  • The purpose of this study is to develop the measuring instruments for evaluation criteria for Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award(MBNQA), suitable for ICT Industries, and to analyze the cause-effect relationship between those criteria through aforementioned instruments. MBNQA is formed with seven categories: Leadership, Strategic planning, Focus on patients, other customers and markets, Measurement, analysis and knowledge management, Human resource focus, Process management and Results. As excluding the Human Resource Focus category, this study empirically examined the cause-effect relationship among six categories. In order to empirically examine the research model, this study calculated Cronbach's alpha and reliability index, thus examined the reliability and executed Exploratory Factor Analysis. Furthermore, Average Variance Extracted(AVE) is used to verify the discriminant validity. Lastly, the hypothesis testing was made complete through significance test on the paths between variables. The result of this study shows that both leadership and social responsibility have direct cause-effect relationship with Measurement, analysis and knowledge management, Human resource focus, Process management and also that this relationship has direct impact on Human resource focus, Measurement, analysis and knowledge management as well, consequently exerting influence on the result through Process management, Finance and Market data.

  • This paper deals with an integration model of three major quality management systems. The well known global standards such as ISO 9001 quality system, Malcolm Baldrige model, and EFQM model are integrated as a prototype quality system. The proposed model is then applied to help a power generation company to select improvement tasks for enhancing quality management. Here, we discuss three quality management systems, an integration process of the three systems, the integrated model, and a real world application case.

  • In this paper, I investigate the impact of quality management activities on the public sector within the framework of Malcolm Baldrige (MB) national qualify model. The Structural Equation Modeling approach has been employed to investigate the cross influences among the seven MB categories. This empirical study shows that a number of statistical hypotheses are significant. The leadership category is the most important driver among the quality management activities. This, in turn, implies that the main source in quality management is to foster a solid qualify oriented leadership system. Categories such as Information Analysis, Strategic Planning, Human Resource Development and Management, and Process Management are significantly related to the Customer Satisfaction category. In addition, leadership, Information Analysis, and Customer Satisfaction categories ere significantly influential to Management Performance.

  • An extensive literature review has been made in this paper to build the evaluation hierarchy structure for the certification of electronic commerce services. In building the evaluation hierarchy structure, major candidate evaluation factors are selected by bench marking the various certification practices, including the Malcolm Baldrige award, ISO9000, and BSC(balanced scorecard) techniques. This paper deployed principal component analysis and factor analysis techniques to develop a statistically solid and systematic evaluation model. The final evaluation model, as presented in this paper as a model for the certification of electronic commerce services, produces a numeric score on the 100% scale, which can be served as a metric for the certification decision. The AHP technique was used in converting the various qualitative and quantitative evaluation values into a single measure for the certification decision.

But, they think of it as one of the functional information systems not as a company-wide decision support information systems. A study on traditional quality information systems(QIS) has been conducted and a new conceptual framework of quality information system is proposed in this paper. In order to support enterprise wide total quality management aggressively, a new conceptual framework, named quality management support information system(QMSIS) is developed and proposed. • This paper analyzed the management quality activities and performance based on industrial types. We divided the business into four industrial types, manufacturing industry, service industry, medical institution and public enterprise. We analyzed the differences of the elements of management quality in industrial types. The results show that leadership, measurement, analysis and knowledge management and workforce focus categories are not significant and strategic planning, customer and market focus, process management and performance categories are significant. This paper proposes the directions of management quality activities and performance according to industrial types based on these results.
