  • This paper describes a POWER MOSFET inverter suitable for medium frequency induction heating applications. A series scheme is employed, which is operated at zero phase of the resonant load by PLL control. This ensures maximum power transfer, good efficiency, low EMI noise and reliable operation. Circuit configuration and performance are discussed and design criteria are given. Implementation of a prototype rated at 5KW, $100{\sim}300KHz$ is discribed and experimental results are given.

QZSS L1 C/A Signal Processing Results in Korea (한국에서 QZSS 위성의 L1 C/A 신호처리 결과)

  • Michibiki is the first QZSS satellite, which was launched by a H-IIA rocket departing from the Tanegshima in Japan on 11 September, 2010 and now operated successfully. This paper presents the results obtained from processing of the L1 C/A signal transmitted from the QZSS satellite. The acquisition and tracking are performed by the L1 software receiver implemented by ETRI. The signal processing results show that QZSS L1 C/A signal is normally processed through the tracking loop results of FLL, PLL, and DLL, the EPL correlator output, and the C/No output. Finally, the paper demonstrates that the QZSS satellite could be used in the navigation system together with the GPS satellite in Korea.

A Study on Low Phase Noise Frequency Synthesizer Design for Satellite Terminal (위성통신 단말용 저 위상잡음 주파수 합성기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we present the high resolution and low phase noise frequency synthesizer for satellite terminal. To improve the phase noise of frequency synthesizer, we analyze how the configuration of frequency synthesizer affect the phase noise. The implemented frequency synthesizer reduce the phase noise and show the high resolution. The output power of this frequency synthesizer is over -2dBm in 950~1450MHz and the phase noise of the -101dBc/Hz at 10kHz frequency offset.

  • A spread spectrum clock generation is an efficient way to reduce electro-magnetic interference (EMI) radiation in modern mixed signal chip systems. The proposed circuit generates the spread spectrum clock by directly injecting the modulation voltage into the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) current source for SATA II. The resulting 33KHz modulation profile has a Hersey-Kiss shape with a rounded peak. The chip has been fabricated using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process and test results show that the proposed circuit achieves 0.509% (5090ppm) down spreading at 1.5GHz and peak power reduction of 10dB. The active chip area is 0.36mm ${\times}$ 0.49mm and the chip consumes 30mW power at 1.5GHz.

  • In this study, we propose a method of digital control to drive the vibrating gyroscope using electromagnetic-force. The gyroscope requires accurate vibration control and signal processing for high performance. Conventional PLL based analog controller is not only difficult to manufacture but also weak to outer environment such as temperatures, air pressures and etc. But digital controller using DSP can consistently maintain the cylinder vibration and perform digital signal processing regardless of disturbance. DSP's PWM function was utilized to control the vibration, and rotation-detecting algorithm was developed. Finally, the controller was verified by simulation and experiment using rotation-rate table.

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 FFT에 의한 계통위상 추정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 신재생 에너지 분야에 적용되는 계통연계형 인버터에서는 계통과 동기를 위해서는 반드시 계통의 위상 정보가 필요하다. 일반적으로 사용하는 3상 D-Q 변환에 의한 위상 추종과 달리 새롭게 제안하는 FFT를 사용하는 알고리즘은 게인 튜닝 부분이 없으며 FFT의 특성상 기본주파수 이외의 성분을 제외한 강력한 노이즈 제거효과로 인해 직접적이며 노이즈에 강한 특징을 가지고 있다. 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 제안한 알고리즘의 성능이 만족할 만한 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 보였다.

  • Phase angle in grid-connected inverter is important information for current control. When different loads are connected to PCC(Point of Common Coupling) of grid, distorted grid voltage is taken place by load utility generating distorted current. Especially, in case the grid voltage is distorted by low order frequency such as $3^{rd}$, $5^{th}$ harmonic, phase angle of PLL output is distorted. This paper analyze problem of current THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) due to distorted phase angle by distorted grid voltage, and propose control method compensating this problem. Also, it‘s validity is verified by simulation and experiment.

  • A digital grid synchronization technique is needed for distributed generation system to make output current sinusoidal even if the grid voltage is distorted by harmonics. In this paper, a digital grid synchronization technique based on adaptive notch filter is proposed. The analysis of proposed technique is performed through the consideration of grid synchronization technique based on PLL and FLL, and the validity of the proposed method was confirmed by simulation results.

  • In a weak grid condition, the precise grid impedance estimation is essential to guaranteeing the high performance current control and power transfer for a grid-connected inverter. This study proposes a precise estimation method for grid impedance by PQ variations by employing the variation method of reference currents. The operation principle of grid impedance estimation is fully presented, and the negative impact of the phase locked loop is analyzed. Estimation error by a synchronization angle in the park's transformation using the phase locked loop is derived. As a result, the variation method of reference currents for accurate estimation is introduced. The validation of the proposed method is verified through several simulation results and experiments based on a 2-kW voltage source inverter prototype.

  • 무선 급전 경전철 차량은 차량이 역에 도착하였을 때 단시간에 배터리에 에너지 충전을 요구함에 따라 1MW이상의 순간 전력을 공급하는 시스템을 요구하게 된다. 때문에 대용량 파워에 따라 손실의 따른 발열량이 커지게 된다. 때문에 높은 효율을 갖는 제어 방식을 선택하는 것이 불가피하게 된다. 이러한 이유로 본 논문에서는 집전 정류기를 PLL을 통하여 스위칭 지점을 ZVS가 가능하도록 제어하고 또한 스위칭 OFF 손실을 줄이기 위하여 주파수를 4분주로 스위칭 하는 방식을 제한고 이를 실제 하드웨어를 통하여 제어 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증하였다.
