This paper presents a multi-channel transceiver that achieves a data rate of 3.125Gb/s/ch. The LVDS is used because of its noise immunity and low power consumption. And a pre-emphasis circuit is also proposed to increase the transmitter speed. On the receiver side, a low-power CDR(clock and data recovery) using 1/4-rate clock based on dual-interpolator is proposed. The CDR generates needed additional clocks in each recovery part internally using only inverters. Therefore each part can be supplied with the same number of 1/4-rate clocks from a clock generator as in 1/2-rate clock method. Thus, the reduction of a clock frequency relaxes the speed limitation and lowers power dissipation. The prototype chip is comprised of two channels and was fabricated in a $0.18{\mu}m$ standard CMOS process. The output jitter of transmitter is loops, peak-to-peak(0.31UI) and the measured recovered clock jitter is 47.33ps, peak-to-peak which is equivalent to 3.7% of a clock period. The area of the chip is $3.5mm^2$ and the power consumption is about 119mW/ch.
Many methods have been developed to overcome the PAPR(peak-to-average power ratio) problem. Selective mapping(SLM) partial transmit sequence(PTS), subblock phase weighting(SPW) and gradient descent(GD) are used widely to reduce the PAPR. In this paper, we present a effective PAPR reduction method, decrease the calculation through Radix-2 DIF IFFT procedure and GD method. and can transmit selecting data sequence that satisfy threshold value as one part of proposed method, in case satisfy fixed threshold value, or transmit selecting data sequence with the lower papr operating remained part for performance improvement.
a current stress reduction technique for a boost integrated half-bridge (BIHB) DC/DC converter with voltage doubler type rectifier is proposed for digital car audio amplifier application. In the proposed circuit, two external capacitors are added parallel to the rectifier diodes in the secondary side of the transformer to shape the primary and the secondary current like rectangular waveforms in every switching instance. The experimental results of a 200W industrial sample show that the peak primary current decreases about by 10A. Thus, the proposed technique shows improved high efficiency.

We investigate the adaptive channel attenuation compensation of satellite OFDMA downlink users for minimum PAR (Peak to Average power Ratio), which is one of the main challenging issues in satellite OFDMA application. First, we analyze and compare PAR performances of two main different channel attenuation compensation schemes for OFDMA, i.e., PC-OFDMA (power control OFDMA) and AMC-OFDMA (Adaptive Modulation and Coding). While AMC-OFDMA maintains the constant transmission powers through entire user data subcarriers, PC-OFDMA has non-uniform subcarrier transmission powers because subcarrier powers are separately controlled to compensate each user's sub-channel attenuation. We newly found the fact that non-uniform subcarrier power in PC-OFDMA achieves rather reduced PAR compared to AMC-OFDMA and the amount of reduction becomes larger as the power differences among subcarriers increase. Also, there is an additional PAR reduction in PC-OFDMA by optimizing subcarrier grouping scheme for user's sub-channelization.

Power consumption during test can be much higher than that during normal operation since test vectors are determined independently. In order to reduce the power consumption during test process, a new BIST(Built-In Self Test) architecture is proposed. In the proposed architecture, test vectors generated by an LFSR(Linear Feedback Shift Resister) are transformed into the new patterns with low transitions using Bit Generator and Bit Dropper. Experiments performed on ISCAS'89 benchmark circuits show that transition reduction during scan testing can be achieved by 62% without loss of fault coverage. Therefore the new architecture is a viable solution for reducing both peak and average power consumption.

According to the continuous demand for power and the growth of electric power utilities, the electric power transmission capacity was increased. The increase of the electric power transmission capacity results in an increase of the fault current level a fault happened. So the superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) has been reached as the countermeasure for the reduction of the fault current. In this paper, we investigate the fault currents characteristics of resistive type SFCL according to fault angles when AC power source applied. As the fault angles increase, the first peak value of fault current decreased lower. On the other hand, the power burden of SFCL increased.

The effect of gaseous ammonia direct injection on the engine performance and exhaust emissions in gasoline-ammonia dual fueled spark-ignition engine was investigated in this study. Results show that based on the gasoline contribution engine power increases as the ammonia injection timing and duration is advanced and increased, respectively. However, as the initial amount of gasoline is increased the maximum power output contribution from ammonia is reduced. For gasoline-ammonia, the appropriate injection timing is found to range from 320 BTDC at low loads to 370 BTDC at high loads and the peak pressures are slightly lower than that for gasoline due to the slow flame speed of ammonia, resulting in the reduction of combustion efficiency. The brake specific energy consumption (BSEC) for gasoline-ammonia has little difference compared to the BSEC for gasoline only. Ammonia direct injection causes slight reduction of $CO_2$ and CO for all presented loads but significantly increases HC due to the low combustion efficiency of ammonia. Also, ammonia direct injection results in both increased ammonia and NOx in the exhaust due to formation of fuel NOx and ammonia slip.
Physical layer security (PLS) can improve the security of both terrestrial and nonterrestrial wireless communication networks. This study proposes a simplified framework for nonterrestrial cyclic prefixed orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF)-encoded multiple-input and multiple-output nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems to ensure complete network security. Various useful methods are implemented, where both improved sine map and multiple parameter-weighted-type fractional Fourier transform encryption schemes are combined to investigate the effects of hybrid PLS. In addition, OVSF coding with power domain NOMA for multi-user interference reduction and peak-toaverage power ratio (PAPR) reduction is introduced. The performance of $\frac{1}{2}$-rated convolutional, turbo, and repeat and accumulate channel coding with regularized zero-forcing signal detection for forward error correction and improved bit error rate (BER) are also investigated. Simulation results ratify the pertinence of the proposed system in terms of PLS and BER performance improvement with reasonable PAPR.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) that is very useful for the high-speed communication system has serious problem of high peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) in time domain. Because of this, the non-linear distortion can be produced and system performance gets worse. CI-OFDM system can get the peak power lowered. In this CI-OFDM system, each parallel data is distributed into N all sub-carriers and conveyed by the orthogonal phase factor. Also, CI-OFDM shows frequency diversity effect. Therefore, CI-OFDM system is better than ordinary OFDM system in terms of BER performance and the PAPR reduction. When it is implemented, however, there is a serious problem whether it can separate and compensate the phase factor in order in the receiver. Because all bits are transmitted simultaneously over all subcarriers and each other phase factors in transmitter. In this paper, we propose and evaluate a FD-CI-OFDM system that is a version of improved CI-OFDM. This is designed by use of the Walsh Hadamard sequence. The FD-CI-OFDM shows better performance than ordinary OFDM and CI-OFDM system.

HPA is one of the most essential device in wireless communication systems. However, because of nonlinear characteristic of HPA transmit signal is distorted with both amplitude and phase, this distortion leads to deepening adjacent channel interference. So a technique to change the nonlinear characteristic with linear characteristic is needed. In this paper, Among all techniques, we adopts a polynomial pre-distortion technique. Pre-distorted signal by pre-distorter has opposite characteristic with HPA. In result, the signal passed through pre-distorter and HPA has linear characteristic. But the accuracy of opposite characteristic of HPA is decreased at near portion of saturation point. So we improve the accuracy of opposite characteristic of HPA by using PAPR reduction method. In this paper, an adaptive polynomial pre-distortion technique is introduced to counterbalance the nonlinear characteristic of the transmit power amplifier, and a PAPR reduction method is introduced to increase efficiency of polynomial pre-distorter.
