Estimation of Allowable Path-deviation Time in Free-space Optical Communication Links Using Various Aircraft Trajectories

  • The allowable path-deviation time of aircraft in a free-space optical communication system has been estimated from various trajectories, using different values of aircraft speeds and turn rates. We assumed the existence of a link between the aircraft and a ground base station. First, the transmitter beam's divergence angle was calculated through two different approaches, one based on a simple optical-link equation, and the other based on an attenuation coefficient. From the calculations, the discrepancy between the two approaches was negligible when the link distance was approximately 110 km, and was under 5% when the link distance ranged from 80 to 140 km. Subsequently, the allowable path-deviation time of the aircraft within the tracking-error tolerance of the system was estimated, using different aircraft speeds, turn rates, and link distances. The results indicated that the allowable path-deviation time was primarily determined by the aircraft's speed and turn rate. For example, the allowable path-deviation time was estimated to be ~3.5 s for an aircraft speed of 166.68 km/h, a turn rate of $90^{\circ}/min$, and a link distance of 100 km. Furthermore, for a constant aircraft speed and turn rate, the path-deviation time was observed to be almost unchanged when the link distance ranged from 80 to 140 km.

K-최단경로문제를 위한 MPS 방법의 효율적인 구현 (An Efficient Implementation of the MPS algorithm for the K-Shortest Path Problem)

  • In this paper, we are concerned with the K-shortest loopless path problem. The MPS algorithm, recently proposed by Martins et al., finds paths efficiently because it solves the shortest path problem only one time unlike other algorithms. But its computational complexity has not been known yet. We propose a few techniques by which the MPS algorithm can be implemented efficiently. First, we use min-heap data structure for the storage of candidate paths in order to reduce searching time for finding minimum distance path. Second, we prevent the eliminated paths from reentering in the list of candidate paths by lower bounding technique. Finally, we choose the source mode as a deviation node, by which selection time for the deviation node is reduced and the performance is improved in spite of the increase of the total number of candidate paths.

  • This paper reviews search methods of multiple reasonable paths to implement multimodal public transportation network of Seoul. Such a large scale multimodal public transportation network as Seoul, the computation time of path finding algorithm is a key and the result of path should reflect route choice behavior of public transportation passengers. Search method of alternative path is divided by removing path method and deviation path method. It analyzes previous researches based on the complexity of algorithm for large-scale network. Applying path finding algorithm in public transportation network, transfer and loop constraints must be included to be able to reflect real behavior. It constructs the generalized cost function based on the smart card data to reflect travel behavior of public transportation. To validate the availability of algorithm, experiments conducted with Seoul metropolitan public multimodal transportation network consisted with 22,109 nodes and 215,859 links by using the deviation path method, suitable for large-scale network.

  • We proposed a new system for the postural balance rehabilitation training. For the purpose, we used the virtual hiking system using virtual reality technology. We evaluated the system by measuring the parameters such as path deviation, path deviation velocity, cycling time, and head movement. From our results, we verified the usefulness of virtual reality technology in rehabilitation. Our results showed that this system was effective postural balance rehabilitation training device and might be useful as the clinical equipment.

  • Due to the fact that the set point regulation scheme by the variable structure control method concerns only the initial and final locations of a manipulator, many constraints may exist in the application of path tracking with obstracle avoidance. The variable structure parameter should be selected in the trajectory planning step by satisfying the constraints of the travel time and the path deviations This paper presents the selection algorithm of the variable structure parameters with the constraints of the system dynamics and the travel time and the path deviation. This study makes unify the trajectory planning and tracking control using the variable structure control method.

비정형작업 근골격계질환 위험요인의 노출평가: 일부 병원근로자에 대한 PATH-KOSHA 관찰도구 적용사례 (Exposure assessment of musculoskeletal disorder risk factors in non routinized work: An application of PATH-KOSHA observational tool to hospital workers)

  • This study was conducted to assess exposure to musculoskeletal disorder(MSD) risk factors in hospital personnel who performed non-routinized work tasks. A tool ("PATH-KOSHA" version) was newly revised from PATH(Posture, Activity, Tools and Handling) method and uploaded into a personal digital assistant(PDA). The version was used, on a basis of direct-observation, to collect PATH data at the 2 hospital settings in different regions. Job analysis was performed to get various information (e.g., work and rest time, task type) as well. The data collected were visually checked for data cleaning and stored for future data analysis. A total of 1,992 PATH observations were made for 37 hospital workers. Exposure levels varied across 18 items of the MSD risk factors. The highest percent time spent on non-neutral postures was 53% for wrist deviation, followed by 47%(pinch grip), 35%(trunk posture), 23%(neck posture), and 20%(shoulder/arm posture). The highest percent time spent among hand activity level(HAL) variables was 55% for HAL-cat2 (HAL: 3.3 - <6.7). The percent time of items with respect to both loads with more than 5kg and contact stress was less than 4%. Vibration was not exposed in the study workers. Different aspects were discussed for findings. The study results showed that wrist deviation was highest in percent time spent on awkward posture while HAL-cat2 was highest in hand repetition. The study suggests that distal upper extremity posture and HAL should be primarily addressed and controlled in non-routinized work including the hospital settings.

반복작업 PERT 네트워크의 확률기반 주공정 산정기법 (Probability-based Critical Path Estimation for PERT Networks of Repetitive Activities)

  • 건설공사의 공정 계획에 많이 사용되는 네트워크 방식의 공정표는 CPM방식과 PERT 방식으로 분류할 수 있다. 네트워크 공정표에서는 주공정선의 산정은 전진 계산과 후진 계산을 통하여 가장 합계기간이 크게 산출되는 경로를 선택하는 방식에 의하는 것이 일반적이다. CPM 기법에서는 각 액티비티의 소요기간이 고정된 값으로 제시되므로 이를 기반으로 하여 주공정선의 산정이 용이하다. 그러나 PERT 네트워크에서는 소요기간이 확률적으로 주어지므로 단순히 특정 경로 상 액티비티 기간의 합계만으로 주공정은 정하는 것은 불합리하며, 확률에 기반하여 산정된 예상기간에 의해 최가능 주공정으로 제시되어야만 PERT의 목적에 부합할 것이다. 이는 목표 기간에 따라 주공정선이 변화할 수 있으며, 경우에 따라서는 예상 기간이 더 작은 경로가 최가능 주공정이 될 수 있음을 의미한다. 이러한 개념에 의거하여 본 연구에서는 PERT 네트워크 공정표에서 경로별로 예상기간의 비교를 통해 확률적 의미를 가진 최가능 주공정을 도출하는 기법을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 진행한다. 체계적인 대안 경로 도출을 위해 작업 구획과 작업 공정이 교차하여 반복적으로 진행하는 방식의 네트워크 반복 작업 공정표를 대상으로 하여 대안 경로 도출 방식을 제시하였으며, 도출된 경로를 대상으로 예상 기간과 표준 편차를 산출하여 예상기간이 목표 기간을 초과할 확률을 기반으로 하여 최가능 주공정을 산출하는 기법을 제안하였다. 사례 연구를 통해 최가능 주공정은 고정된 경로가 아니며 목표 기간과 표준편차에 따라 변화할 수 있음을 예시한다. 본 연구에서 제시된 기법은 건설 공사와 같이 목표 공사기간이 변화하는 상황에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이며 기간 예측의 리스크를 명확화하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

서울 및 대전지역에서의 전계강도와 경로손실 분석 (Analysis of Field Strength and Path Loss in Seoul and Daejeon Area)

  • 이동통신에서, 전파경로는 이동국의 위치변동때문에 시간 및 공간에 따라 변한다. 전파경로 손실은 주 파수와 거리뿐만 아니라 안테나 높이, 지형구조와 인위적 환경에 따라 탄라지브로 이동 전파신호의 전파 경로손실을 예측하기는 매우 어렵다. 본 고에서는 대전 및 서울 지역에서 전계강도를 측정하여 단구간 중앙치,500m 거리별 평균치 및 표준 편차를 산출하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 경로손실 특성이 예측모텔과 유사하였으며, 특히 단구간 중앙치 는 기지국 안테나 높이, 지형구조와 인위적 환경에 의존하며, 표준편차는 2-1OdBuV사이에 있음을 알 수 있다.

용접로봇용 아크센서 및 인터페이스 시스템 (An Arc Sensor and Its Interface System for Welding Robots)

  • An arc sensor system to compensate positional errors was developed on the foundation of sensor interface system to make use of the on-line shift function of industrial welding robot. Investigating the on-line shift function, we examine the quantitative relationship between the deviation from programmed path and the correction data transferred from personal computer to robot controller. The number of input parameters for weld seam tracking can be reduced by making the relationship between the deviation and the correction data during half weaving be the function of only cross time. With the results of weld seam tracking for the butt joint with V-groove and fillet joint of sheet metal, good performance was implemented. By developing the sensor interface system to compensate the positional errors, industrial welding robot can be expected to contribute to the promotion of welding automation.

  • This study was conducted to assess exposure to musculoskeletal disorders risk factors in the cooking & housekeeping jobs in hotel work. PATH (posture, activity, tools and handling) method was used for data collection at the 6 hotel settings in different regions across Korea. From 26 workers, a total of 949 PATH observations were obtained. The highest percent time on non-neutral posture was 78% for pinch grip, followed by 74%(wrist deviation), 52%(trunk posture), 37%(shoulder/arm posture), and 30%(neck posture). The highest percent time in the three HAL variables was 47% for HAL-cat2. The percent time of items in relation to both loads with more than 5kg and contact stress was less than 2%. The hotel workers were not exposed to vibration.
