  • Recently, many researches on recommendation systems and collaborative filtering have been proceeding in both research and practice. However, although product items may have multi-valued attributes, previous studies did not reflect the multi-valued attributes. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes new methodology for recommendation system. The proposed methodology uses multi-valued attributes based on clustering technique for items and applies the collaborative filtering to provide accurate recommendations. In the proposed methodology, both user clustering-based CBR and item attribute clustering-based CBR technique have been applied to the collaborative filtering to consider correlation of item to item as well as correlation of user to user. By using multi-valued attribute-based clustering technique for items, characteristics of items are identified clearly. Extensive experiments have been performed with MovieLens data to validate the proposed methodology. The results of the experiment show that the proposed methodology outperforms the benchmarked methodologies: Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (CBR_CF) and User Clustering Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (UC_CBR_CF).

  • In this paper, the one period multi-item inventory model is considered in which it is required to determine the production quantity and selling price of each item which maximize the probability of realizing predetermined level of profit. The objective function of this model is the sum of weighted probabilities which represent the possibility of obtaining the predetermined level of profit for each item. Budget constraint, inventory site constraint and constraints of price are considered. Finally this paper shows a numerical example in which random demand of each item has exponential distribution.

  • This paper concerns the problem of determining the spare inventory level for multi-echelon repairable-item inventory system with finite number of operating items. We consider the system which has several bases and a central depot. When an item fails, it is dispatched to a repair facility and, a spare, if available, is plugged in immediately. When the failed item is repaired, it is sent to the base and either is used to fill a backorder or is stored at a spare inventory point. Using queueing network, we develop an algorithm to find the spare inventory level which minimizes the total expected cost and, simultaneously, satisfies a specified minimum fill rate. The results of the algorithm clearly indicate that the algorithm successfully generate output with optimal solution.

  • The study was conducted to develop two parallel short forms for the Convergent thinking and Problem solving questionnaires which are part of H University's core competency diagnostic tools, based on Multi-Item Response Theory. Item responses of 2,580 students were analyzed using Graded Response Model(GRM) to determine item difficulty and discrimination of each item. The research results are as follows. Two parrallel short tests were developed for the Convergent thinking questionnaire consisting of 12 items which were originally 17 items. Likewise, the Problem solving questionnaire, which originally consisted of 15 questions, was divided into two parallel short forms, each consisting of 9 items. The reliability of the shortened parallel tests was confirmed through internal consistency analysis, and their similarity to the original tests was established through correlation analysis. This study contributed to quality management of competency-based education and programs at H University by developing shortened tests. Based on the results, implications were presented as well as limitations and discussions.

  • This paper deals with performance measures for recoverable item control where the demand process is time-dependent. The performance measure is essential for modelling a multi-echelon inventory problem for repairable items. Most repairable items are expensive and have a great influence on the performance of equipments. Thus the information on these items is very useful to the decision maker. The purpose of this paper is to derive the system performance measure and the part(component) performance measure considering a cannibalization policy under the dynamic environment.

  • This paper addresses the problem of determining the proper level of concurrent spare parts(CSP) for a system consisting of multi-item parts under an available budget constraint. Initial provisioning of spare parts plays a major role in the acquisition of a new equipment system. Therefore, the proper level of spare parts should be on hand to maintain the availability of the system. This paper proposes a new CSP model and solution procedure that determines the proper level of spare parts satisfying the item priority and simultaneously available budget constraint.

  • A stochastic dynamic lot sizing problem for multi-item is suggested in the case that the distribution of the cumulative demand is known over finite planning horizons and all unsatisfied demand is fully backlogged. Each item is produced simultaneously at a variable ratio of input resources employed whenever setup is incurred. A dynamic programming algorithm is proposed to find the optimal production policy, which resembles the Wagner-Whitin algorithm for the deterministic case problem but with some additional feasibility constraints.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop ' the Behavior Problem Scale for Children and Adolescence' The 518 subjects were selected from 5th and 6th grades of elementary schools and first and second grades of middle schools in Pusan. Statistics used for data analysis were χ2 cramer's V, factor analysis multi-regression Pearson's r, Cronbach's a. The major finding of this study were as follows 1) 80 items of the 159 item scale were acceptable through item discriminant method The discriminant coefficients of the items(Cramer's V) ranged from .48 to .81. 2) 6 factors(shyness aggression hyperactivity withdrawal anxious immature) extracted from factor analysis,. Multi-regression analysis conducted to reduce the length of scale have drawn 42 items for 'the Behavior Problem Scale Children and Adolescence' 3) Reliability coefficients(Cronbach's a) of this scale was 94.

  • This paper deals with a centralized warehouse problem with multi-item and capacity constraint. The objective of this paper is to decide the number and location of centralized warehouses and determineorder quantity (Q), reorder point (r) of each centralized warehouse to minimize holding, setup, penalty, and transportation costs. Each centralized warehouse uses continuous review inventory policy and its budget is limited. A SA (Simulated Annealing) approach is developed and its performance is tested by using some computational experiments.

  • Purpose : his study was to analyze the reliability and validity on Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Index (OLBPDI) in patients with low back pain. Methods : The sample consisted of 211 patients who had received treatments at the physical therapy units of 3 medical institutions from February to December 2008 in Andong city. Questionnaires on the OLBPDI were recruited by 6 physical therapists. The internal structure and reliability of the scales were evaluated by means of item-internal consistency(Cronbach's alpha coefficient:${\alpha}$), item-discriminant validity, Pearson's relation coefficient. Results : An average of patients's age was 41.1 years. The range of OLBPDI subscales were .93~.94 in Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The internal consistency reliability of total item-each item were also internally consistent with Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ range of .94~.95(Pearson's correlation coefficient range: .62~.89). However, high correlation were obtained among 10 items(.67~.83), therefore the item-discriminant validity was a little low. Conclusion: In conclusion, the results reported here confirm the reliability of the OLBPDI scales in patients with low back pain. The collection of information on the level of disability due to low back pain using this instrument was acceptable to patients. A further prospective multi-center study will be necessary to prove the reliability and validity.
