This study investigates the mutual effects of the physical environment and the characteristics of user's need in the children's libraries of open plan type. The children's library as a flexible space should accept user's diverse needs. Especially, Children express more positive and diverse behaviors than adults in physical environment. As the design information obtained from observation of children's behaviors are put to architectural design, the more affluent environment in which children can do positive behaviors can be made. We used two research methods of the behavior observation and interview for the children's library, and could formulate various using actions through the behavior setting observation for using library. A relational description for reading environment in this study, based on the affordance and the behavior setting theories, provided us with rich accounts for the psychological and sociocultural resources in the children's library. Consequently, the following results can be summarized. First, children need territories for family use and for place and are using library effectively through taking the two territories. Second, the zoning according to age category should be done, as behavior patterns were observed differently according to age. Third, the space composition with openness should be designed, as children need social relation and learning through imitation and observation.

대출기록은 공공도서관에 축적되는 다양한 이용데이터로 이용 행태 분석을 통해 도서관서비스 개선에 적극 반영할 수 있다. 본 연구는 강서 양천지역 공공도서관 2개관의 대출기록 754,198건을 대상으로 대출이용자 및 대출 횟수, 대출자료, 대출시간 및 대출요일 분석을 실시하였다. 분석을 통해 두 도서관의 주된 이용자 계층, 도서관 방문 횟수, 주로 이용되는 자료의 주제, 주로 이용되는 시간을 확인할 수 있었고, 근접하였지만 환경이 서로 다른 두 도서관의 유사한 이용행태를 밝혀냄으로써 대출기록의 활용방안을 제시하였다.

Traditionally, the emphasis of the information services had been placed on the information provider's knowledge of information sources or information systems. However, in view of the increasing complexity of the information environment. and changes taking place in information professions the evaluation of the information services has callded for further research in interpersonal communication aspects of the librarian user interface especially that which links to user satisfaction. This experimental study was carried out for the purpose of exploring the implications of nonverbal behaviors in measuring user satisfaction in the light of the fact that the meaning of nonverbal clues includes more than verbal communication especially in dealing with variable barriers even though they operate at low levels of awareness. In this sense, among the wide range of nonverbal communication areas in particular kinesics, artifacts and the proximics were examined to suggest alternative model which can be applied effectively in our specific set of information work environment. Two major university libraries and two research libraries in Korea were chosen and visited for the anlysis and per each refernce/information interview the librarian's nonverbal behaviors were checked on the observer's checklist and the qustionnaires completed by the user at a time. On the basis of these data firstly, the relation of user satisfaction concerned with the librarian's nonverbal communication to user satisfaction with information services was analyzed and the possible communication barriers were investigated. In addition, the effect of training the information librarian with positive nonverbal communication skills on the user's satisfaction was analyzed in a SAS computer program in the area of kinesics. On the other hand, the effect of other nonverbal behaviors such as proximics and artifacts known very important clues to improving a complex human interaction was discussed along with their experimental results. In conclusion, it was found that most of users were not sensitive to the importance of nonverbal behaviors exposed by the information librarian, but it was proved that the ultimate user satisfaction and the satisfaction of the librarian's nonverbal behaviors are correlated positively, Moreover, nonverbal behaviors displayed by the trained librarian toward the user had a considerable effect on the user's evalution of information services compared with those by the untrained. These findings imply that in order to control the librarian's nonverbal behaviors and to help the user overcome his barriers the information librarian as a specialist needs to assure and modify willilingly his communication behavior. Without making effective use of such nonverbal communication, information librarian could not expect to meet the user's information needs either. However, when these positive nonverbal behaviors are applied it would be highly desirable to be aware of cultural and contextual differences. With regard to increasing information services success the applicable nonverbal communication model for library management and education can be suggested as below.

본 연구는 경영학분야 연구자들의 정보이용행태를 파악하여 이용자 요구에 기반 한 정보서비스를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 경영학 관련 K학회 회원을 대상으로 202건의 데이터를 수집하였다. 개인적인 배경, 일반적인 정보이용, 전자자원 이용, 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS) 및 모바일 서비스 정보이용, 도서관 및 정보센터 이용, 경영학 전문도서관 및 정보센터 이용 등을 조사 분석하였다. 연구결과에서는 효과적인 전자자원관리시스템(ERMS)을 구축하는 방안, 학술Web-DB 및 전자저널의 검색 활용 방법에 관한 이용교육 활성화, 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)와 모바일 서비스, 주제전문서비스 및 맞춤형 정보서비스 등의 활용 등을 제안하였다.

본 연구에서는 대학생의 전자저널 이용현황 및 이용행태를 조사하여 전자저널 이용 활성화 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 연구방법으로는 D대학교에서 교양과목을 수강하고 있는 일반학생과 문헌정보학전공 학생을 대상으로 도서관 웹사이트에 관한 인식 및 사용, 전자저널 이용행태, 서비스 품질, 이용자교육 및 홍보와 관련하여 설문조사와 면담조사를 병행하였다. 또한 자관 도서관 웹사이트 분석과 담당사서와의 면담조사를 통해 전자저널 서비스 제공과 관련하여 실무자의 입장에서 자료도 수집하였다. 연구결론에서는 설문 및 면담조사를 통하여 발견된 문제점에 대한 논의와 일반학생들의 전자저널 이용수준을 높이기 위한 방안을 제언하였다.

이 연구에서는 국회도서관 이용자인 입법관련 종사자와 일반 이용자를 대상으로 국회도서관의 공공기관 및 정부정보 서비스에 대한 설문조사를 바탕으로, 이용행태 및 만족도에 대해 분석하였다. 분석결과 공공기관 및 정부정보의 이용 및 필요성은 입법관련 종사자가 일반 이용자에 비해 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 응답자들은 전체적으로 국회도서관의 공공기관 및 정부정보 서비스를 개선할 필요가 있으며, 공공기관 및 정부정보를 통합하여 검색 제공할 포털사이트에 대한 필요성 역시 비교적 높게 인식하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

본 논문은 국내 대학도서관 학술연구정보 이용자들을 그들의 정보요구, 정보이용행태, 정보활용능력을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이용자들은 도서관 이용에 관한 기본적인 안내정보를 가장 많이 필요로 하고 있으나 대학의 온라인이나 오프라인 도서관시스템은 기본정보제공이 불충분한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이용자들은 학술연구정보에 대한 주제탐색의 요구를 가지고 있으나 이를 만족시킬 만한 탐색지식이나 정보원에 관한 정보가 부족한 상태인 것으로 드러났다. 이용자의 학술연구정보 활용능력은 저조한 편이며 특히 기사검색이나 원문검색과 같은 고급학술연구정보 활용능력은 극히 낮은 수준에 머물렀다. 대학도서관의 안내정보시스템과 사용자 인터페이스의 개선이 요망되며 피상적인 이용자교육을 지양한 고급의 학술연구정보를 활용할 수 있는 이용자교육이 요청된다.

대학도서관 멀티미디어실과 관련된 기존 연구가 다수 있었으나, 연구 범위와 데이터 분석방법이 제한적으로 이루어져 왔다. 주요 미비점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학도서관 멀티미디어실 전공계열 및 이용행태에 입각한 만족도 차이를 식별하지 않았다. 둘째, 전체만족도에 영향을 끼치는 도서관 제반 요인의 영역(자료, 자료검색, 장비 및 시설, 서비스 담당자)만족도간의 차이를 식별하지 않았다. 셋째, 개선방안 도출과 관련하여 '이용자' 집단만을 조사대상으로 하였으며, '서비스 담당자'들의 의견을 조사대상에 포함시키지 않았다. 이에 본 연구에서는 첫째, 대학도서관 멀티미디어실 이용자 전공계열이 이용행태에 끼치는 영향을 알아보고, 둘째, 멀티미디어실 이용자 만족도에 영향을 끼치는 영역만족도 요인들과 전체만족도간의 관계를 규명하고, 셋째, 이용자 및 서비스 담당자가 제시하는 대학도서관 멀티미디어실의 개선점을 발견하고자 하였다. 조사 대상은 서울동북부사립대학교도서관협의회에 소속된 대학 중 8개 학교이다. 본 연구에서의 조사결과를 토대로 한 제언사항은 다음과 관련된다: (1) 기존 시스템의 개선 필요성, (2) 장비 및 시설의 확충 필요성, (3) 자료의 확충 필요성, (4) 이용자 교육의 확대 필요성, (5) 행정 및 법적 관련요인에 대한 뒷받침의 필요성 등이다.

스마트폰의 보유율과 스마트폰을 이용한 인터넷 이용률이 증가하며 정보환경이 기존의 PC 환경에서 스마트 모바일 환경으로 전환하고 있다. 현재의 대학생들은 PC보다 스마트폰을, 문자보다 동영상 콘텐츠를 선호하는 특징을 갖는 Z세대이다. 따라서 본 연구는 스마트 모바일 환경에서 대학생들의 대학도서관 전자자료 이용행태가 어떠한 양상을 띠는지를 파악하고자 하였다. A대학도서관의 3년간의 전자책, 오디오북, 동영상 강의자료 이용데이터 61,433건과 이용자 데이터 1,595건을 수집하여 이용통계 분석을 실시하였다. 자료별 이용일자, 주제, 출판년도, 이용채널 데이터를 수집하고 이용자별 성별, 소속계열, 신분, 입학일, 졸업일 데이터를 수집하여 전자자료 이용의 일반적인 특징뿐만 아니라 성별/계열별/신분별 이용자 특성에 따른 전자자료 이용행태의 특성을 파악하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 변화하는 상황을 반영하고 향후 적용가능한 실질적인 전자자료 서비스 방안을 제시하였다.

공공도서관은 방문하는 이용자들의 배경이 다양하고 도서관을 찾는 목적 또한 다양하기 때문에 모든 이용자의 요구를 충분히 만족시키기에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이를 극복하기 위한 노력으로 공공도서관 자료의 만족 수준을 높일 수 있는 장서개발 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 공공도서관의 장서개발을 위해 서울특별시 소재 구립 공공도서관 10개관 이용자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 이용자의 장서이용행태를 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 서울시 구립 공공도서관을 위한 장서개발의 방향을 제시하였다.
