Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization-Time-of-Flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) is the most widely used MS technique for glycan analysis. However, the poor point-to-point and sample-to-sample reproducibility becomes a limit in glycan biomarker research. A prespotted MALDI plate which overcomes the large crystal formation of 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB) has been developed and applied for glycan analysis. A homogeneous matrix coated surface without a crystal structure was formed on a hydrophilic/ hydrophobic patterned surface using a piezoelectric device. The reproducible MALDI-TOF-MS data have been presented using MALDI imaging of beer glycan as well as serum glycan eluted from 10% and 20% ACN elution fractions. The glycan profile from the serum glycan by MALDI-TOF-MS with a DHB prespotted plate was highly conserved for 10 different spectra and the coefficient of variations of significant ion peaks of MALDI data varies from 3.59 to 19.95.
In this paper, we propose a new machine vision algorithm for automatic defect detection on patterned textures with the help of texture-periodicity and the Jensen-Shannon Divergence, which is a symmetrized and smoothed version of the Kullback-Leibler Divergence. Input defective images are split into several blocks of the same size as the size of the periodic unit of the image. Based on histograms of the periodic blocks, Jensen-Shannon Divergence measures are calculated for each periodic block with respect to itself and all other periodic blocks and a dissimilarity matrix is obtained. This dissimilarity matrix is utilized to get a matrix of true-metrics, which is later subjected to Ward's hierarchical clustering to automatically identify defective and defect-free blocks. Results from experiments on real fabric images belonging to 3 major wallpaper groups, namely, pmm, p2, and p4m with defects, show that the proposed method is robust in finding fabric defects with a very high success rates without any human intervention.

We comprehensively investigated the wrinkles of a stiff layer covering a spherical void embedded in a rubber matrix after the void experienced inflation or contraction. We developed an easy experimental way to realize the inflation and contraction of the voids. The inflation took place in a void right beneath the surface of the matrix and the contraction happened in a void at the bottom of the rubber matrix. In the inflation, the wrinkle at the center of the deformation was random, and the pattern propagated into rabyrinthine, herringbone, and then oriented parallel lines as the position was away from the center of the inflation to the edge. The cracks were concentric, which were perpendicular to the parallel wrinkled pattern. In the contraction, the wrinkle was simply concentric around the surface of the void without any crack. The cracks were found only near the center of the deformation. The strain distribution in the stiff layer after the inflation and contraction was theoretically analyzed with simulations that were in excellent agreement with the experimental results.
Organic thin film transitors(OTFT) are of interest for use in broad area electronic applications. And recently organic electroluminescent devices(OELD) have been intensively investigated for using in full-color flat-panel display. We have fabricated inverted-staggered structure OTFTs at lower temperature using the fused-ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon pentacene as the active eletronic material and photoacryl as the organic gate insulator. The field effect mobility is 0.039∼0.17 ㎠/Vs, on-off current ratio is 10$\^$6/, and threshold voltage is -7V. And here we report the study of driving emitting, Ir(ppy)$_3$, phosphorescent OELD with all organic thin film transistor and investigated its electrical characteristics. The OELD with a structure of ITO/TPD/8% Ir(ooy)$_3$ doped in BCP/BCP/Alq$_3$/Li:Al/Al and OTFT with a structure of inverted-stagged Al(gate electrode)/photoacry(gate insulator)/pentacene(p-type organic semiconductor)/ Au(source-drain electrode) were fabricated on the ITP patterned glass substrate. The electrical characteristics are turn-on voltage of -10V, and maximum luminance of about 90 cd/㎡. Device characteristics were quite different with that of only OELD.
TFT LCD industries have endeavored to adopt the piezo Drop-On-Demand (DOD) inkjet printing technology to production lines of TFT LCD color filters and these efforts have significantly been based on experimental works. Because the degree of complexity in the piezo DOD inkjet printing technology results in too many combination of parameters, the matrix experimental method to investigate all possible sets of parameters becomes ineffective and hence the basic understanding of the piezo Drop-On-Demand inkjet print technology becomes important. In this study, one possible cause of the droplet volume variation across nozzles, which might cause visible swathe marks on an inkjet patterned TFT LCD color filter, is theoretically investiaged and new R&D directions are suggested.

We report highly efficient phosphorescent-dye-doped polymeric light-emitting devices. The devices consist of a polymeric light-emitting layer comprising the phosphorescent dye, host, and matrix polymers. We patterned the phosphorescent-dye-doped polymeric layer with the LITI technique. The devices showed high efficiencies and good pattern quality to adapt to the development of full-color electroluminescent (EL) devices.
In this work, we report a delta rosette strain sensor based on highly stretchable silver nanowire (AgNW) percolation piezoresistors. The proposed rosette strain sensors were easily prepared by a facile two-step fabrication route. First, three identical AgNW piezoresistive electrodes were patterned in a simple and precise manner on a donor film using a solution-processed drop-coating of the AgNWs in conjunction with a tape-type shadow mask. The patterned AgNW electrodes were then entirely transferred to an elastomeric substrate while embedding them in the polymer matrix. The fabricated stretchable AgNW piezoresistors could be operated at up to 20% strain without electrical or mechanical failure, showing a maximum gauge factor as high as 5.3, low hysteresis, and high linearity ($r^2{\approx}0.996$). Moreover, the sensor responses were also found to be highly stable and reversible even under repeated strain loading/unloading for up to 1000 cycles at a maximum tensile strain of 20%, mainly due to the mechanical stability of the AgNW/elastomer composites. In addition, both the magnitude and direction of the principal strain could be precisely characterized by configuring three identical AgNW piezoresistors in a delta rosette form, representing the potential for employing the devices as a multidimensional strain sensor in various practical applications.
Polyurethane acrylate (PUA) has been introduced to utilize as a mold material for sub-100 nm lithography as it provides advantages of stiffness for nanostructure formation, short curing time, flexibility for large area replication and transparency for relevant biomedical applications. Due to the ability to fabricate nanostructures on PUA, there have been many efforts to mimic extracellular matrix (ECM) using PUA especially in a field of tissue engineering. It has been demonstrated that PUA is useful for investigating the nanoscale-topographical effects on cell behavior in vitro such as cell attachment, spreading on a substrate, proliferation, and stem cell fate with various types of nanostructures. In this study, we have conducted surface modification of PUA films with micro/nanostructures on their surfaces using plasma treatment. In general, it is widely known that the plasma treated surface increases cell attachment as well as adsorption of ECM materials such as fibronectin, collagen and gelatin. Effect of plasma treatment on PUA especially with surface of micro/nanostructures needs to be understood further for its biomedical applications. We have evaluated the modified PUA film as a culture platform using adipose derived stem cells. Then, the behavior of stem cells and the level of adsorbed protein have been analyzed.
The formation degree of sustain (ITO pattern) decides quality of PDP (Plasma Display Panel). For this reason, it makes efforts in searching defects more than 30 un as 100%. Now, the existing inspection is dependent upon naked eye or microscope in off-line PDP manufacturing process. In this study developed prototype inspection system of PDP 170 glass is based on line-scan mechanism. Developed system creates information that detects and sorts kinds of defect automatically. Designed inspection technology adopts multi-vision method by slip-beam formation for the minimum of inspection time and detection algorithm is embodied in detection ability of developed system. Designed algorithm had to make good use of kernel matrix that draws up an approach to geometry. A characteristic of defects, as pin hole, substance, protrusion, are extracted from blob analysis method. Defects, as open, short, spots and et al, are distinguished by line type inspection algorithm. In experiment, we could have ensured ability of inspection that can be detected with reliability of up to 95% in about 60 seconds.

The authors report on the fabrication of thin film transistors (TFTs) that use amorphous indium-gallium-zinc oxide (a-IGZO) channel and have the channel length (L) and width (W) patterned by dry etching. To prevent the plasma damage of active channel, a 100-nm-thckness $SiO_{x}$ by PECVD was adopted as an etch-stopper structure. IGZO TFT (W/L=10/50${\mu}m$) fabricated on glass exhibited the high performance mobility of $35.8\;cm^2/Vs$, a subthreshold gate voltage swing of $0.59V/dec$, and $I_{on/off}$ of $4.9{\times}10^6$. In addition, 4.1” transparent QCIF active-matrix organic light-emitting diode display were successfully fabricated, which was driven by a-IGZO TFTs.
