Recently, concrete has been made porous and used for sound absorption, water permeation, vegetation and water purification according to void characteristics. Many studies are carried out on the utilization of sewage sludge, fly ash and waste concrete to reduce the environmental load. This study was performed to evaluate the void, strength, relationship between void and strength, permeability and chemical resistance properties of porous polymer concrete for pavement with different fillers. An unsaturated polyester resin was used as a binder, crushed stone and natural sand were used as an aggregate and bottom ash, fly ash and blast furnace slag were used as fillers. The mix proportions were determined to satisfy the requirement for the permeability coefficient, $1{\times}10^{-2}$ cm/s for general permeable cement concrete pavement in Korea. The void ratios of porous polymer concrete with fillers were in the range of $18{\sim}23%$. The compressive strength and flexural load of porous polymer concrete with fillers were in the range of $19{\sim}22$ MPa and $18{\sim}24$ KN, respectively. The permeability coefficients of porous polymer concrete with fillers were in the range of $5.5{\times}10^{-1}{\sim}9.7{\times}10^{-2}$ cm/s. At the sulfuric acid resistance, the weight reduction ratios of porous polymer concrete immersed during 8-week in 5% $H_{2}SO_{4}$ were in the range of $1.08{\sim}3.56%$.

This study evaluated the mechanical characteristics and durability of porous concrete produced with a cementless binder based on ground granulated blast furnace slag (BFS), fly ash (FA) and flue gas desulfurization gypsum (CP). As a result, the void ratio was increased slightly from the target void ratio, by 1.12-1.42 %. Through evaluating the compressive strength, it was found that the compressive strength of porous concrete with cementless binder decreased in comparison to the compressive strength of porous concrete with ordinary Portland cement (OPC), but the difference was insignificant, at 0.6-1.4 MPa. Through the freeze-thawing test to evaluate the durability, it was found that the relative dynamic elastic modulus of porous concrete with cementless binder decreased to 60 % or less at 80 cycles. The result of the chemical resistance test showed that the mass reduction rate was 12.3 % at 5 % HCl solution, and 12.7 % at 12.3 and 5 % $H_2SO_4$ solutions.

As a fundamental study on the development of porous concrete for planting, this study is designed to present the properties of porous concrete by varying the kinds of cement, paste to aggregate ratio and dosage of AE admixture. As the results of experiment, the void volumes show 30~33%, 25~ 28% and 17~22% respectively, with paste to aggregate ratio of 20%, 30% and 40%. And unit weight is 1700~1900kg/㎥ while compressive strengths 40~60, 8 0~100 and 120~150kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$. pH of concrete shows a sufficient value at which the plant could grow, when the concrete is permeated in Ammonium Phosphate Dibasic for more than 1 hour. In brief, it shows a possibility of development of porous concrete if the concrete is permeated with permeating in Ammonium Phosphate Dibasic for more than 1 hour when the blast furnace slag cement is used.

Recently, improvements in the standard of living in industrial area require the establishment of a convenient residential environment in order to enhance the quality of living. To achieve such an environment, it is necessary to effectively reduce or prevent various environmental problems occurring in and around residential areas. Although conventional concrete has been regarded as a destroyer of nature, water and air can pass freely through concrete when it is made porous concrete by forming continuous void. In view of the harmony between nature and concrete, various research paths are being taken focusing on coarse aggregates to make porous concrete having continuous voids so as to improve water and air permeability, acoustic absorption, water purification, and applicability to vegetation. In this study, the Physical and Mechanical Properties of porous concrete according to compaction method analyzed by void ratio, coefficient of permeability and compressive strength.
The purpose of this research provides the basic solution about waterfront and promotes the inherent capability, that recoveries both the river and gives the river for water quality to improve plan. In this study, we compare and analysis the slope contact between filter media of the porous concrete and planting concrete. As a result, when appling the porous concrete, it can show the removal efficiency is SS 53%, BOD 39%, COD 20%, T-N 36% T-P 42% and appling planting concrete is SS 58%, BOD42%, COD 26%, T-N 45%, T-P 53%. Therefore, planting concrete is higher removal efficiency (SS 5%, BOD 3%, COD 6%, T-N 9%, T-P 10%) than porous concrete. The experimental results show that using purification filter media on planting concrete is better than on porous concrete, because it have the higher purification filter efficiency. The quality of water improves vegetarian concrete, that can expect the increase of the self-purification capacity and improve the spectacle for providing the waterside and planting of planting concrete. In addition, it can complete and apply the research if having enough time for experimentation and accurate study for mechanism by plant, we can use both planting concrete filter media and the existing dike. As a result, we can gain the better quality of the water of the city's rivers and good economic value, that is spread by all cities applicable technologies. So it can be expected using well for future.

The physical, mechanical and freezing and thawing properties of non cement porous vegetation concrete using non-sintering inorganic binder have been evaluated in this study. Four types of porous vegetation concrete according to the binder type is evaluated. The pH value, void ratio, compressive strength, repeated freezing and thawing properties were tested. The test results indicate that the physical, mechanical and repeated freezing and thawing properties of porous vegetation concrete using the non-sintering inorganic binder is increased or equivalent compared to the porous vegetation concrete using the blast furnace slag + cement and hwang-toh + cement binders. Also, Vegetation monitoring test results indicate the porous vegetation concrete using the non-sintering inorganic binder have increasing effects of vegetation growth.
This study was performed to improve water quality of stream by applying hydraulic structures (weir and river bed material) made of porous concrete. The physical and chemical characteristics of porous concrete were measured to estimate application possibility of it in hydraulic structures and it was considered as a proper material for the hydraulic structures. In the results of comparison for the component of matters attached on the hydraulic structures made of porous and ordinary concrete, DW (dry weight) amount attached on porous concrete was 1.6 times higher than that on ordinary concrete under the condition of the same flow rate but influence by flow rate (difference of 10 times) was not shown. Therefore, we could understand that the material of media was more important in DW amount than flow rate. The rate of AFDM (ash free dry mass) to DW also was more at porous concrete than at ordinary concrete. Especially, the high rates of nitrogen and phosphorous in matters attached on porous concrete verify that they were removed by assimilation, adsorption and metabolism of periphyton. The removal percentage of SS, BOD, COD, T-N and T-P by hydraulic structures applying porous concrete compared with ordinary concrete was increased by 34.6%, 36.9%, 33.9%, 18.3% and 21.6%, respectively. Therefore, applying porous concrete to hydraulic structure is expected to contribute to improvement of stream water quality.

Recently great efforts and investment have been made in order to achieve economical production by applying new methods like minimization of man-Power into construction field. This paper describe the performance of water purification, to which living organisms can adapt, and the physical properties of porous concrete with continuous voids. Although conventional concrete has been regarded as a destroyer of nature, water and air can pass freely through concrete when it is made porous by forming continuous voids. this not only enables plants to vegetables, but also makes it possible for microscopic animals and plants, including bacteria, to attach to and inhabit uneven surface as well as internal voids when the concrete is provided in a natural water area or waterside area. As a result, Porous concrete using recycled aggregate improved the performance of water purification.

In this study, mix proportioning of porous concrete with compressive strength and porosity exceeding 3MPa and 30%, respectively, was examined and then load capacity and flexural toughness of the porous concrete block were evaluated according to the different arrangements of the GFRP bars. To achieve the designed requirements of porous concrete, it can be recommended that water-to-cement ratio and cement-to-coarse aggregate ratio are 25% and 20%, respectively, under the aggregate particle distribution of 15~20mm. The failure mode of porous concrete blocks reinforced with GFRP bars was governed by shear cracks. As a result, very few flexural resistance of the GFRP was expected. However, the enhanced shear strength of porous concrete due to the dowel action of the GFRP bars increased the load capacity and toughness of the blocks. The porous concrete blocks reinforced with one GFRP bar at each compressive and tensile regions had 2.1 times higher load capacity than the companion non-reinforced block and exhibited a high ductile behavior with the ultimate toughness index ($I_{30}$) of 43.4.
