  • This paper presents the test and evaluation results on the shear strength and stiffness of a light steel stud wall from a lightweight foamed mortar (lightweight hybrid wall). The use of a lightweight foamed mortar was aimed at improving structural performance, thermal performance, and finish. Studiesshowed that it did not affect thermal performance, but it contributed to structural performance and finish when the unit weight was more than 0.8 (Editor's note: Please indicate the unit of measurement.). In this study, 14 specimens-whose parameters included the specific gravity of the lightweight foamed mortar (0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2), the spacing of the stud (450 mm, 600 mm, or 900 mm), finishing materials (such as lightweight foamed mortar, OSB, and gypsum board), and bracing-were manufactured. Three typical, steel house-framing specimens were added to compare the test results with the 14 specimens. The results of in-plane shear tests show that the use of lightweight foamed mortar (1.15~5.38 times stronger, 1.45~13.7 times stiffer) results in ultimate strength and initial stiffness. In addition, it was possible to widen the stud spacing to up to 900 mm without decreasing shear strength. It was very important to prevent the lightweight foamed mortar from shrinking and to secure the adhesion between the steel stud and the lightweight foamed mortar to improve structural performance.

  • In this study, viscosity analysis of the lightweight foamed mortar was conducted to evaluate the foam stability. According to a series of experiment, void volume related with density of the mixture and viscosity of the mixture were infleunced by water-to-binder ratio and addition of viscosity modifying admixture (VMA). Especially, the stability of the foam inside the mortar was confirmed with adding VMA.

  • This study discussed the prevention of the spalling and improvement of the fire resistance performance how to fill up lightweight foamed concrete on high strength RC column attached with the stone panel. The destructive spalling extremely occur caused by sudden high temperature and increased vapor pressure corresponding to falling the ston panel at all RC column, and the steel bar is exposed. The stone panel fall off about 30 minutes and spalling occur about 70 minutes on Plan RC column, fire endurance paint, and fire endurance mortar, so it can be confirmed that fire endurance paint and mortar, which is used as fire endurance material, are not effective. In the other side, it can be protected from fire about $120{\sim}140$ minutes when the lightweight foamed concrete is used as fire endurance material. For the weight loss after the fire test, plain is 33, fire endurance paint is 37%, and fire endurance mortar s 40.7%. And W/B 60%-3 is 53.4%, 60%-1.5 is 40.1%,65%-3 is 39.4%, and 65%-1.5% is 47.1. Overall, the weight loss of the plain is lower than that of the lightweight foamed concrete.

  • Korea residential housing generally use wet floor heating system 'Ondol' which consist of insulation cushioning, lightweight foamed concrete, hot water pipe and mortar on top of reinforced concrete slab. Wet floor heating system's installation process is too complicate and difficult to supervise field for continuing assurance quality. Also, this method has a huge impact on the progress of construction because it take a long time to cure finishing mortar and lightweight foamed concrete. Therefore, it is considered a disturbance factor of reduction of construction duration for enhancing competitiveness. In this study, we conducted an experiment about the radiant heat performance and temperature difference on upper panel of rolled dry floor heating systems which is jointly developed by Kolon global and Sumisho Metalex for remodeling housing, studio apartment and the urban-life housing.

  • This paper, an evaluation of the mechanical property for the backfilling materials of the NATM Composite lining tunnel using the lightweight foamed mortar, relates to the performance of permeability, compressive strength and unit volume weight. Therefore, this study is aimed to prove the three main factor that refered to the above line for development of new tunnel method. As the result of this study, it would be confirmed that the D mix is better than other mixs a side of all tests and its relation that is for the tunnel backfilling materials.

  • In this study, high volume of industrial by-products including blast furnace slag, recycled aggregate powder and incineration ash have been utilized on the slurry of the foamed lightweight concrete. As to decrease the price of the lightweight foam concrete, mortar based slurry and concrete based slurry has been fixed. As the variation of the foam conduction ratio and aggregates, the foam ratio and compressive strength has been tested. Results showed that using recycled aggregates in the slurry showed better effect than using natural aggregates due to the alkali properties of the recycled aggregates could activate the potential hydraulic properties of the blast furnace slag. Consider about the low price of the recycled aggregates, it could be identified that using recycled aggregates in high volume blast furnace slag blended lightweight concrete showed better compressive strength than natural aggregates.

  • In comparison with ordinary or heavy-weight concrete, light-weight air void concrete has the good aspects in optimizing super tall structure systems for the process of design considering wind load and seismic load by lightening total dead load of buildings and reducing natural resources used. Light-weight air void concrete has excellent properties of heat and sound insulating due to its high amount porosity of air voids. So, it has been used as partition walls and the floor of Ondol which is the traditional Korean floor heating system. Under the condition of which the supply of light-weight aggregates are limited, the development of light-weight concrete using air voids is highly required in the aspects of reduced manufacturing prices and mass production. In this study, we investigated the physical properties and thermal behaviors of specimens that applied different mixing ratios of foaming agent to evaluate the possibility of use in the structural elements. We proposed the estimating equation for compressive strength of each mix having different ratio of foaming agent. We also confirmed that the density of cement matrix is decreased as the mixing amount of foaming agent increase up to 0.6% of foaming agent mixing ratio which was observed by SEM. Based on porosity and compressive strength of control mortar without foaming agent, we built the estimating equations of compressive strength for mortars with foaming agent. The upper limit of use in foaming agent is about 0.6% of the binder amount. Each air void is independent, and size of voids range from 50 to $100{\mu}m$.

  • In this paper, result of whole test, When the Transfer Distance is increasing, Strength of Backfilling Material of NATM Composite lining Tunnel due to increasing Gravity was increased, but that is higher the Air Flotation than increasing Strength. So, That was predicted a drop of Permeability. And Performing the placing Lightweight Foamed Mortar, we think that it's performance in drain material was lost. Therefore We conclude that Proper Transfer Distance that taking Permeability through minimizing of Air Flotation Loss and getting the Need Strength is 50m.

  • This research studied production of lightweight filling production for sink hole restoration utilizing various industrial by-products(2kinds of fly ash, petro-cokes CFBC ash, blast furnace slag fine particle). For this purpose, the mixed raw material properties(compressive strength) behaviors according to the blending ratio of industrial by-products were examined by applying the experimental design method and statistical analysis was performed using the commercial program MINITAB. Compressive strengths of industrial by-products were strongly dependent on blast furnace slag powder. Compressive strength(3days aging) was 3~11MPa depending on the amount of blast furnace slag powder used. The use of CFBC fly ash was evaluated to have the least effect on compressive strength. In addition, the compressive strength and the coefficient of permeability were measured by preparing foamed concrete for the experimental batch 1 condition in the mixture experimental design. In this case, the bulk density is 0.9 to 1.0, the apparent porosity is 30 to 50%, the compressive strength(3days old) is 1 to 2MPa, and the permeability coefficient is $10^{-2}$ to $10^{-3}cm/sec$.
