We found metallic migration phenomena at the fire scene in Printed circuit board (PCB) of LED light equipment which are commonly used. Accordingly we did this study. In order to generate rapidly metallic migration, we experiment the water drop test under low voltage (3.0 V) and a small amount of water condition. As a results of our experiment, we saw the growth of metallic migration of Copper and checked directly short of the PCB between isolated two poles by Cu migration. Finally we saw the shape of dendrite pattern by Cu migration using Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and analyzed that components via Energy dispersive Spectrometer (EDS).
Electrical failures and reliability problems of electronic components by ionic migration between adjacent device terminals have become an issue in automotive electronics. Especially unlike galvanic corrosion, ionic migration is occurred at high temperature and high humidity under applied electric field condition. Until now, although extensive studies of the ionic migrations dealing with PCBs, electrodes, and solders were reported, there is no study on the effect of insulation polymers and metallic fillers for ionic migration. In this research, therefore, ionic migration induced by the types and contents of polymers and metallic fillers, and variety conditions of temperature, humidity, and applied voltage was studied in detail. Ester and amide types of liquid crystal polymer (LCP) and poly (phthalamide) (PPA) were used as base polymers, respectively and compounded with the metallic fillers of Copper iodide (CuI), Zinc stearate (Zn-st), or Calcium stearate (Ca-st) in various compositions. The compounding polymers were fabricated in IPC-B-24 of SIR test coupon according to ISO 9455-17 with Cu electrodes for ionic migration test. While there is no change in LCP-based samples, ionic migration in PPA compounding sample with a high water absorption property was accelerated in the presence of 0.25 wt% or above of CuI at the environmental conditions of 85℃, 85% RH and 48V. The dendritic short-circuit growth of Cu caused by ionic migration between the electrodes on the surface of compounded polymers was systematically observed and analyzed by using optical microscopy and SEM (EDX).
Background/Aims: Covered self-expandable metallic stents (CMSs) are widely used for malignant distal biliary obstructions (MDBOs) caused by pancreatic carcinoma. This study compared the efficacy and safety of the laser-cut-type and braided-type CMSs. Methods: To palliate MDBOs caused by pancreatic carcinoma, the laser-cut-type CMSs was used from April 2014 to March 2017, and the braided-type CMSs was used from April 2017 to March 2019. The tested self-expandable metallic stents were equipped with different anti-migration systems. Results: In total, 47 patients received CMSs for MDBOs (24 laser-cut type, 23 braided-type). The time to recurrent biliary obstruction (TRBO) was significantly longer in the braided-type CMSs (p=0.0008), and the median time to stent dysfunction or patient death was 141 and 265 days in the laser-cut-type CMSs and braided-type CMSs, respectively (p=0.0023). Stent migration was the major cause of stent dysfunction in both groups, which occurred in 37.5% of the laser-cut-type CMSs and 13.0% of the braided-type CMSs. There were no differences in the survival duration between the groups. Conclusions: The TRBO was significantly longer for the braided-type CMSs with an anti-migration system than for the laser-cut-type. Stent migration tended to be less frequent with the braided-type CMSs than with the laser-cut-type CMSs.
The migration of metallic devices such as Kirschner's wire (K-wire) from the shoulder is a well-recognized and significant complication of operation, the wire ending up in the lungs, the heart, the esophagus, the aorta or the subclavian artery. However, spinal migration is very rare. We report the case of a 72-year-old female patient with K-wire migration into the C7-T1 intervertebral foramen, 2 months after surgery for a lateral end fracture of left clavicle.

Recently a lots of problems have observed in high densified and high integrated electronic components. One of them is ion migration phenomena, which induce the electrical short of electrical circuit. ion migration phenomena has been observed in the field of exposing the specific environment and using for a long tin e. This study was evaluated the generation time of ion migration and was investigated properly test method through water drop test and high temperature high humidity test. Also we observed direct causes and confirmed generation mechanism of dendritic growth as we reproduced the ion migration phenomena. We utilized PCB(printed circuit board) having a comb pattern as follows 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 mm pattern distance. Cu, SnPb and Au were electroplated on the comb pattern. 6.5 V and 15 V were applied in the comb pattern and then we measured the electrical short time causing by ion migration. In these results, we examined a difference of ion migration time depending on pattern materials, applied voltage and pattern spacing of PCB conductor.
Detailed expermental studies of theelectronic structure of the valence and conduction bands of the mixed conductor $\beta$-LiAlindicate that a quasi-gap opens at the Fermi level, and the conduction states are highlylocalized, as opposed to the theoretical band structure calculations that predict predominant metallic behavior. Evidence for complex lithium migration effects involving the surface of Lial , induced by particle (electron or ion) bombardment and mechanical treatment , has been obtained as a byproduct of these experiments.

During laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a surgical clip is used to control the cystic duct and cystic artery. In the past, metallic clips were usually used, but over recent years, interest in the use of Hem-o-lok clips has increased. Surgical clip migration into the common bile duct (CBD) after laparoscopic cholecystectomy has rarely been reported and the majority of reported cases involved metallic clips. In this report, we describe the case of a 53-year-old woman who presented with abdominal pain caused by migration of a Hem-o-lok clip into the CBD. The patient had undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy 10 months previously. Abdominal CT revealed an indistinct, minute, radiation-impermeable object in the distal CBD. The object was successfully removed by sphincterotomy via ERCP using a stone basket and was identified as a Hem-o-lok clip.
In order to offer monitoring data about standard and specification of metallic kitchenware, we carried out the material test and migration test of lead and antimony in 71 kinds of kitchenwares. As a result of this study, Pb was detected less than 0.06% at the material test and Sb was not defected in 71 kinds of kitchenwares. Pb was also detected less than 0.41 mg/L at the migration test. Currently according to the Food Code of Korea, Pb and Sb in metal product shall not exceed 10% and 5%, respectively and Pb migrated from metal product shall not exceed 1.0 mg/L. Therefore, our all data are not exceeding the standard and specification of metal product and show that all the kitchenwares in domestic circulation may be safe.

Background Insertion of tracheal stent in the treatment of benign tracheal & bronchial disease has increased since the introduction of expandable metallic stent. Material & Methods : Between Jan, 1995 and Feb. 2004, eight patients who had benign tracheo-bronchial disease underwent insertion of expandable metallic tracheal stent. We retrospectively analyzed stent insertion indications, complications, and following the result. Results : Surgical indications were post-intubation tracheal stenosis (1 case), tracheal stenosis following tracheal surgery (2 cases), tracheo-esophageal fistula (2 cases), broncho-pleural fistula(1 case), left main bronchus stenosis following bronchoplasty (1 case), and left main bronchus stenosis due to mediastinal repositioning (1 case). Expandable metallic tracheal stent was inserted in five patients to resolve dyspnea caused by airway obstruction, and to prevent recurrent pneumonia in three patients. The complication developed in 6 patients $75\%$; 3 cases of distal stenosis due to growth of granulation tissue, and one case each of tearing of posterior membrane, aggravation of tracheo-esophageal fistula, and airway partial obstruction due to stent migration. The stent was removed in 5 patients and tracheal surgery (tracheal resection and end to end anastomosis with primary repair of esophagus, pericardial patch tracheo-bronchoplasty, tracheal repair and omental wrapping) was performed in 3 patients. Conclusion Insertion of self expandable metallic stent in benign tracheo-bronchial disease is an effective means of relieving dyspnea for only a short period, and it did not increase the long term survival. Better means of treatment of benign tracheo-bronchial stenosis in necessary.
