accident. And also these supporting system should be provided to subcontractors' headquarters as well as construction site. Contractors' priority management for subcontractors safety should be transferred from the post management for disciplinary action to the preventive management to improve subcontractors participation and safety performance. Subcontractors can not establish the safety management system with just a one time supporting only. Contractors support and monitoring should be provided to subcontractors regularly and continuously to establish their self safety management system. The subcontractors safety management system improvement program(SSMSIP) suggested in this study will be a effective supporting system for subcontractors to establish and improve their safety management system. If we carry out the objective and quantitative evaluations and supporting system such as SSMSIP and provide the consequential incentive program to subcontractors, it can contribute to the accident reduction.

격자 볼츠만법을 이용한 리튬이온전지의 전극내 전해액 함침현상에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study of Electrolyte Wetting Phenomena in the Electrode of Lithium Ion Battery Using Lattice Boltzmann Method)

  • 리튬이온전지의 다공성 전극내에서 전해액 주입 후 발생하는 함침현상에 관하여 격자 볼츠만법을 이용하여 수치해석적으로 연구하였다. 다공성 전극은 전극 제조 중 압연공정을 거치므로 압축된 전극의 공극률과 두께변화가 발생하여 전해액 함침성에 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 2 차원 격자 볼츠만법을 통하여 압축률에 따른 전해액 분포와 포화도 변화를 제시하였다. 압축된 전극에서의 전해액 침투경로의 변화는 기공의 두께방향 크기 감소에 기인하며, 따라서 전극의 함침성이 크게 감소하였음을 확인하였다.

순수 타이타늄 고강도화를 위한 인발공정설계 및 기계적 특성 제어 기술 (Drawing Process Design and Mechanical Properties Control for High Strengthening of CP Titanium)

  • CP (Commercially Pure) titanium has been widely used in various industries such as in energy plants and bio-materials because of an excellent corrosion resistance and its non-toxicity to the human body. But there are limitations for usage as structural materials due to low strength. The tensile properties of CP titanium could be improved by microstructure refinement such as in a SPD (Severe Plastic Deformation) process. However, high strengthening of CP titanium wire is impossible by SPD processes like ECAP (Equal Channel Angular Pressing), HPT (High-Pressure Torsion), and the ARB (Accumulative Roll Bonding) process. The study purposes are to increase the strength of CP titanium wire by optimization of the cold drawing process and the harmonization with mechanical properties by heat treatments for the next forming process. The optimization process was investigated with regard to the design of drawing dies and the reduction ratio of cross sections. The elongations of high strength CP titanium were controlled by heat treatment.

Filtered Velocity Feedback 제어기를 이용한 평판 능동진동제어 (Active Vibration Control of Plates Using Filtered Velocity Feedback Controllers)

  • This paper reports a filtered velocity feedback(FVF) controller, which is an alternative to direct velocity feedback(DVFB) controller. The instability problems at high frequencies due to non-collocated sensor/actuator configuration with the DVFB can be alleviated by the proposed FVF controller. The FVF controller is designed to filter out the unstable high frequency response. The dynamics of a clamped plate under forces and moments and the FVF controllers are formulated. The stability of the control system and performance are investigated with the open loop transfer function(OLTF). It is found that the FVF controller has a higher gain margin than the corresponding DVFB controller owing to the rapid roll-off behavior at high frequencies. Although the gain margin cannot be fully utilized because of the enhancement at the high frequencies, the vibration at the modes lower than the tuning frequency is well controlled. This performance of the FVF controller is shown to be improved from that of the DVFB controller. It is, however, noted that the stability around the tuning frequency is very sensitive so that the enhancement in vibration level should be followed. The reduction performance at low frequencies using the FVF controller should be compromised with the enhancement in the vibration at high frequencies while designing the controller.
