  • This study tried to derive improvement measures by identifying the perceptions of industrial college instructors and learners in the technology convergence sector, where various technologies are combined, as distance education at colleges are prolonged due to COVID-19 and difficulties for instructors and learners continue. To this end, an online survey was conducted on automobile professors and students at the end of the second semester of 2020. As a result of the survey analysis, it was found that professors and students had similar perceptions about the advantages of online classes, such as freedom of time and space, repeatable learning, and recycling. In terms of difficulties, it was found that students felt a decrease in learning immersion due to a lack of sense of presence, and both professors and students felt the difficulty of interaction relatively large. This study is meaningful in that it prepares suggestions and basic data on college policy support for online education at industrial colleges during and after COVID-19.

  • In order to understand the trends of collaborative research in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) in Korea, this study analyzed bibliometric data and keywords of 5,383 Journal papers by 195 Korean LIS professors from 2000 to 2017 as well as the author credit allocation formulas of 26 Korean university research evaluation criteria. Examination of university research evaluation criteria revealed co-authors' credit level to be generally much lower than that of single authors, which in turn reduces the relative value of collaborative research. As a result, recent journals publish more co-authored papers than single author papers both domestically and internationally. The study also found collaborative research to be less prevalent in private universities than national universities and least prevalent in associate professors among professors. Furthermore, keyword analysis of study data revealed the emerging topics of both domestic and international collaborative research to be those that reflect social phenomena as well as those that relate to information science employing new technologies.

  • A survey was conducted to analyze the perceptions related to research performance evaluation from 2,618 professors. The survey is to find out the perception about two parts. One is a survey of professors' perceptions about the faculty performance evaluation, which is currently being conducted at each university. The other is that we analyzed the perception of the introduction of qualitative performance evaluation indicators, an alternative to the quantitative performance evaluation. As a result, we confirmed followings. Quantitative research performance evaluation is carried out in most universities. Research performance evaluation is not appropriate for a department or research field. And an extension of the evaluation period is required. Quantitative evaluation have a negative impact on the academic community. Quantitative evaluation needs to be improved. As regard to the introduction of the qualitative evaluation, we confirmed that professors perceived that qualitative evaluation is necessary to evaluate research performance, and they also have negative opinions about introduction of qualitative evaluation.

  • The purpose of the study is to draw competencies of faculty members at graduate school faculty to implements the NCS-based curriculum. A set of competency was deductively derived from a total of three professors and consultants with more than ten-year experiences and has been involved in developing the college curriculum. The political endeavors of the Korean government toward the competency-based education have been implemented as a movement to the NCS-based curriculum. The requirements for the reorganization of curriculum and education system as well as cooperation among faculty, industry, region and development part of NCS were suggested for the activation of NCS based education and the operation of NCS. However, one of the most critical factors in introducing and implementing the NCS-based curriculum is the role of faculty members. Therefore, it is an urgent issue to equip the faculties with required competencies. Result showed that the competencies required professors at graduate school for the NCS-based curriculum implementation were classified into four areas: marco-level curriculum development; micro-level course design; knowledge across areas; and attitude across areas.

  • This study has been conducted on the basis of the literature review of Nursing Education Research in China from 1990 through August 1998. Its purpose was to support the basic data of nursing education which is risen as major revolutionary of nursing in China and those for exchange of information between Korea-China nursing education. It is retrospective and descriptive research analyzing one hundred eighty articles published in The Journal of China Nursing. The results of the study were as follows. 1. Only 33.3% of the professors of Technical Nursing School who have played of major role of nursing education in China have carried out the study related to nursing education. Baccalaureate program professors have marked 22.2% of all studies, and diploma program professors have done 12.2% of all. Therefore, the professors of above the diploma program have done total 44.4%. It explains that the professors of baccalaureate and diploma programs have done more studies related to nursing education than those of Technical Nursing School. 2. In terms of the study design, most of the studies(38.8%) were case studies introducing the curriculum contents that were done at education institutions. And then, 28.5% were reviewing the articles, and 15.6% were descriptive studies. 3. In terms of the content of the study, 38.3% were relevant to education of Technical Nursing School, 15.0% were about baccalaureate education, and 10.4% is about diploma. 4. To analyze the specific contents of the studies ; a. In baccalaureate program, human resources (professor or teaching), course extension, lab, classes, teaching method, education philosophy, goal of education, evaluation method, and human resource development were included. b. In diploma program, teaching contents evaluation method, teaching method, and educational system were included c. In the technical school, there were qualification of professors , teaching method, evaluation method, opening the courses, teaching contents, goal of education and so on. d. Beyond these, there were practice guidance and appraisement, teaching method, and opening new courses which were not specially indicated as educational curriculum and score management as continuing education. What is above tell us that the study regarding development of university system has been progressed actively and widely. It has been for the effort of revolution which based on the China government force to reform of nursing education process during last 10 years. On the base of the result, we suggest the following questions and the alternatives. 1) Since most articles are case studies related to teaching methods and the others doesn't propose the research method. the study which is applied more exact research method is needed. 2) No study is regarding social change and health policy. Because University program, founded in 1983 is on the beginning point, the research about curriculum have to be taken as a top priority as well as to reflect social needs which are based on social changes and national health policy 3) Only one review article study tells nursing Human resource. To appear in large numbers in nursing manpower, avoid the present hospital nurses training system. Then, the study for manpower development which is able to accomplish in many fields has to be advanced. 4) Most studies did not have literature review processes, so it was impossible for researcher to know the past study tendency and there is no relation among studies as to same subject, the education about research method is needed.

Data were collected from 199 professors teaching in the areas of Fundamental Nursing (48 subjects), Adult Nursing(56 subjects), Pediatric Nursing(49 subjects), and Community Health Nursing(46 subjects). 120 professors were from 3-year college of nursing and 79 professors were from 4-year college of nursing, Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation), and ANOVA with SPSS $PC^+$ program. The results are as follows. 1) The general attitude of the subjects toward the use of instructional media was positive(mean : 3.75). However, from the ANOVA result the subjects from 4-year college of nursing had more positive attitudes in the areas of media utilization and supply system. Most subjects had high interest in the areas of effectiveness of the media, and media literacy in using instructional media. 2) OHP(mean was 3.76) and VTR(mean was 3.36) were the most used instructional media in nursing education. These media were efficiently supplied by the school. However, other media like CD-ROM, Opaque Projector, and LCD or beam Projector were not sufficiently provided by the school. 3) The main reasons to use instructional media were that the use of media is effective to raise students' attention and learning motivation. 4) Insufficiency of the media and environment to use media were the causes of the lack of using instructional media. 5) The use of PC communication of internet, LCD or beam Projector, and Computer Graphics was low. The reasons were that the subjects did not have enough knowledge and skills to use these media, and there was lack of media or environment. 6) In general, environment to use media of the 3-year college of nursing was worse than that of 4-year college of nursing. However, there was no significant differences between the two groups in the use of media related to their position, and subject. On the basis of the study results professors teaching nursing have positive attitudes to use instructional media but the lack of media supply or facility to use media limited the use of instructional media.
