대학생과 근로자의 부모교육 프로그램재발을 위한 기초연구 (A Preliminary Study on the Development of Parenting Education Programs for College Students and Adolescent Workers)

  • This research explored parenting education programs for be college students and adolescent workers, and it was focused on determining whether different parenting education programs were needed for college students and adolescent workers. The participants were 254 college students in Suncheon and 135 adolescent industrial workers in Ulsan. Data were gathered via questionnaires and two-way ANOVA analyses of parenting effectiveness by sex and social status(college student, versus adolescent industrial worker), and by age and social status were performed. There were no significant differences based on sex, age, or social status, and no interaction effect. However, there were significant differences in adolescents' parenting effectiveness depending on childhood parenting experiences, parenting knowledge, and parenting education program experience. Among the predictors(sex, age, social status, childhood parenting experience, parenting knowledge, and parent education experiences) adolescents' childhood parenting experiences was the strongest variable for predicting parenting effectiveness. In this regard, the results confirmed Bronfenbrenner's Ecological System's Theory that family influences children's belief systems about parenting effectiveness in the microsystem. Furthermore, the results indicate that a different parenting education program is not needed for college students and adolescent industrial workers, respectively; instead, a more comprehensive parenting education program for all adolescents - regardless of social status is needed. And based on the present study's results, the importance of child development knowledge, and parent-child relationships in parenting education programs was also confirmed. From a broader social perspective, all adolescents are encouraged to participate in parenting education programs.

어머니의 양육효능감과 공감 증진 및 양육스트레스 감소를 위한 자녀양육코칭 프로그램의 개발과 효과 (The Development and the Effectiveness of a Parenting Coaching Program for Parenting Competence, Empathy, and Parenting Stress in Mothers)

  • The purpose of this study is, first, to develop a Parenting Coaching Program to improve parenting competence, and empathy skills, and reduce parenting stress for mothers and second, to examine the program's effectiveness. The program consists of 8 sessions and each session employs a variety of activities and parenting skills to help mothers. The Parenting Sentence of Competence Scale, Empathy Scale, and Parenting Stress Index were used as a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test, respectively. The data was analyzed by the SPSS 16.0 program, which applied the t-test. Twelve mothers participated in eight sessions of the Parenting Coaching Program, and were compared with the control group of twelve mothers who did not receive treatment. The treatment group statistically showed significant improvement in parenting competence, empathy, and a significant decrease in stress level, in comparison to the control group. It was concluded that the Parenting Coaching Program was effective for improving parenting competence, and empathy skills, and reducing stress.

  • The present study employed a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design model in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Respected Parents & Respected Children (RPRC) parent education program for mothers of early school-age children. Ninety mothers were randomly assigned to an intervention (n=45) group or a control group (n=45). Mothers in the intervention group participated in 8 weekly sessions of the parent education program. After the termination of the program, the differences between pretest and posttest were analyzed in terms of both maternal parenting characteristics (i.e., parenting behavior, parenting efficacy, parenting stress, and co-parenting) and children's social competence. The results indicated that only in the intervention group, self-reported positive parenting characteristics were significantly improved and negative parenting characteristics were significantly decreased. There were no significant effects of the program on children's social competence as rated by the mothers. These findings suggest that the RPRC parent education program is effective in changing parenting characteristics known as crucial predictors of child outcomes.

  • Objective: This study used a pre-test and post-test quasi-experimental design to evaluate the effectiveness of the Respected Parents & Respected Children parent education program developed for mothers of toddlers. Methods: A total of 40 mothers were assigned to two groups, an intervention group (n = 20) and a waiting group (n = 20). Mothers in the intervention group participated in six weekly sessions of the parent education program. After the termination of the program, differences between the preand post-test in terms of mothers' parenting characteristics (i.e., parenting behaviors, parenting efficacy, and parenting stress) and toddlers' social and emotional characteristics were compared in both groups. Results: Mothers in the intervention group showed significant improvement in their parenting behaviors and parenting efficacy and decreased parenting stress, whereas mothers in the waiting group did not show any significant differences between pre- and post-test scores. Mothers in the intervention group also reported a significant improvement in their toddlers' level of imitation/play. Conclusion: These findings indicate that the Respected Parents & Respected Children parent education program is effective in bringing about positive changes in both mothers' and toddlers' characteristics, which can be crucial for the future developmental outcomes of children.

  • Based on characteristics of victims, the parent education program focused on building a new concept of personal respect toward their children and on changing overprotective and coercive parenting styles into democratic parenting. The social skills training program focused on building self-acceptance, self-esteem and interpersonal capabilities in victimized children. Three groups, each composed of 6 victims and their mothers, were compared to examine the effectiveness of the programs. Children in experimental group I showed marked increase in self-esteem. They also reported that their mothers' overprotective parenting decreased after participation in the parent education program, indicating the effectiveness of the intervention program.

저소득 가정 영유아 건강 프로그램이 어머니의 양육지식, 행동, 자신감 및 가정환경에 미치는 효과 (Effects of an Infant/Toddler Health Program on Parenting Knowledge, Behavior, Confidence, and Home Environment in Low-income Mothers)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a mother/infant-toddler health program developed to enhance parenting knowledge, behavior and confidence in low income mothers and home environment. Methods: A one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was used. Sixty-nine dyads of mothers and infant-toddlers (aged 0-36 months) were provided with weekly intervention for seven session. Each session consisted of three parts; first, educating to increase integrated knowledge related to the development of the infant/toddler including nutrition, first aid and home environment; second, counseling to share parenting experience among the mothers and to increase their nurturing confidence; third, playing with the infant/toddler to facilitate attachment-based parenting behavior for the mothers. Results: Following the programs, there were significant increases in parenting knowledge on nutrition and first aid. A significant improvement was found in attachment-based parenting behavior, but not in home safety practice. Nurturing confidence was not significantly increased. The program led to more positive home environment for infant/toddler's health and development. Conclusion: The findings provide evidence for mother-infant/toddler health program to improve parenting knowledge, attachment-based parenting behavior and better home environment in low income mothers. Study of the long term effectiveness of this program is recommended for future research.

어머니의 한계설정과 과보호/허용 양육이 유아의 외현화 행동에 미치는 영향: 어머니의 우울과 유아의 의도적 통제에 의한 조절된 매개효과 (The Influence of Maternal Limit-Setting and Overprotective/Permissive Parenting on Preschoolers' Externalizing Behaviors: A Moderated Mediation Effect of Maternal Depression and Preschoolers' Effortful Control)

  • Objective: Studies have revealed that parenting is a crucial factor for children's effortful control and externalizing behaviors, however, less is known about the underlying mechanism that may be moderated by maternal depression. Therefore, the present study is aimed to testify the mediating effect of children's effortful control and moderating effect of maternal depression in the association between parenting(i.e. limit setting, overprotective/permissive parenting) and children's externalizing behaviors. Methods: Three hundred and one mothers with 4 to 6 years old children reported their parenting behaviors, depression, their children's effortful control and externalizing behaviors. Data were analyzed using SPSS and Process Macro. Results: Results showed that children's effortful control mediated the association between parenting and children's externalizing behaviors and maternal depression moderated the association between parenting behaviors and children's effortful control as well as between parenting behaviors and children's externalizing behaviors. The moderated mediation effects were stronger among mothers with lower levels of depression. Conclusion/Implications: These findings could contribute to a better understanding of how and when maternal limit setting and overprotective/permissive parenting impact children's externalizing behaviors. It is suggested that future efforts to provide the parenting intervention take a target specific approach (e.g. considering mother's depression symptom), on order to maximize the effectiveness of program to ultimately facilitate children's positive adjustment.

청소년 대상 예비부모교육 프로그램 효과성 연구 (Effectiveness of parenting education program for adolescents)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 청소년 대상 예비부모교육의 효과성을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 청소년 대상의 예비부모교육 프로그램을 개발하여 서울, 충남, 광주 지역 중 고등학교에 "부모-자녀 의사소통 교육", "아버지됨의 이해 교육", "자기 이해를 통한 부모됨의 준비교육"을 주제로 예비부모교육 프로그램을 실행하고 자기기입식 사전 사후 조사를 통해 효과성을 분석하였다. 수집된 97명의 설문지를 빈도 분석, 백분율, 대응표본 t검증, One way ANOVA로 분석하였다. 주요한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비부모교육에 대한 필요성과 정규 교육과정 편성에 대한 필요성 인식이 사전 사후 유의미한 차이가 있으므로, 일시적이고 한시적인 예비부모교육 운영보다는 청소년의 욕구에 부응할 수 있는 학교급별 정기적인 예비부모교육을 실시할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 조사대상자들이 자녀를 출산하지 않는 이유로 '양육 부담감'을 높게 인식하고 있으므로, 예비부모교육에서 양육기술과 정보를 구체적으로 다룰 필요가 있다. 셋째, 부모역할 수행에 대한 인식은 사전 사후 유의미한 차이가 있는 만큼 예비부모교육 참여를 통해서 부모역할 수행에 대한 인식이 긍정적으로 변화할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, "아버지됨의 이해 교육" 참여자들은 성역할의 변화가 없었지만, "부모-자녀 의사소통 교육" 참여자들은 의사소통 인식의 변화가 유의미하였고, "자기이해를 통한 부모됨의 준비교육" 참여자들도 자아존중감 인식의 변화가 있었다. 본 연구결과를 통해 예비부모교육의 효과성이 검증된 바, 공교육에서 유일하게 예비부모교육을 담당하는 가정교과가 더욱 강화되어야 함을 시사한다.

미용 프로그램이 양육 스트레스 및 우울증에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Beauty Program on Parenting Stress and Depression)

  • 본 연구는 영유아 자녀를 둔 여성을 대상으로 양육 스트레스 및 우울증에 영향을 미치는 관련 요인을 파악하고, 미용 프로그램이 양육 스트레스 및 우울증에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 수행되었다. 부산에 거주하는 산후 36개월 이하의 영유아 자녀를 둔 여성 450명을 2018년 5월 1일부터 20일까지 임의 표집하여 자기기입식 설문조사를 시행한 후 402명을 최종 분석하였다. 또한 미용 프로그램이 양육 스트레스 및 우울증에 미치는 효과를 실증적으로 검증하고자 2018년 6월 1일부터 29일까지 17명을 대상으로 단일군 사전사후 실험연구방법의 미용치료프로그램을 진행하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 다중회귀분석결과, 외모관리행동을 많이 할수록 양육 스트레스 및 우울증은 낮아지는 경향을 보였으며, 미용프로그램 참여 전에 비해 미용 프로그램 참여 후 양육 스트레스와 우울증은 유의미하게 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 미용 프로그램은 여성의 정신건강과 자존감을 향상시키는 효과적인 방법 중 하나임을 확인하였다.

장애아동 아버지의 가족탄력성 증진 프로그램 효과성 연구 (Study on Effectiveness of Family Resilience Program for Fathers of Children with disability)

  • 본 연구는 장애아동 아버지의 양육참여와 양육행동, 장애자녀에 대한 태도 및 친밀감을 향상시킬 수 있는 가족탄력성 증진 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하여 그 효과성을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 프로그램은 가족탄력성의 개념을 기반으로 하위요인인 신념체계, 조직패턴, 의사소통과정을 포함하는 내용으로 구성하였고, 서울소재 복지관의 초등학생 장애자녀를 둔 아버지를 대상으로 주 1회 매 2시간씩, 총 7회기로 진행되었다. 연구결과, 통제집단은 결과에 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았지만 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단 아버지들은 양육참여 정도와 장애자녀에 대한 태도에서 유의미한 향상을 보였다. 따라서 가족탄력성 증진 프로그램을 통해 장애아동 아버지들이 적극적으로 양육에 참여하게 되고 장애자녀에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하게 되었음을 보여줌으로써 가족탄력성 프로그램의 효과성을 입증하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 장애아동 아버지에 대한 사회복지 실천현장에서의 개입 방안에 대한 함의를 제언하였다.
