Relationships between Self-Efficacy, Career Maturity, and Information Subject Achievement According to Information Classes (정보교과수업에 따른 자기효능감, 진로성숙도, 정보교과성취도의 관계)

  • In this study, in order to investigate the relationships between the self-efficacy, career maturity, and information subject achievement of information-specialized high school students according to information subject classes, their correlations were analyzed through a survey of 214 second and third year students enrolled in two information-specialized high schools in Seoul. The main results are as follows. First, in the analysis of differences in self-efficacy, career maturity, and information subject achievement according to demographic characteristics, there was no significant difference according to gender, grade, extracurricular or individual learning for information subjects. The more they recognized that their grades belonged to the upper group, the higher their sense of self-efficacy and information subject achievement were perceived, and the higher their career maturity. Second, the students' self-efficacy was analyzed to have a positive effect on their career maturity and information subject achievement. Finally, it was found that the students' career maturity had a positive effect on their information subject achievement. Based on the above results, we briefly present the development direction for the education system to improve students' self-efficacy, career maturity, and information subject achievement.

  • In this study, the contents of the revised curriculum in 2007 for the area of 'Information Society and Information Technology' in 'Informatics subject matter for middle school have been analyzed. In addition, evaluation standards have been suggested based on the achievement standards, which have been detailed according to the analyzed results in the study. Since the suggested achievement and evaluation standards have been developed based on the revision of the curriculum, the results in this study are expected to be helpful especially in 2010 for teaching and learning activities such as setting up the educational objects for teaching and learning, developing evaluation methods, improving the teaching and learning methods, setting the level and range of teaching and learning area, and etc.

  • The National Assessment of Educational Achievement has been conducted in the form of sampling assessment until 2007, but it was converted into sampling assessment one hundred percent working with relevant whole students in 2008. Therefore, the necessity of new study on the national assessment system of educational achievement was on the rise. The National Assessment System of Educational Achievement, which was implemented in this thesis was designed to analyze educational achievement status all over the province, total score and score frequency distribution per subject, item difficulty and item discrimination, degree of attraction of wrong answers, educational achievement per subject, gender, region, office of education, school, individual and status of students with high educational achievement.

  • This thesis is the study of the relationship between school libraries and academic achievement. This thesis defines research areas between shool libraries and academic achivement, analyzes the representive related thesis, and then partly applies meta-analysis methodology. This thesis presents research sciences, research methodologies, statistical techniques, and research pursuit pertinent to Korea for the scientific research between school libraies and academic achievement. In the future, to develop school libraries in the long term, in-depth academic research must be developed. The focus of the research should include the MLS and Ph. D. thesis of 'education of information and library as a subject matter' field to analyze the realtionship between school libraries and academic achievement.

The Development and Application of a Flipped Learning-Based Smart Teaching and Learning System for Elementary Subject Matter Education (초등 교과 교육을 위한 플립 러닝 기반 스마트 교수-학습 시스템의 개발 및 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was threefold: to design and develop a smart teaching and learning system based on flipped learning for elementary subject matter education; to apply the system to the elementary classroom; and to examine the effects of the system on students' achievement and satisfaction levels. The system was composed of a video part, a date part, and a learning line part. Presentations, preinstructional videos, and spreadsheets were created for the flipped classroom. The results of the analyses indicated that the teaching and learning system positively influenced students' achievement and satisfaction levels. The study concluded with the implications of the study and suggestions for the future study.

The Effect of STEM Integration Education Using Educational Robot on Academic Achievement and Subject Attitude (교육용 로봇을 활용한 STEM 통합교육이 학업성취, 교과태도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of the research is examine the effect of STEM integration education using educatinal robot on academic achievement and subject Attitude of mathematics and science. The participants were 73 students of two classes, sampled from 6th graders of an elementary school. They were divided into a control group who learned a traditional mathematics and sciences education based textbooks and an experimental group who learned STEM integration education using educational robot during 12 sessions. The results are summarized as follows : First, there is a significant difference in academic achievement between two groups. STEM integration education using educational robot based group accomplished higher achievement than textbook based instruction group. Especially, post test analyzes results on the three factors of academic achievement, knowledge, understanding and adaptation, indicate statistically meaningful difference between two groups in understanding and adaptation area except knowledge area. Second, it shows that it greatly affected a positive influence on experimental group's attitude toward subjects in affective area. So we can expect STEM integration education using educational robot to be an alternative for stimulating children's higher learning interest on mathematics and science subject.

4D AI Convergence Education Model (4차원 인공지능 융합 교육 모형)

  • In this study, a model that can converge with artificial intelligence in each subject as software and artificial intelligence education become mandatory in the curriculum revised in 2022 is proposed. The proposed AI convergence education model is based on the content of the subject (accomplishment standard + subject). The second axis is artificial intelligence tools, the third axis is artificial intelligence technology, and the fourth axis is data applied in daily life. In order to apply artificial intelligence to each subject, it is necessary to apply artificial intelligence tools, artificial intelligence technology, and data in daily life to the achievement standards and content of each subject. If the achievement standards and subject contents are structured in this way, it can be seen that the convergence with each subject is good. Therefore, when composing textbooks by achievement standards and topics, it is necessary to add artificial intelligence tools, artificial intelligence technology, and daily data.

Students' variables and educational achievement in English (학습자 배경변인과 국가수준 영어 학업성취도)

  • This study explores issues on how students' variables are related to their educational achievement in English subject. The National Assessment of Educational Achievement (NAEA) is conduced every year to measure educational progress and achievement, and to monitor the quality of education at the national level and appropriateness of the national curriculum. It also serves the purpose to collect background information affecting educational achievement. The background information is gathered by using questionnaires for students, teachers and school administrators. Among the student variables in the national level educational achievement assessment is self-regulated learning, which is composed of self-efficacy, self-control and learning strategy. In the NAEA in 2005 it was found that the features of self-regulated learning were significantly correlated to test scores in English. The findings from the analysis of the trends of the relationships between test scores in English and information on students' self-regulated learning provide implications for the national curriculum as well as for learning and teaching.

The Relationship Analysis Between Academic Library Usage and Academic Achievement (대학생의 도서관 이용과 학업성취도 간의 영향관계 분석)

  • This study aims to investigate the relationship between university library usage and educational achievement of academic library users. To proceed with this study, academic library usage data were collected from S university undergraduate students. Academic achievement was measured using the students' grade point average(GPA). T-test and analysis of variance were used to compare differences of means between library usage and academic achievement with the background variables. Hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to determine the association between library usage and academic achievement. As a result, a positive correlation was found between academic achievement and the use of library resources and services according to gender, year and academic subject. In addition, academic library usage had a positive significant influence on academic achievement. Students who used more library resources and facilities ultimately get better grades.

  • This study had a purpose to find the correlation between academic achievement and entrance examination score using FCA and framing a concept of university academic achievement and entrance examination score and then, building concept lattice. The subject for this analysis was admission materials of freshmen in computer engineering department at A university located in Chungcheong area in 2010. Also 56 students in total were subjects for the score analysis of their first semester from 2010 to 2014. The major findings of this study were as follows. We organized and extracted many-valued context, concept lattice, associated rules using FCA. And we analyzed the correlation between University academic achievement and entrance examination score using FCA. The conclusions were as follows. We could get meaningful analyzed results using FCA. University academic achievement had lower relativeness with entrance examination score and female students had higher university academic achievement than male students. The improvement points are summarized below. It is necessary to improve the ratio and application method of the university admission factors and to increase the regular admission for a university. And programs for completing College-preparatory programming for male students in low university academic achievement are necessary.
