  • In this paper, we deals with scheduling problem for data-path synthesis in high-level synthesis. We proposed a new method to optimize interconnection cost for operator allocation. Especially, we focus to optimize for buses to transfer data channel and register to restore operation result. Also we take account ILP formulation in order to get optimal scheduling result. To verify the effectiveness of this study, we select 5th Digital Wave Filter. The experimental result show that purposed method was better then the general methods.

  • An offshore wind power plant (WPP) is very expensive and different from an onshore wind power system in many ways. There has been a continuous increase in the capacity of the offshore WPPs. Therefore it is essential to analyze the feasibility and reliability of the offshore wind power to optimize their redundancy. Besides, it is very important to study a planning for grid interconnection of adjacent offshore WPPs. This paper proposes a economic evaluation method to interconnect with adjacent offshore substations in offshore wind power grid. Also, we suggest the probabilistic reliability method to calculate a probabilistic power output of the wind turbine and a cost of the expected energy not supplied that is used as the reliability index of the power system.

  • This paper evaluates minimum and maximum power exchange considering economic and technical characteristics between Russia and ROK. First, we evaluate minimum power exchange to assure the economic feasibility by comparison with the total cost and benefit of the interconnected line. For evaluating maximum exchange power, system constraints are considered, which are examined through load flow and dynamic analysis by using the PSS/E program. As a result of these evaluations, we suggest the reasonable range of power exchange between ROK and Russia considering economic and technical constraints with the interconnection scenario that power system interconnection between ROK and Russia will be realized in the year 2010.

  • In this paper, we propose a new class of MIN(Multistage Interconnection Network) called Combine MIN which combines static network topology and apimic network topology. Combine U provides multiple paths at a hardware cost lower than that of MIN with unique path property. Combine MIN can be constructed suitable for localized communication by providing the shortcut path and multiple paths inside the processor-memory cluster which has frequent data communications. According to the results of analysis and simulation for performance evaluation, Combine MIN shows higher performance than MINs of the same network size in the highly localized communication Therefore, Combine MIN can be used as an attractive interconnection network for parallel applications with a localized communication pattern in shared-memory multiprocessor systems.

  • Recently, a HyperStar network HS(2n,n) has been introduced as a new interconnection network of new topology for parallel processing. HyperStar network has properties of hypercube and star graph, further improve the network cost of a hypercube with the same number of nodes. In this paper, we show a construction algorithm of edge-disjoint spanning trees in HyperStar network HS(2n,n). Also, we prove that edge-disjoint spanning tree by the algorithm is optimal.

  • It is one of the important measures in the area of algorithm design that any interconnection network should be embedded into another interconnection network for the practical use of algorithm. A HCN(n, n), HFN(n, n) graph also has such a good properties of a hypercube and has a lower network cost than a hypercube. In this paper, we propose a method to embed between hypercube $Q_2n$ and HCN(n, n), HFN(n, n) graph. We show that hypercube $Q_2n$ can be embedded into an HCN(n, n) and KFN(n, n) with dilation 3, and average dilation is smaller than 2. Also, we has a result that the embedding cost, a HCN(n, n) and KFN(n, n) can be embedded into a hypercube, is O(n)

  • This study redefines the networks' connection behaviors and the terms confusion over the settlement in Netflix-SK Broadband's dispute through domestic and foreign legal references. Conflict parties, academics and the media use the terms "interconnection fee" or "Access fee" without uniformity, and in some cases mixes for strategic purposes. The use of different terms for the same phenomenon (or vice versa) has a high need for research in that it makes it difficult to reach a unified approach to the problem, to discuss it productively and rationally, and, moreover, to resolve disputes. Therefore, this study cross-referenced/analyzed terms related to network utilization and connectivity, namely "Use", "Access", "Interconnection" and thus cost-related terms as a counter-pay. In addition, it suggests that interconnection fees and access fees should be used separately, and allows them to function as a starting point in resolving future ICT sector issues. As a result of this study, the price against the network access/use between Netflix and SK Broadband is access fee or retail price, and proposes to be used uniformly in the term "interconnection fee" only for fees incurred in interconnection between ISPs that possess or operate networks.

  • This study explores reasonable alternatives to internet interconnection policy. Due to the development of information and communication technology, patterns of the Internet usage are changing rapidly, including increase of video streaming services. For this reason, there is a lively discussion of the Internet interconnection policy, which integrates various Internet service operators into one ecosystem. We conducted an Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) analysis with 16 experts in government/public, and academic sectors, and alternative selection criteria and their corresponding alternatives and detailed tasks were evaluated. According to the results, the most important alternative selection criteria was a "fair charge against foreign service operators", and the most desirable alternative was "partial revise". Moreover, the experts responded that "reassessment of the principle of the charge" is the most urgent task to improve the Internet interconnection policy.

  • Optimization of interconnects among processors and memories becomes important as multiple processors and memories can be integrated on a Multi-Processor System-on-Chip (MPSoC). Since the optimal interconnection architecture is usually dependent on the applications, systematic design methodology for various data transfer requirements is necessary. In this paper, we focus on bus interconnection for MPSoC applications which use 4 ~ 16 processors. We propose a new systematic bus design methodology under performance constraints using Single Arbitration Multiple Bus Accesses (SAMBA) style bus architectures. Optimized bus architecture is found to satisfy performance constraints for a single or multiple applications. When compared to the unoptimized architecture, our method can reduce the bus switch logic circuits significantly (by more than 50% sometimes). Furthermore, low cost bus architectures can be found to satisfy the performance constraints for multiple applications.

  • Component Cost Analysis considers any given system driven by a white noise process as an interconnection of different components, and assigns a metric called "component cost" to each component. These component costs measure the contribution of each component to a predefined quadratic cost function. One possible use of component costs is for model reduction by deleting those components that have the smallest component cost. The theory of Component Cost Analysis is extended to include finite-bandwidth colored noises. The results also apply when actuators have dynamics of their own. When the dynamics of this input are added to the plant, which is to be reduced by CCA, the algorithm for model reduction process will be called Weighted Component Cost Analysis (WCCA). Closed-form analytical expressions of component costs for continuous time case, are also derived for a mechanical system described by its modal data. This is very useful to compute the modal costs of very high order systems beyond Lyapunov solvable dimension. A numerical example for NASA's MINIMAST system is presented.presented.
