Robust $H_{\infty}$ Control Using SVM (SVM을 이용한 강인한 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기 구성)

  • In this paper, a sliding mode controller with SVM sliding surface is proposed. In the conventional sliding mode control, the dynamic of sliding surface is not as same as nominal dynamic of original system. Therefore the aim of this paper is to design sliding surface without defining any additional dynamic state by using support vector machines. As a result, the proposed controller can have the same dynamic of nominal system controlled by $H_{\infty}$ controller.

  • This paper presents a method for designing robust fuzzy $H^{\infty}$ controllers which stabilize nonlinear systems with parameter uncertainty adn guarantee an induced $L_{2}$ norm bound constraint on disturbance attenuation for all admissible uncertainties. Takagi and Sugeno's fuzzy models with uncertainty are used as the model for the uncertain nonlinear systems. Fuzzy control systems utilize the concept of so-called parallel distributed compensation(PDC). Using a single quadratic Lyapunov function, the stability condition satisfying decay rate and disturbance attenuation condition for Takagi and Sugeno's fuzzy model with parameter uncertainty are discussed. A sufficient condition for the existence of robust fuzzy $H^{\infty}$ controllers is then presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Finally, design examples of robust fuzzy $H^{\infty}$ controllers for uncertain nonlinear systems are presented.

  • ${\mu}$-synthesis is applied to design a robust controller for a seeker scan loop system which has model uncertainty and is subject to a external disturbance due to abrupt missile maneuver. The issue of modelling a real-valued parametric uncertainty of a physical seeker scan loop system is discussed. The two-degree-of-frame control structure is employed to obtain better performance. It is shown that ${\mu}$-synthesis provides a superior framework for the robust control design of a seeker scan loop system which exhibits robust performance. The proposed robust control system satisfies design requirements, and especially shows good scanning performances for conical and rosette scan patterns despite parametric uncertainty in real system model.

  • A submerged vehicle which is a nonlinear multivariable system must be designed to be roubst against inner-outer perturbations and hydrodynamic disturbances induces maneuvering operation. But a practical design of motion controller is limited by both mathematical modeling error and linearization errors. Performance of a motion controller based on traditional design method is very poor when the vehicle motion is under wave force distrubacnes near sea surface.   • This paper proposes a new $H_{\infty}$ yaw moment control scheme using brake torque switching for improving vehicle performance and stability especially in high speed driving. In the scheme, one wheel is selected, depending on the vehicle states, at which a brake torque for control is applied. Steering angles are modeled as a disturbance to the system and the $H_{\infty}$ controller is designed to minimize the difference between the performance of the vehicle and that of the desired model. Its performance robustness as well as stability robustness to system parameter variations is assured through ${\mu}$-analysis. Various simulations with a nonlinear 8-DOF vehicle model show that proposed controller enhances the vehicle performance and stability under disturbances and parameter variations as well as under the normal driving condition.

  • This paper proposes a new condition about delay-dependent robust $H_{\infty}$ control of uncertain linear systems with time-varying delay and randomly occurring disturbances. The norm bounded uncertainties are subjected to the system matrices. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, a sufficient condition for designing a controller gain such that the closed-loop systems are asymptotically stable with $H_{\infty}$ disturbance level ${\gamma}$ is formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, two numerical examples are included to show the effectiveness of the presented method.

  • With a given spring-mass-damper system, $H_{\infty}$ and ${\mu}$-synthesis control methods are used to build system controllers which minimize vibrations at two major natural frequencies in two cases; without uncertainty; with 20% uncertainty. In order to check the stability and performance of two controllers, those are examined using GM and PM values. The signal strength of output responses is compared using the concept of central numerical differentiation and then results are quantified using the RMS method. Lastly, 40 random samples of $H_{\infty}$ and ${\mu}$-synthesis controllers are obtained for three different $W_{per\;f1}$ weighting functions and drawn in the time domain in order to compare the stability. Overall, ${\mu}$-synthesis controller manages the vibrations much better than $H_{\infty}$ controller according to the robust stability and performance values obtained by simulating random samples of 40 plant models.

  • In this study, a synchronous controller algorithm being applicable to two-axis position synchronzation is developed. Based on coupling structure, the synchronous control system is composed of speed and synchronous controllers. The speed controller is designed to follow a speed reference. In addition, the synchronous controller is designed from the viewpoint of accurate synchronization and robust stability in H$\infty$ synthesis. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented controller is demonstrated through extensive experiments.

Robust H∞ Fuzzy Control for Discrete-Time Nonlinear Systems with Time-Delay (시간 지연을 갖는 이산 시간 비선형 시스템에 대한 H∞ 퍼지 강인 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, a robust $H\infty$ stabilization problem to a uncertain discrete-time nonlinear systems with time-delay via fuzzy static output feedback is investigated. The Takagj-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent an uncertain nonlinear system with time-delayed state. Then, the parallel distributed compensation technique is used for designing of the robust fuzzy controller. Using a single Lyapunov function, the globally asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed-loop fuzzy control system are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of robust $H\infty$ controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities via similarity transform and congruence transform technique. We have shown the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through the simulation.

  • This paper deals with the robust two-degree-of-freedom multivariable control system using $H_{2}/H{\infty}$optimization method which can achieve the robust stability and the robust performance, simultaneously. The feedback controller can obtain the robust stability property. The feedforward controller can obtain the robust performance property under modelling error. The robust two-degree-of-freedom multivariable control system is applied to the nonlinear multivariable boiler-turbine system. The validity of the proposed method is verified though being compared with LQG/LTR design method.
