  • Most of the theorems of nonlinear stability is based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The Lyapunov function method is most well-known and provides precise and rigorous theoretical backgrounds. However, the conventional approach to direct stability analysis has been performed without taking account of damping effects. For accurate stability analysis of nonlinear systems, the damping effects should be considered. This paper presents a new method to derive a group of Lyapunov functions to reflect the damping effects by considering the integral relationships of the system governing equations.

  • Using the computer-generated Lyapunov functions due to Brayton-tong's constructive algorithm, we estimate the domains of attraction of dynamical systems of the second order, and analyze the asymptotic stability of large scale contincous-time and discrete-time systems by the decomposition and aggregation method. With this approach we get the less conservative stability results than the existing methods.

  • For that the attitude control performance test of the satellite, dynamic analysis of satellite structure performed in reference with KOREASAT, and the equation of motion of rigid bodies was derivated. For attitude stability, Lyapunov's stability theorem and state space expression were applied to dynamic equation of satellite. To prove efficiency of our method, simulations are performed and result are shown.

  • In this paper, by means of Lyapunov second method, we analyze the stability of IP control servo systems in the time domain for the first time. Based on the results on the stability analysis, the design rule to select the gain of IP control is suggested such that the maximum error of output to the nominal system is guaranteed for all uncertainty and load variations. An example of a speed control of brushless dc motor given to prove the unusefulness of the gain design rule.

  • A robust stability problem for time delay systems is discussed by using a property of Lyapunov type operator equation. We propose a method to check the robust stability against the parameter perturbations occurring in both lumped parameter part and distributed delay element.

  • Robust stable analysis with the system bounded parameteric variation is very important among the various control theory. This study is to investigate the robust stable conditions using the quadratic form Lyapunov function in which the coefficient matrix is affined linear system. The quadratic stability using the quadratic form Lyapunov function is not investigated yet. The Lyapunov unction is robust stable not to be dependent by the variable parameters, which means that the Lyapunov function is conservative. We suggest the robust stable conditions in the Lyapunov function in which the variable parameters are dependent in order to reduce the conservativeness of quadratic stability.

  • The purpose of this paper is the application of the techniques for the new estimation of robustness for the aircraft systems having structured uncertainties. The basic ideas to analyze the system which is the originally nonlinear is Lyapunov direct theorems. The nonlinear systems have various forms of terms inside the system equations and this investigation is confined in the form of bounded uncertainties. The number of uncertainties will be the degree of freedoms in the calculation of the robust stability regions called the robustness bounds. This proposition adopts the theoretical analysis of the Lyapunov direct methods, that is, the sign properties of the Lyapunov function derivative integrated along finite intervals of time, in place of the original method of the sign properties of the time derivative of the Lyapunov function itself. This is the new sufficient criteria to relax the stability condition and is used to generate techniques for the robust design of control systems with structured perturbations. Using this relaxing stability conditions, in this paper, the quadratic form of Lyapunov function is utilized. In this paper, the practical system of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is analyzed with the proposed stability criteria based upon the Lyapunov direct method. The application of numerical procedures can prove the improvements in estimations of robustness with structured uncertainties. The applicable aircraft system is assumed to be linear with time-varying with nonlinear bounded perturbations.

  • This note Presents sufficient conditions for Lyapunov's stability and instability of a class of nonlinear nonautonomous second-order ordinary differential equations. Such a class includes as particular cases a remarkably large number of differential equations with specific physical applications. Two successive nonlinear transformations are applied to the original differential equation in order to convert it into a more convenient form for stability analysis purposes. The obtained stability / instability conditions depend closely on the parameterization of the original differential equation.

  • This paper proposes a stability condition in affine Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with parametric uncertainties and then, introduces the design method of a fuzzy-model-based controller which guarantees the stability. The analysis is based on Lyapunov functions that are continuous and piecewise quadratic. The search for a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function can be represented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

  • This paper present the nonlinear control and the Lyapunov analysis of the nonlinear electro-hydraulic system for steering control of UCT. Electro-hydraulic system itself has the high nonlinearities arisen from the nonlinear characteristics of the pressure-fluid flow in valve and friction in cylinder. These nonlinearities are unmodeled terms in the transfer function. This paper presents the system modeling, analysis of stability based on the Lyapunov function and simulation of the nonlinear hydraulic servo system.
