The study of the development of DJ robots is to meet the demands of the music services which are changing very rapidly in the digital and network era. Existing studies, as a whole, develop music services on the premise of personalized environment and equipment, but the DJ robot is on the premise of the open space shared by the public. DJ robot gives priority to traditional space and music. Recently as the hospitality and demand for cultural contents of South Korea expand to worldwide, industrial use of the contents based on traditional or our unique characteristics is getting more and more. Meanwhile, the DJ robot is composed of a combination of two modules. One is to detect changes in the external environment and the other is to set the properties of the music by psychology, emotional engineering, etc. DJ robot detect the footprint of the temperature, humidity, illumination, wind, noise and other environmental factors measured, and will ensure the objectivity of the music source by repeated experiments and verification with human sensibility ergonomics based on Hevner Adjective Circle. DJ robot will change the soundscape of the traditional space being more beautiful and make the revival and prosperity of traditional music with the use of traditional music through BGM.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the rationale and format of music therapy interventions with patients receiving hospice or palliative care in Korea. Through this analysis, I examined whether the music intervention used was based on a valid rationale and represented the professionalism expected of today's music therapy interventions. A total of 12 studies that met the selection criteria were identified, and the overall characteristics of each study and its format were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the rationale for each study and its format were influenced by the author's research field. The analysis also showed that the research on music-based interventions in hospice or palliative care settings was insufficient and involved a mix of professional and nonprofessional interventions. The results of this study suggest that importance of researchers possessing professional competence which requires offering a clear justification for their choice of interventions, music, and instruments. Additionally, these results emphasize the need for further development of evidence-based music therapy approaches in hospice and palliative care settings as the role of music in supporting patients in these environments has gained increasing recognition and validation.

This study was conducted to analyze music therapy studies supporting the psychological and emotional needs of Korean women according to a feminist perspective in music therapy. A total of 34 studies were analyzed by general characteristics, characteristics of the intervention, and characteristics of a feminist perspective. Results showed that the research focus was initially on subjects who suffered from mental illness and that more recently the focus has shifted to include more diverse subjects, such as career women, women who migrate for marriage, and women who study abroad, and to reflect contemporary social issues. In terms of a feminist perspective, the studies were analyzed according to the following themes as the characteristics of a feminist perspective: empowerment, social and political perspectives, cooperativity, egalitarianism, and diversity. Results showed that social and political viewpoints were reflected in the selection of subjects and that empowerment was reflected mostly in the contents of interventions. This study highlights the need to incorporate a feminist perspective in more diversified music therapy practices to bring social changes as well as individual changes for women.

The purpose of this study is the suggestion of tempos and genres to make a effective mood in a hotel and restaurant. As a result of this study, it was verified which genre and tempo is the most effective at each case of various restaurant. The result of this study shows that the genres and tempos of background music effect to a mood of customer, and a satisfaction related to a return visit and a recommendation. This paper offer a useful method when a manager want to change a ambience of business place. For example, a manager will be able to choose a change of background music instead of remodeling requiring much money. At the other case, a manager will be able to maximize a expression effect of business concept as following the suggestion of this study. This thesis suggests how a managers can simultaneously achieve a customer's satisfaction and a financial benefit by selection of music.

The rise of music resources has led to a parallel rise in the need to manage thousands of songs on user devices. So users have a tendency to build playlist for manage songs. However the manual selection of songs for creating playlist is a troublesome work. This paper proposes an auto playlist generation system considering user context of use and preferences. This system has two separated systems; 1) the mood and emotion classification system and 2) the music recommendation system. Firstly, users need to choose just one seed song for reflecting their context of use. Then system recommends candidate song list before the current song ends in order to fill up user playlist. User also can remove unsatisfied songs from the recommended song list to adapt the user preference model on the system for the next song list. The generated playlists show well defined mood and emotion of music and provide songs that the preference of the current user is reflected.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the effects of a music-based group reminiscence program on interpersonal relationships, self-esteem and depression in elderly people who are hospitalized. Methods: A quasi-experimental research was implemented, and a nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design was used. The participants were 52 elders who met the selection criteria and were assigned to the experimental group (26) and the control group (26). Both groups took the pre and posttest at the same time, and both groups received regular hospital care with the experimental group participating in the program for 12 sessions over six weeks. The instruments used in the study were, for interpersonal relationships, the Interpersonal Change Scale by Schlein and Guerney (1971), for self-esteem, the Self-Esteem Scale by Rosenberg (1965) and for depression, the Depression Inventory by Zung (1965). The collected data were analyzed with the SPSS 15.0 program. Results: Compared to the control group, the experimental group had significantly better interpersonal relationships and significantly higher self-esteem and less depression. Conclusion: The findings of the study suggest that a music-based group reminiscence program is effective in improving the interpersonal relationships, self-esteem and depression of hospitalized elders.

This study examined musical concepts of early childhood teachers with the 'Sing-a-New-Song' activity and problems teachers face in the application of musical concepts. Participants were 10 kindergarten teachers; data were collected through lesson plans, videos of classes, and interviews with teachers. Results showed that (1) selection of songs focused on words of a song rather than musical concepts; ignoring development of the musical level of the children. (2) Goal-setting ignored musical concepts. (3) Class management confused musical concepts with other concepts. (4) No evaluation of musical concepts was undertaken. Problems included teachers' lack of knowledge of musical development in young children, insufficient understanding and limited application of musical concepts, and low expectations regarding music as a subject of instruction.

In this paper we present a method of separating musical instrument sound sources from their monaural mixture, where we take the harmonic structure of music into account and use the sparseness and the overlapping NMF [1] to select representative spectral basis vectors which are used to reconstruct unmixed sound. A method of spectral basis selection is illustrated and experimental results with monaural mixture of voice/cello and trumpet/viola are shown to confirm the validity of our proposed method.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Korean dramas selection factors for Chinese audiences on the national image of South Korea. The results of this study were as follows: First, selection factors of Korean dramas for Chinese audiences were categorized 'subject and content', 'direction and background music', and 'style of actor or actress'. Among these factors, this study was found that a factor of drama's 'subject and content' had an effect on the selection of Korean dramas for Chinese audiences. Second, 'touristic factor', 'cultural factor', and 'stylistic factor' were examined as a national image factor of South Korea for Chinese audiences. The Chinese audiences surveyed responded positively on 'cultural factor'. The images delivered through the Korean TV dramas have very much influenced the Chinese audiences to view contemporary Korean society as a country of modern and urban elegance. Furthermore, the audiences cognized South Korea is a friendly nation as South Korea and China has a similar cultural background like the Confucian culture. Third, the study found selection factors of Korean dramas for Chinese audiences had positive effects on the national image of South Korean. These positive influences were found on 'touristic factor', 'cultural factor', and 'stylistic factor' From these results, Chinese audiences watch Korean dramas focused on 'subject and content', 'direction and background music', and 'style of actor or actress'. Watching Korean dramas help to create the friendly national image of South Korea. The study shows a possibility to increase an interest and preference on the Korean pop culture.

The purpose of this study is to analysis the cognitive frame of the expert on musically talented in the Pop music audition program. Consequently, this article found that each expert has difference priority. Myself(PA), voice(YA), tune(YO) are used frequently. In comparison with standard frame, all experts refer to creative area in priority. But, they lack in motive area. Also, there are areas which don't treat in standard frame. And to conclude, pop music audition program has creative and personal characteristic. If not, it doesn't give prominence to differentiated messages and last in the global market. Based on the result of this study, this paper suggests the following: Firstly, it needs devices that support areas which fall short of selection. Secondly, it requires new frame which modifies the details of standard frame.
