시간지연 MIMO 비선형시스템의 MAC 제어기 설계 (MAC for MIMO Nonlinear System with Delayed Input)

  • 본 논문에서는 입력에 시간 지연이 존재하는 비선형 다중입출력(multi-input/multi-output (MIMO)) 시스템을 위한 디지털 제어기를 제안하였다. 다중 입력 시간 지연 비선형 시스템을 테일러의 추산 방법으로 이산화하고, 이 이산형 시스템을 일반적인 비선형 시스템으로 변환할 수 있다. 결과적으로, 일반 비선형 제어기를 이산형 시간 지연 시스템에 적용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 MAC 제어기를 설계하고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 실시하여 제안된 방법의 성능을 검증하였다. 시뮬레이션의 결과 제안된 제어기는 비선형 다중입력 다중 시스템에 있어서 입력에 시간지연이 발생하더라도 시스템의 성능을 유지함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 비선형 시간 지연 시스템의 제어에 유용함을 알 수 있다.

불감시간을 갖는 Affine 시스템의 안정도 해석과 제어기 설계 (Controller Design and Stability Analysis of Affine System with Dead-Time)

  • The Nyquist robust stability margin is proposed as a measure of robust stability for systems with Affine TFM(Transfer Function Matrix) parametric uncertainty. The parametric uncertainty is modeled through a Affine TFM MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) description with dead-time, and the unstructured uncertainty through a bounded perturbation of Affine polynomials. Gershgorin's theorem and concepts of diagonal dominance and GB(Gershgorin Bands) are extended to include model uncertainty. Multiloop PI/PID controllers can be tuned by using a modified version of the Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) relations. Consequently, this paper provides sufficient conditions for the robustness of Affine TFM MIMO uncertain systems with dead-time based on Rosenbrock's DNA. Simulation examples show the performance and efficiency of the proposed multiloop design method for Affine uncertain systems with dead-time.

Multiple-Packet Reception MAC Protocol Applying Pulse/Tone Exchange in MIMO Ad-Hoc Networks

  • This paper proposes a medium access control (MAC) protocol for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ad-hoc networks. Multiple-packet receptions in MIMO systems have attracted as a key technique to achieve a high transmission rate. In the conventional protocols for multiple-packet receptions, timing offsets among multiple-frame transmissions cause frame collisions induced by hidden nodes, which degrades network performance. In the proposed protocol, transmission synchronization among hidden nodes can be achieved by applying pulse/tone exchanges. By applying the pulse/tone exchanges, multiple-packet receptions among hidden nodes can be achieved, which enhances network throughputs compared with the conventional protocol. Simulation results show effectiveness of the proposed protocol.

  • The control system design of 2-DOF for SISO process by root locus technique is not complicated and efficiently. It can design the control system to have the transient and steady state responses, and do not adjust the gain of process controller later. However, due to control system design for MIMO process, by root locus technique, there is not exact method. This paper is presents the control system design method for Quadruple-Tank Process, by using root locus technique for the structure of 2-DOF control system. The design procedures are first decentralized then using the relative gain array, and finally 2-DOF controller design is applied.

Robust Control of Maglev Vehicles with Multimagnets Using Separate Control Techniques

  • A robust control design scheme using well-developed SISO techniques is proposed for maglev vehicles that are inherently unstable MIMO systems. The proposed separate control method has basically two control loops: a stabilizing loop by a pole-placement technique, and a performance loop using a novel optimal LQ loop-shaping technique. This paper shows that the coupling terms involved in maglev vehicles with multimagnets should not be neglected but compensated for their stability and performance robustness. The robustness properties of the proposed control system are then evaluated under variations of vehicle masses and air gaps through a computer simulation. This paper also describes the reason why the proposed control technique can be suggested as a tool using only SISO techniques in controlling unstable MIMO systems such as maglev vehicles.

  • A Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is a nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. This system is very difficult to control the temperature and the humidity ratio of a thermal space because of complex nonlinear characteristics. This paper proposes an adaptive fuzzy output feedback control based on observer for the nonlinear HVAC system. The nonlinear HVAC system is linearized through dynamic extension. State observers are designed for estimating state variables of the HVAC system. Fuzzy systems are employed to approximate uncertain nonlinear functions of the HVAC system with unavailable state variables. The obtained controller compares with an adaptive feedback controller. Simulation is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed adaptive fuzzy method.

  • Typical temperature control methods of a cooler for machine tools are hot-gas bypass and compressor variable speed control. The hot-gas bypass system has been widely used to control the cooler temperature in many general industrial fields. On the contrary, the compressor variable speed control is focused on special fields such as aerospace and high precision machine tools which need high precision control. The variable speed control system usually has two control variables such as target temperature and superheat. In other words, the variable speed control system is basically multi-input multi-output(MIMO) system. In spite of MIMO system, the proportional integral derivative(PID) feedback control methodology that based on single-input single-output (SISO) system is generally used for designing the variable speed control system. Therefore, it is inevitable to describe transfer functions for dynamic behaviors of every controlled variables and decide the PID gains with tremendous iteration process. Moreover, the designed PID gains do not provide optimum system performances. To solve these problems, high performance controller design method based on a state space model is suggested in this paper. An optimum controller is designed to minimize both control errors and energy inputs. This method was more simple to describe dynamic behaviors and easier to design the cooler controller which is MIMO system.

  • 최근 무선 인터넷 수요의 증가와 더불어 WLAN의 표준화 작업도 활발히 진행 중이다. IEEE 802.11e에서 통신 품질 보장과 함께 데이터 전송속도가 54Mbps 이상의 성능을 보이고 있지만 아직까지 사용자들의 요구에 부응하지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이다. IEEE802.11e다음 버전인 IEEE 802.11n의 연구 동향은 크게 두 가지로 MAC 계층에서 패킷 간의 Aggregation을 통하여 시스템 처리량을 높인 결과와 PHY 계층에서 MIMO 시스템을 적용하여 데이터 전송속도를 높인 결과로 정리될 수 있다. 그러나 아직까지 MAC 계층과 PHY 계층의 연동을 고려하여 IEEE 802.11n의 성능 분석을 보인 결과는 발표되지 않았다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11n 시스템에서 MAC계층과 PHY 계층의 연동을 고려하여 성능을 분석한다. MAC 계층에서의 A-MPDU 기반 하에 PHY 계층에서 MIMO 방식을 적용한다. MIMO 방식은 실내용 WLAN MIMO TGn 채널 모델의 사용과 함께 SVD 기법을 적용하여 분석하였고, 결과적으로 기존의 방식에 비해 데이터 전송속도의 증가와 처리량이 향상되었음을 보인다. 또한, MAC과 PHY의 연동을 고려하여 현실성 있는 시뮬레이터인 Ns-2를 사용하기로 한다.

  • Fuzzy control systems depend on a number of parameters such as the shape or magnitude of the fuzzy membership functions, etc. Conventional fuzzy reasoning method can not be easily applied to the multi-input multi-output(MIMO) system due to the large number of rules in the rule base. Recently Z. Cao et al have proposed a New Fuzzy Reasoning Method(NFRM) which turned out to be superior to Zadeh's FRM. We have extended the NFRM to handle the MIMO system. However, it is difficult to choose a proper relation matrix of the NFRM. Therefore, we have modified the evolution strategy(ES), which is one of the optimization algorithms, to do efficiently the tuning operation for the extended NFRM. Finally we applied the extended NFRM with the modified ES to tracking control of robot manipulator.

Multiuser Heterogeneous-SNR MIMO Systems

  • Previous studies on multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mostly assume a homogeneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), where each user has the same average SNR. However, real networks are more likely to feature heterogeneous SNRs (a random-valued average SNR). Motivated by this fact, we analyze a multiuser MIMO downlink with a zero-forcing (ZF) receiver in a heterogeneous SNR environment. A transmitter with Mantennas constructs M orthonormal beams and performs the SNR-based proportional fairness (S-PF) scheduling where data are transmitted to users each with the highest ratio of the SNR to the average SNR per beam. We develop a new analytical expression for the sum throughput of the multiuser MIMO system. Furthermore, simply modifying the expression provides the sum throughput for important special cases such as homogeneous SNR, max-rate scheduling, or high SNR. From the analysis, we obtain new insights (lemmas): i) S-PF scheduling maximizes the sum throughput in the homogeneous SNR and ii) under high SNR and a large number of users, S-PF scheduling yields the same multiuser diversity for both heterogeneous SNRs and homogeneous SNRs. Numerical simulation shows the interesting result that the sum throughput is not always proportional to M for a small number of users.
