  • Today, one of the important factors that determine the university rating is the employment rate. The jobseekers are using online or offline recruiting services in order to get the desired job information. There are lots of employment supporting systems as like web-based employment agencies and University's job centers, but they are focusing more on providing job information rather than on managing the employment support. In addition, those are insufficient to support business process associated with MOU companies, industry field training, mentoring processors, etc., and to continue to manage and to update the information (resume, personal statement, etc.) about the students which the companies want, and the information about the companies which jobseekers want. Therefore, it is required that the employment supporting system which not only storages the initial data (student and corporate information), but also assist the career placement. In this paper, we considered the specific employment rights management features of the existing employment support system, it could receive real-time job information in the smart phone, we presented the design and construction of the system linked to the Bachelor Information System.

  • Today, the United States, Europe and other advanced organizations are utilizing the concept of competency-based HR management. Recently, many organizations in Korea are also managing workforces by introducing the concept of job competencies in personnel management. However, in spite of the current trend, domestic human resources management methods for construction managers continues to operate by asking about work experience, licensing, education level, etc. This is a seniority system and it functions separately from an assessment of practical job competencies for the business. Moreover, construction management work has been very fragmented in terms of expertise and capacity depending on the type of management work and project progress. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a competencies management system for each business segment to effectively manage job competencies that reflect the the characteristics of a construction manager' s work. As such, the aim of this study is to analyze human resources management methods pertaining to domestic construction managers and present challenges and limitations in current practices. In particular, factors affecting the job competencies of construction managers are analyzed statistically. The results of this study will be used as the basis for future research into development of a construction manager competency management system.

  • Purpose - This study aims to overcome the limitations of existing studies, which linearly determine the precedence factors of competency in overseas subsidiaries. The research objectives are as follows. First, what kind of nonlinear effects does the level of control held by Korean headquarters over foreign subsidiaries have in terms of competency in the subsidiaries? Second, what kind of nonlinear effects do the local experiences of overseas subsidiaries have on their competency? Design/methodology - With data on Korean multinational corporations (MNCs), this paper analyzes the effects of control levels of headquarters (HQs) and host-country experiences of foreign subsidiaries regarding competency in overseas subsidiaries. In particular, this study focuses on nonlinear models, differentiating it from previous studies. In order to examine research hypotheses, this study conducted a survey of overseas subsidiaries of Korean corporations. Surveys were conducted through various methods including e-mail, online questionnaires, fax, and telephone calls. Copies of the questionnaire were distributed to a total of 2,246 overseas subsidiaries, and 409 completed responses were collected. Excluding 15 copies that were insufficiently answered, responses from a total of 394 copies were used for analysis. Findings - This study presents the following results. First, there is a U-shaped relationship between levels of HQ control and competency in foreign subsidiaries. This means that higher levels of HQ control negatively impact the competency levels of subsidiaries because strict control undermines autonomy in subsidiaries. However, if the level of HQ control exceeds a certain point, then the transfer of knowledge between HQs and subsidiaries is facilitated. Knowledge transferred from HQs can be used as prior knowledge by foreign subsidiaries to the benefit of all parties. Accordingly, knowledge transfer negates the negative effects of excessive HQ control and positively affects competency in subsidiaries. Second, there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the local (host-country) experiences of subsidiaries and competency in foreign subsidiaries. This means that foreign subsidiaries can overcome the liabilities of foreignness and contribute to capability building by accumulating unique knowledge about their host countries. However, if local experiences accumulate excessively beyond a certain point, then the host country-specific experiences of foreign subsidiaries will offset the benefits discussed above. Excessive local experiences not only increase organizational inertia, but also create a problem of goal incongruence due to information asymmetry between HQs and subsidiaries. Therefore, excessive local experiences have negative effects on competency in foreign subsidiaries. Originality/value - This study suggests the following implications. First, unlike existing studies based mainly on linear models, this study presents important theoretical implications in its focus on nonlinear models and its analysis of the effects of HQ control and local experiences on competency in foreign subsidiaries from perspectives of organizational learning theory and agency theory. Second, in terms of practical implications, the results of this study suggest that optimally raising levels of HQ control and managing the local experiences of subsidiaries without increasing organizational inertia is important for enhancing competency in foreign subsidiaries.

  • It is not an overstatement that nowadays electronic mails are communicated more frequently as well as conveniently than phones and facsimiles, not only in routine life hot also in business transactions. Also, it is evident that emails will be used more and more as a communication method between internal and external organizations. If the information transferred and received via emails takes a role of business records, it is no wonder that emails should be uniformly managed as public records. Currently, however, specific policies or guidelines for the management of email records are not available, nor do most of public employees realize that emails are the actual records of the organization. In fact, the three research methods have been used for this study in the purpose of the establishment of email records management scheme. First of all, bibliographic research has been conducted in an effort to describes the definition and types of email records indicated in the guidelines of each nation, as well as the differences from the transitory email messages. Secondly, email management guidelines and policies of public institutions of England, The United States, Australia, and Canada, so-called the advanced countries of the records management, have been analyzed to examine the advanced examples of email management. In order to manage email records effectively, the functional requirements - capture, classification, storage, access, tracking, disposition, and role and responsibility were categorized in this thesis, based on the ISO 15489. As the designs of these foreign guidelines vary one another, common factors of them were extracted to be included in the realm of the seven stages. Lastly, this thesis has analyzed characteristics of the email system within the Electronic Document Management System of existing administrative institutions. Also, it has examined the overall environment of the email records management of public institutions and sought out its improvement. In essence, focused on the crucial factors on email management drawn out from the email management guidelines of foreign nations and the analysis of the policies, this thesis proposes an email records management scheme for Korean public intuitions, as well as an email management model suitable for forthcoming e-government era.

  • Due to the trend toward computerization of business services in public sector and the push for e-government, the volume of records that are produced in electronic system and the types of records vary as well. Of those types, dataset is attracting everyone's attention because it is rapidly being supplied. Even though the administrative information system stipulated as an electronic record production system is increasing in number, as it is in blind spot for records management, the system can be superannuated or the records can be lost in case new system is developed. In addition, the system was designed not considering records management, it is managed in an unsatisfactory state because of not meeting the features and quality requirements as records management system. In the advanced countries, they recognized the importance of dataset and then managed the archives for dataset and carried out the project on management systems and a preservation formats for keeping data. Korea also is carrying out the researches on an dataset and individual administrative information systems, but the official scheme has not been established yet. In this study the items for managing archives which should be reflected when the administrative information system is designed was offered in two respects - an identification method and a quality requirement. The major directions for this system are as follows. First, as the dataset is a kind of an electronic record, it is necessary to reflect this factor from the design step prior to production. Second, the system should be established integrating the strategy for records management to the information strategy for the whole organization. In this study, based on such two directions the strategies to establish the identification for dataset in a frame to push e-government were suggested. The problem on the archiving steps including preservation format and the management procedures in dataset archive does not included in the research contents. In line with this, more researches on those contents as well as a variety of researches on dataset are expected to be more actively conducted.

  • Supply chain management(SCM) requires efforts to search for methods for mutual growth with partner companies and to maintain continuous cooperative relations in order to gain a competitive edge. Because information competencies play a big role within the supply chain, it is essential to examine the relationship of information sharing and partnership quality that can affect information competency. In order to maintain continuous business relations between partner companies, it is necessary to identify the obstacles with partner companies resulting from the imbalance of power within a supply chain and to take on a strategic approach for effectively managing such obstacles. Therefore, there is a significant need to discuss strategic approach methods to enable the logic of mutual growth through the CSV that is worth learning from the partner company and the attributes of non-mediated power. CSV will be reviewed from various aspects as a new management paradigm in the future. This study aims at suggesting a continuous growth model for companies by solving social problems through the integration of CSV and the concept of non-mediated power to advance the information competencies of SCM. A total of 142 copies of survey forms for SCM Implementation Companies were using the PLS structural equation modeling for an analysis, and the following are the findings. Results of this study showed that both CSV and non-mediated power had significant impact on information sharing and partnership qualities, and the conclusion that it is possible to enhance information competency through information sharing and partnership quality. Based on this, this study proposes the implication that it is necessary to elevate awareness of CSV and non-mediated power as variables for the coexistence of SCM participating companies.

  • It is very difficult to measure the performance of the machine learning model in the business service stage. Therefore, managing the performance of the model through the operational department is not done effectively. Academically, various studies have been conducted on the concept drift detection method to determine whether the model status is appropriate. The operational department wants to know quantitatively the performance of the operating model, but concept drift can only detect the state of the model in relation to the data, it cannot estimate the quantitative performance of the model. In this study, we propose a performance prediction model (PPM) that quantitatively estimates precision through the statistics of concept drift. The proposed model induces artificial drift in the sampling data extracted from the training data, measures the precision of the sampling data, creates a dataset of drift and precision, and learns it. Then, the difference between the actual precision and the predicted precision is compared through the test data to correct the error of the performance prediction model. The proposed PPM was applied to two models, a loan underwriting model and a credit card fraud detection model that can be used in real business. It was confirmed that the precision was effectively predicted.

  • In a customer-based industry, customer retention is the competitiveness of a company, and improving customer retention improves the competitiveness of the company. Therefore, accurate prediction and management of potential dormant customers is paramount to increasing the competitiveness of the enterprise. In particular, there are numerous competitors in the domestic card industry, and the government is introducing an automatic closing system for dormant card management. As a result of these social changes, the card industry must focus on better predicting and managing potential dormant cards, and better predicting dormant customers is emerging as an important challenge. In this study, the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) methodology was used to predict potential dormant customers in the card industry, and in particular, Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) was used to efficiently learn data for a long time. In addition, to redefine the variables needed to predict dormant customers in the card industry, Unified Theory of Technology (UTAUT), an integrated technology acceptance theory, was applied to redefine and group the variables used in the model. As a result, stable model accuracy and F-1 score were obtained, and Hit-Ratio proved that models using LSTM can produce stable results compared to other algorithms. It was also found that there was no moderating effect of demographic information that could occur in UTAUT, which was pointed out in previous studies. Therefore, among variable selection models using UTAUT, dormant customer prediction models using LSTM are proven to have non-biased stable results. This study revealed that there may be academic contributions to the prediction of dormant customers using LSTM algorithms that can learn well from previously untried time series data. In addition, it is a good example to show that it is possible to respond to customers who are preemptively dormant in terms of customer management because it is predicted at a time difference with the actual dormant capture, and it is expected to contribute greatly to the industry.
