We present results on the intrinsic brightness temperature of a sample of compact radio sources observed at 86 GHz using the Global Millimeter VLBI Array. We use the observed brightness temperatures at 86 GHz and the observed superluminal motions at 15 GHz for the sample in order to constrain the characteristic intrinsic brightness temperature of the sample. With a statistical method for studying the intrinsic brightness temperatures of innermost jet cores of compact radio sources, assuming that all sources have the same intrinsic brightness temperature and the viewing angles of their jets are around the critical value for the maximal apparent speed, we find that sources in the sample have a characteristic intrinsic brightness temperature, $T_0=4.8^{+2.6}_{-1.5}{\times}10^9K$, which is lower than the equipartition temperature for the condition that the particle energy equals to the magnetic field energy. Our results suggest that the VLBI cores seen at 86 GHz may be representing a jet region where the magnetic field energy dominates the total energy in the jet.
In Bayesian model selection or testing problems, one cannot utilize standard or default noninformative priors, since these priors are typically improper and are defined only up to arbitrary constants. The resulting Bayes factors are not well defined. A recently proposed model selection criterion, the intrinsic Bayes factor overcomes such problems by using a part of the sample as a training sample to get a proper posterior and then use the posterior as the prior for the remaining observations to compute the Bayes factor. Surprisingly, such Bayes factor can also be computed directly from the full sample by some proper priors, namely intrinsic priors. The present paper explains how to derive intrinsic priors for simple tree ordered exponential means. Some numerical results are also provided to support theoretical results and compare with classical methods.
Two contributions to the activation barrier of the $S_N2$ reaction, intrinsic and thermodynamic, are discussed in connection with the predictive power of various rate-equilibrium relationships. It has been shown that the PES models can only give correct predictions of changes in structure and energy of the transition state if the activation barrier is dictated by the thermodynamic factor. We concluded that the identity and dissociative $S_N2$ reactions are dominated by the intrinsic component while associative $S_N2$ reactions are predominantly of thermodynamic controlled. Thus in the former cases, the PES models fail, whereas in the latter cases predictions based on the intrinsic factor, the quantum mechanical models, fail. Finally in a general case of equal contributions by thermodynamic and intrinsic factors, the $SN_2$ reaction proceeds by a synchronous process with zero net charge on the reaction center, for which predictions of substituent effects will be the same as for the intrinsic control case.
The paper examines how empowering leadership and intrinsic motivation contributed to explaining in-role behavior. In order to verify the relationships and mediating effect, data were collected from 414 individuals in employees working in small and medium-sized firms at Jinju, Changwon, Gimhae, Busan City to test theoretical model and its hypotheses. All data collected from the survey were analyzed using with SPSS 18.0. This study reports findings as follows: first, the relationship between the empowering leadership and the intrinsic motivation is positively related. Second, there was also a positive correlation between the intrinsic motivation and the in-role behavior. Third, the relationship between the empowering leadership and the in-role behavior is positively related. Finally, the intrinsic motivation played as a partial mediator on the relationship between empowering leadership and in-role behavior. Based on these findings, the implications and the limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.
The purpose of this study is to check mediating effect of middle school students' peer attachment on relation between self-esteem and intrinsic learning motivation. To this end, this study collected data by measuring the level of self-esteem, peer attachment, and intrinsic learning motivation for 457 male and female middle school students (225 male and 232 female students) located in S city, Jeollanam-do. The results of this study are as follows: The correlation between self-esteem, peer attachment and intrinsic learning motivation of middle school students was all significant. Self-esteem had a significant effect on peer attachment and intrinsic learning motivation, and peer attachment also had a significant effect on intrinsic learning motivation. Meanwhile, Peer attachment showed a partial mediating effect between self-esteem and intrinsic learning motivation. The mediating effect of peer attachment was different according to grade. Through this study, it was confirmed that the self-esteem of middle school students influences peer attachment, and that peer attachment influenced by self-esteem can influence intrinsic learning motivation. The implications and limitations of this study were also discussed.
The attenuation mechanism of seismic waves in the crust is controlled both by intrinsic absorption and scattering of energy. The amount of scattering and intrinsic energy losses from the total attenuation is separately estimated in this study for the southern Korean Peninsula. The formula to be deduced from the theoretical relationship between single back-scattered coda Q and multiple scattering theory was used to separate the total attenuation into the intrinsic Q and the scattering Q. It was found that the intrinsic Q was considerably lower than that of the scattering Q in the frequency range of 1.5 to 20 Hz. This fact implies that the energy loss caused by the intrinsic absorption is relatively larger than one by the scattering effect within the crust of the southern Korean Peninsula. Both intrinsic and scattering Q values appeared to be comparatively larger than those measured in other seismically active regions except for intrinsic Q in the frequency range of 1.5 to 3 Hz.

This study tested the relationship between servant leadership and intrinsic motivation. And, the mediating role of intrinsic motivation between servant leadership and individual performance was also investigated. Based on related theory and literature review, 4 hypotheses were developed and tested. Questionnaires were distributed to 280 employees of 3 service enterprises. Among returned questionnaires, 214 samples were used for empirical study. According to results, listening behavior of supervisor had significant positive effects on intrinsic motivation of subordinate. But, sympathy behavior and service behavior of supervisor had no significant effects on intrinsic motivation of subordinate. Also, intrinsic motivation of subordinate had significant positive effects on job satisfaction and organization commitment. Finally, the results suggest that intrinsic motivation mediate the relationship between servant leadership and individual performance. The mediating role of intrinsic motivation between servant leadership and individual performance was partly or fully supported. Implications and directions for future research are discussed in conclusion.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of intrinsic motivation and e-learning strategies on nursing students' learning satisfaction in blended e-learning environment. Method: The survey was performed with 111 undergraduate nursing students who have taken community health nursing in 1 university. The data was collected by questionnaires and were analyzed with the IBM SPSS statistics 20.0, using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Results: The mean score for intrinsic motivation was 3.25, for e-learning strategies, 3.56, and for learning satisfaction, 3.69. Significant positive correlation among intrinsic motivation, e-learning strategies, and learning satisfaction. The regression model explained 41.4% of learning satisfaction. Both intrinsic motivation and e-learning strategies were significant predictor of learning satisfaction. Conclusion: In order to improve the learners' learning achievement and learning satisfaction in blended e-learning environment, intrinsic motivation should be strengthen and e-learning strategies should be developed.

In this paper, a simple analytical model for deriving the threshold voltage of a short-channel intrinsic-body SDG SOI MOSFET is suggested. Using the iteration method, both Laplace equations in intrinsic silicon body and gate oxide are solved two-dimensionally. Obtained potential distributions in both regions are expressed in terms of fourth and fifth-order of the coordinate perpendicular to the silicon channel direction. Making use of them, the surface potential is obtained to derive the threshold voltage in a closed-form. Simulation results show the fairly accurate dependencies of the threshold voltage on the various device parameters and applied bias voltages.

In this paper, a simple analytical model for deriving the I-V characteristics of a cylindrical surrounding gate SOI MOSFET with intrinsic silicon core is suggested. The Poisson equation in the intrinsic silicon core and the Laplace equation in the gate oxide layer are solved analytically. The surface potentials at both source and drain ends are obtained by means of the bisection method. From them, the surface potential distribution is used to describe the I-V characteristics in a closed-form. Simulation results seem to show the dependencies of the I-V characteristics on the various device parameters and applied bias voltages within a range of satisfactory accuracy.
