Investigation on immersion gold layers was carried out using TEM analysis for the purpose of understanding the defect of immersion gold layer. The immersion gold layers prepared with three different types of baths were observed. The results showed that the defect structure of immersion gold layer is strongly dependent on the types of gold baths. Spherical defects of average 10 nm size were located along the grain boundaries for the specimen formed at KAu$(CN)_2$ bath containing no reducing agent. In the case of the specimen processed at KAu$(CN)_2$ bath containing a reducing agent, the spherical defects of 5-10 nm size were distributed randomly in grains as well as at grain boundaries. However, such defects disappeared almost completely when $Na_{3}Au(SO_3)_2$ bath was used to fabricate an immersion gold.
LIDMOD2 was developed for evaluation of low impact development (LID) and best management practice (BMP) by modification of Site Evaluation Tool (SET). The modification includes employment of SCS-CN method for annual runoff simulation, unit load method for annual pollutant loads simulation, and the method proposed by Korean TMDL for calculating pollutant reduction by BMPs. The CN values were updated with regionalized parameters within Nack-Dong River basin because these are important parameters for simulating hydrology. LIDMOD2 was tested by applying to Andong Bus terminal. As a simulation results, pollutant loads and surface runoff will be significantly increased by post-development without LID compared with those from pre-development. LID technique was simulated to efficiently reduce surface runoff and pollutant load and increase infiltration. LIDMOD2 is screening level tool and easy to use because LIDMOD2 is based on spread sheet and most of parameters are regionalized. LIDMOD2 was illustrate that it could evaluate LID well by summarizing and graphing annual hydrology, annual pollutant loading, and hydrograph for event storm. The calculation methods related with pollutant loads are employed from the guideline of Korean TMDL and it can be useful tool for Korean TMDL to evaluate the effect of LID/BMP on developing area.
The transport phenomena of electron and ion around the electrode have been analyzed, herein the computational program to simulate the electrochemical signal of cyclic voltammetry has been implemented. For the dominant mass-transfer system, the governing equation and its boundary conditions are confined to the semi-infinite diffusion model and the reversible reaction at the electrode. In order to obtain the numerical solutions of cyclic voltammetry, MATLAB was used for the explicit finite difference method. Experimental results from the cyclic voltammetry of electrochemical system(10 mM $K_3Fe(CN)_6$ and 0.1M KCl) upon the ITO glass substrate were compared with the numerical solutions. Present program explains the experimental results fairly well, where they approached the simulated ones closely with deceasing the scan rate. Furthermore, the effects of electrode area, electrochemical reaction constants and transfering coefficients in the cyclic voltammetry were discussed quantitatively.

Due to its high electrical conductivity, low contact resistance, good weldability and high corrosion resi-stance, gold is widely used in electronic components such as connectors and printed circuit boards (PCB). Gold ion salts currently used in gold plating are largely cyan-based salts and non-cyanic salts. The cya-nide bath can be used for both high and low hardness, but the non-cyanide bath can be used for low hardness plating. Potassium gold cyanide (KAu(CN)2) as a cyanide type and sodium gold sulfite (Na3[Au(SO)3]2) salt as a non-cyanide type are most widely used. Although the cyan bath has excellent performance in plating, potassium gold cyanide (KAu(CN)2) used in the cyan bath is classified as a poison and a toxic substance and has strong toxicity, which tends to damage the positive photoresist film and make it difficult to form a straight side-wall. There is a need to supplement this. Therefore, it is intended to supplement this with an eco-friendly process using sodium sulfite sodium salt that does not contain cyan. Therefore, the main goal is to form a gold plating layer with a controllable hardness using a non-cyanide gold plating solution. In this study, the composition of a non-cyanide gold plating solution that maintains hardness even after annealing is generated through gold-palladium alloying by adding thallium, a crystal regulator among electrolysis factors affecting the structure and hardness, and changes in plating layer structure and crystallinity before and after annealing the correlation with the hardness.

This study evaluated the effect of lignin biochar on Kimchi cabbage cultivation in an upland field. Each of the inorganic fertilizers (IF, applied at 32-7.8-19.8 kg/10a=N-P-K), lignin biochar (LBC, applied at 1,000 kg/10a), improved LBC (LBC+N, applied at 1,000 kg/10a), and LBC+IF treatments areas were separated by a control (Cn) treatment area. The fresh weight of Kimchi cabbage increased in the order LBC+N > IF > LBC+IF > Cn > LBC treatments, and the length and width of the leaf were ranged from 20.8-25.7 and 13.7-15.8 cm/plant in all treatments. After Kimchi cabbage harvesting in the LBC+N treatment, soil quality improved bulk density, pH, OM, TN, and Av-P2O5 than those other treatments. In addition, the total N2O flux in LBC+N LBC+N was lower than in IF treatments. Therefore, improved lignin biochar application effectively improves Kimchi cabbage cultivation and can benefit the agricultural environment.

In the preparation of acyclic thymidine nucleoside analogues, $K_2CO_3$(or NaH) treated thymine in DMSO was alkylated with .omega.-chloroalkyl nitrite (Cl-(CH_2)n-CN; n=1, 2, 3, 4) to provide an isomeric mixture of 1-(${\omega}$-cyanoalkyl)thymine (2a-d) and 1,3-bis(${\omega}$-cyanoalkyl)thymine in approximately 5:1 ratios. Reduction of the cyano function 2a-d with $NaBH_{4}/CoCl_{2}$ center dot$ 6H_{2}O$gave the corresponding 1-(${\omega}$aminoalkyl)thymine (3a-d). The newly formed primary amino function in 3a-d was directly reacted with 2-chloroethylisocyanate to afford the 1-[.omega.($N^{I}$-2-chloroethylureido) alkyl]thymine (4a-d) in good yields. Nitrosation of 1-[5-($ N^{I}-2$-chloroethylureido)pentyl] thymine (4d) with glacial acetic acid and dry $NaNO_{2}$-powder in anhydrous $CH_{2}Cl_{2}$gave two types of regioisomeric nitrosoureas, 1-[5-($N^{I}$--chloroethyl-$N^{I}$--nitrosoureido)pentylithymine (5d) and 1-[5-($N^{I}-2$-chloroethyl-N-nitrosoureido)pentyllthymine in approximately 5 :1 ratios. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the synthesized compounds (2a-d, 3a-d, 4a-d and 5a-d) against three cell lines (K-562, P-388 and FM-3A) are measured as $IC^{50}$ values. Compounds 3b and 4c showed moderate activities against all three cell lines, and all other compounds were found to be not active.

Industrial wastewater generated in the electroplating and metal finishing industries typically contain toxic free and complex metal cyanide with various heavy metals. Alkaline chlorination, the normal treatment method destroys only free cyanide, not complex metal cyanide. A novel treatment method has been developed which destroys both free and complex metal cyanide as compared with Practical Plant(I). Prior to the removal of complex metal cyanide by Fe/Zn coprecipitation and removal of others(Cu, Ni), Chromium is reduced from the hexavalent to the trivalent form by Sodium bisulfite(NaHSO$_3$), followed by alkaline-chlorination for the cyanide destruction. The maximum removal efficiency of chromium by reduction was found to be 99.92% under pH 2.0, ORP 250 mV for 0.5 hours. The removal efficiency of complex metal cyanide was max. 98.24%(residual CN: 4.50 mg/L) in pH 9.5, 240 rpm with 3.0 $\times$ 10$^{-4}$ mol of FeSO$_4$/ZnCl$_2$ for 0.5 hours. The removal efficiency of Cu, Ni using both hydroxide and sulfide precipitation was found to be max. 99.9% as Cu in 3.0 mol of Na$_2$S and 93.86% as Ni in 4.0 mol of Na$_2$S under pH 9.0$\sim$10.0, 240 rpm for 0.5 hours. The concentration of residual CN by alkaline-chlorination was 0.21 mg/L(removal efficiencies: 95.33%) under the following conditions; 1st Oxidation : pH 10.0, ORP 350 mV, reaction time 0.5 hours, 2nd Oxidation : pH 8.0, ORP 650 mV, reaction time 0.5 hours. It is important to note that the removal of free and complex metal cyanide from the electroplating wastewater should be employed by chromium reduction, Fe/Zn coprecipitation and, sulfide precipitation, followed by alkaline-chlorination for the Korean permissible limit of wastewater discharge, where the better results could be found as compared to the preceding paper as indicated in practical treatment(I).

${\beta}-PbO_2$ electrode, which was electrodeposited on Ti madras, was prepared and for the decomposition of cyanide in electroplating wastewater. After the investigation of temperature and pH conditions for no hydrogen cyanide evolution during the decomposition of cyanide, the optimum current densities of ${\beta}-PbO_2$ electrodeposition and cyanide decomposition were determined in 500ppm NaCN solution, and durability of ${\beta}-PbO_2$ electrode was also investigated. Hydrogen cyanide was actively generated above $40^{\circ}C$ and was not evolved above pH 13. ${\beta}-PbO_2$ electrode electodeposited at $5A/dm^2$ showed the best cyanide decomposition efficiency The decompostion efficiency was about 70% at low decomposition current density ($0.08A/dm^2$), and it decreased gradually to about 10% as the decomposition current density increased up to $4A/dm^2$. The film of ${\beta}-PbO_2$ electrodeposited was corrosive at $20A/dm^2$ and was broken at $50A/dm^2$.
The material of the dental prosthesis was required bio-compatibility for biological, chemical, and physical stabilities. This study was conducted the stability evaluation of mechanical, biological characteristics through comparing Co-Cr alloy(SC group), Ti alloy(ST group) made by the selective laser melting method with Co-Cr alloy(CC group), Ni-Cr alloy(CN group) made by the casting method. Modulus of elasticity for mechanical characteristic evaluation was measured by the tensile test. And we conducted the release material analysis using lactic acid-NaCl solution for the evaluation of biological stability and were observed cytotoxicity through the content of this release medium. Taking these results into account, the Co-Cr alloy made by the selective laser melting method was observed modulus of elasticity higher than he Co-Cr alloy made by the casting method. And the Co-Cr alloy made by the selective laser melting method had more superior biological stability than the other groups as the result of cytotoxicity evaluation through the release material analysis. By this results, we think that alloys made by the selective laser melting method can be applied as materials for making the dental prosthesis.

Jeotgal is a generic term given to the high-salt-fermented seafood of Korea. This study aimed at developing an overview of the bacterial community present in Ojingeo-jeotgal, a highly consumed type of jeotgal, which is made with squid. Bacteria were isolated and purified from two samples on six different kinds of media and identified by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. Among the 121 total isolates, the most dominant genus was Bacillus, followed by coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) and lactic acid bacteria (LAB). CNS were detected in both samples, but LAB were observed in only a single sample. Six strains of Bacillus species inhibiting the growth of food pathogens, Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus, were selected from the 121 isolates. These were found to inhibit the growth of both pathogens in addition to displaying proteolytic activities on media containing 6% NaCl and 2% skim milk.
