STABILITY OF PEXIDERIZED JENSEN AND JENSEN TYPE FUNCTIONAL EQUATIONS ON RESTRICTED DOMAINS

  • In this paper, using the Baire category theorem we investigate the Hyers-Ulam stability problem of pexiderized Jensen functional equation $$2f(\frac{x+y}{2})-g(x)-h(y)=0$$ and pexiderized Jensen type functional equations $$f(x+y)+g(x-y)-2h(x)=0,\\f(x+y)-g(x-y)-2h(y)=0$$ on a set of Lebesgue measure zero. As a consequence, we obtain asymptotic behaviors of the functional equations.

  • In this paper, using an efficient change of variables we refine the Hyers-Ulam stability of the alternative Jensen functional equations of J. M. Rassias and M. J. Rassias and obtain much better bounds and remove some unnecessary conditions imposed in the previous result. Also, viewing the fundamentals of what our method works, we establish an abstract version of the result and consider the functional equations defined in restricted domains of a group and prove their stabilities.

  • We prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of generalized Jensen's functional equations in Banach modules over a unital $C^{*}$-algebra. It is applied to show the stability of algebra homomorphisms between Banach algebras associated with generalized Jensen's functional equations in Banach algebras.

  • We prove the stability of generalized Jensen's equations in a Hilbert module over a unital $C^*$-algebra. This is applied to show the stability of a projection, a unitary operator, a self-adjoint operator, a normal operator, and an invertible operator in a Hilbert module over a unital $C^*$-algebra.

  • We prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of generalized Jensen's equations in Banach modules over a unital $C^{\ast}$-algebra. It is applied to show the stability of generalized Jensen's equations in a Hilbert module over a unital $C^{\ast}$-algebra. Moreover, we prove the stability of linear operators in a Hilbert module over a unital $C^{\ast}$-algebra.

  • Given an $m{\in}\mathbb{N}$ and two vector spaces V and W, a function f : $V^m{\rightarrow}W$ is called multi-Jensen if it satisfies Jensen's equation in each variable separately. In this paper we unify these m Jensen equations to obtain a single functional equation for f and prove its stability in the sense of Hyers-Ulam, using the so-called direct method.
