This paper provides some properties of positive real systems in time domain. It is well-known that a positive real system and a bounded real system are closely related by bilinear transform in a frequency domain. By using supply rate and storage function, we show that a positive real system can be transformed into a bounded real system, and that a positive real system can be transformed into another positive real system with in a time domain. Also, we show that an ESPR(extended strictly positive real) system can be decomposed into a feedback system of lossless positive real system and another ESPR system. These results may be used to design an output feedback controller for mixed H$H_2$ESPR problem.

This paper is on the generalized singular perturbation approximation (GSPA) preserving the discrete positive real property. We transform the discrete positive real(PR) system into a stochastically banlanced system and get the reduced order discrete system from the GSPA of the full order stochastically balanced system. eSPECIALLY, WHEN THE FREE PARAMETER OF THE gspa IS .+-.1, we show that the reduced order discrete system retains stability, minimality, and positive real and stochstically balancing properties. And we derived the .inf.-norm error bound with the reduced order discrete strictly positive real(SPR) system by the proposed method. Finally, we give an example to ascertain the properties of the proposed reduced order discrete system and to compare with the conventional methods.

The Positive List System was newly introduced in South Korea as of January 2007. This study aims to survey and compare perception of and attitudes toward the Positive List System in the process of new drug listing that health professionals and pharmaceutical companies have. 50 professionals and 52 companies answered the questionnaire regarding health policy environments, policy decision/enforcement process, policy effects and satisfaction related to introducing the Positive List System. SAS 9.1 was used for statistical analyses. The results showed that participants had the general sympathy with health policy environments for the introduction of the Positive List System into South Korea. However, the response rates of policy decision/enforcement process and effects were negative and these tendencies were more striking in pharmaceutical companies. As for policy satisfaction, participants marked positive responses more than negative ones. It is necessary to remedy and supplement problems with policy decision/enforcement policy and effects revealed in this study and to improve the Positive List System through gathering opinions among groups and organization concerned.

In this paper, a diffusive predator-prey system with Beddington DeAngelis functional response and the modified Leslie-Gower type predator dynamics when a prey population is infected is considered. The predator is assumed to predate both the susceptible prey and infected prey following the Beddington-DeAngelis functional response and Holling type II functional response, respectively. The predator follows the modified Leslie-Gower predator dynamics. Both the prey, susceptible and infected, and predator are assumed to be distributed in-homogeneous in space. A reaction-diffusion equation with Neumann boundary conditions is considered to capture the dynamics of the prey and predator population. The global attractor and persistence properties of the system are studied. The priori estimates of the non-constant positive steady state of the system are obtained. The existence of non-constant positive steady state of the system is investigated by the use of Leray-Schauder Theorem. The existence of non-constant positive steady state of the system, with large diffusivity, guarantees for the occurrence of interesting Turing patterns.

This paper considers the stability of positive steady-state solutions bifurcating from the trivial solution in a delayed Lotka-Volterra two-species predator-prey diffusion system with a discrete delay and subject to the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions on a general bounded open spatial domain with smooth boundary. The existence, uniqueness and asymptotic expressions of small positive steady-sate solutions bifurcating from the trivial solution are given by using the implicit function theorem. By regarding the time delay as the bifurcation parameter and analyzing in detail the eigenvalue problems of system at the positive steady-state solutions, the asymptotic stability of bifurcating steady-state solutions is studied. It is demonstrated that the bifurcating steady-state solutions are asymptotically stable when the delay is less than a certain critical value and is unstable when the delay is greater than this critical value and the system under consideration can undergo a Hopf bifurcation at the bifurcating steady-state solutions when the delay crosses through a sequence of critical values.

Purpose - This study investigates factors that affected the utilization of trade support policies and further analyzed how the utilization of trade support policies affected export performance. Research design, data, and methodology - With a sample of 223 small and medium-sized export firms from South Korea, this study examines the determinants of the utilization level of trade support system such as export market orientation, learning orientation, network capability and environmental uncertainty by regression analysis. Results - Export market orientation have a positive effect on the utilization of the trade support system and there is positive relationship between learning orientation and the utilization of trade support system. And network capabilities have had a positive impact on the utilization of the trade support system but there is no relationship between environmental uncertainty and the utilization of trade support system. The utilization of the trade support system had a positive effect on export performance. Conclusions - The internal and external factors of the organization have affected small and medium-sized export firms use of trade support systems. The utilization of trade support system can enhance positive export performance by providing valuable information and resource to external knowledge and also to complementary resources from the external partners.

초고압 용적형 펌프는 로터의 회전에 의한 주기적인 용적의 변화를 이용하는 펌프로 고압, 고유량을 동시에 만족하며 로터의 저속 및 고속 회전에 따라 변화 없이 일정하게 상대적으로 높은 펌프 효율을 유지할 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 많이 사용되고 있는 원심펌프와는 달리 별도의 진공펌프가 없이도 자흡 성능을 가지고 있으며, 비교적 단순한 구조로 인하여 경량화, 소형화가 가능한 특성을 자기고 있다. 유체를 높은 압력으로 이송할 수 있으며, 압력의 변동에 따라 유량의 변동이 적은 정량 토출이 가능하다. 이러한 용적형 펌프를 사용하는 이유는 흡입된 유체가 유량의 변화 없이 토출되는 장점이 있기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 유량의 변화가 없다는 장점이 있는 용적형 펌프의 체절시스템을 개발하여 펌프의 고압 운전시의 안전성을 확보하고자 하였다. 체절시스템은 컨트롤러 프로그램, 전자클러치, 릴리프밸브의 3가지로 이루어져, 한 가지 시스템이 작동하지 않아도 다른 시스템이 작동하는 시스템으로 이루어져 있다. 컨트롤러 프로그램과 전자 클러치의 작동을 확인하기 위한 과속도 시험과 릴리프 밸브의 유체유동해석, venting 실험을 통해 현재 개발한 초고압 용적형 펌프의 체절시스템이 작동됨을 확인하였다.

We discuss the existence of positive solutions to a certain nonlinear elliptic system representing a competition interaction with self-diffusion. The method used here is a fixed point index theory in a positive cone. We give a sufficient condition for the existence of positive solutions.

We discuss the coexistence of positive solutions to certain strongly-coupled predator-prey elliptic systems under the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The sufficient condition for the existence of positive solutions is expressed in terms of the spectral property of differential operators of nonlinear Schrödinger type which reflects the influence of the domain and nonlinearity in the system. Furthermore, applying the obtained results, we investigate the sufficient conditions for the existence of positive solutions of a predator-prey system with degenerate diffusion rates.
