Analysis on Knowledge and Skills for Information Security Professionals (정보보호 분야 직무별 필요 지식 및 기술 분석)

  • As the importance of information security becomes a major concern, there has been growing effort to educate information security professionals. This study aims to analyze the level of required knowledge and skills for four information security skills groups: strategy and planning; research and development; system management and operation; and accident control. For this study, we selected 55 critical knowledge and skills for information security professionals by literature review and Delphi method, and we conducted a survey of information security knowledge and skills requirements for information security professionals to perform their jobs. As a result, we analyzed the current status of the information security professionals' knowledge and skills level and suggested some guidelines for establishing the demand-based curriculum for training information security professionals.

  • Defense reform our military for the globalization of information. Scientific command structure, troop structure, unit structure, step-by-step into the power structure while promoting a history of quantitative-oriented structure, and structure of the quality of state-of-the-art technology-driven transition in the middle of the bottle numberplans about the current 3.3-fold increase in reducing the cadre(officers and NCOs). Thus effectively improve the quality of education and the demands of the job analysis, DACUM curriculum development methods and procedures can be applied at the time of urgent need for foster an excellent resource for the discharge of curriculum development at the University of Selected as a core job, career, and job classification configuration inside of Duty according to KST derived from the group reflect on the training courses to meet the requirements in the curriculum through the development of curriculum, job definition, job model set to propose.

  • The potential risks of Korean public security has been increasing by economic stagnation. As a result of this, a feeling of unrest about our society causes expansion of private security industry as well as necessity of professional education. It has been 15years to produce security expert in colleges which is professional education institute, and academic efforts and contributions to society are shown remarkable results for the period. A private security industry had got public interest as a potential favorable job, because of increasing dependence of public to take care of unrest facts. Many colleges have introduced courses about public security because of facing necessity of professional education system. Then total 59 institutes including 22 universities and 37 colleges introduce courses of public security. Although name of courses are diverse depends on institution, purpose of course or members of course, the ultimate purpose of these courses is preventing public from crimes and managing public security. A fixed and out of date education system of universities in Korea can not produce talent person who people, companies and government want. The institutions have been recruiting many student so far, and it shows growth of the industry in quantity aspects. However quality aspect of the industry has been failed because it is hard to get a job for graduated students. Consequently, to improve quality of the industry people need cooperation of institution, professors and students.

  • Recently the demand for civil bodyguards and security guards shows rapid growth by the social development and improve the quality of life. However the supply and training system have some limitations in spite of the high demand guard-secretary. The main role of secretaries has been to accompany superiors in order to maintain their dignity or trait. But the secretaries are required to play additional roles of safety managers such as a security manager, a protocol manager, an intelligence manager and a protective driver in order to overcome the domestic and the international safety environment and to elevate the quality of service as a competitive work. So, the purpose of this article is to analyse current situation of civil body and security guard training industry and to seek an educational model. For it, the following questions will be examined. First, Do the professional training organizations meet social demand for the body and security guards? Second, What kind of training has to be provide for the body and security guards? and what the qualifications of the trainers? Then, what are the differences in training courses between private organizations and universities? Is there differences in the job placement among the trainers of private organizations and universities? etc.. In summary to meet the social demand common curriculum for the body and security guard will be drawn from the analyses of diverse training organizations with different training courses in contents, training periods, educational value, and social aim.

KASP-Integrated Learning Model for the Information Security Education in Elementary Education (초등 정보보호 교육을 위한 KASP-통합수업 모형)

  • This study proposed the information security integrated learning model-based KASP. By analyzing the teaching materials regarding information security in the regular curriculum, and by investigating preliminary studies, the information security contents were examined in terms of knowledge, attitudes, skills and ways to practice(KASP). And, the KASP-information security learning model integrating knowledge, attitudes, and ways to practice was developed, and the teaching plan and learning material hand-out were accordingly made out. Moreover, the developed model was tested in an experimental group, and common information security learning content centered on ethics in the comparison group in order to compare the results of two groups. As the test result analysis, it was verified that the developed KASP-information security integrated learning model was effective to help the students learn the knowledge, attitudes, skills and ways to practice.

  • Because intelligent and organized cyber attack, It is difficult to respond to cyber threats with only a small number of information security experts. Accordingly, information security department compared to 2013 it increased by 17%. But there was a problem that cannot train appropriate students for companies. This research examined the Workforce Framework and Knowledge Units for improving this situation. Based on this, educational department in cyber security major was selected to be learning at the university. And it proposed a plan for a managing course to operate. And the result will be utilized as fundamental research of human resources medium- and long-term demand and supply planning in cyber security department.

  • The development in IT technology has brought about various services that are on offer based on a new service model. But such new services have increased security risks. The government is operating a program to foster experts in information security to protect assets from the threat of such risks, too. Society's awareness on the importance of information security has also grown, leading to various courses to train such personnel, including membership clubs for the fostering of such specialists. This study seeks to suggest a method that efficiently manages the convergence of running a curriculum on ISMS(information security management systems) and a club that focuses on information protection. Such converged information security courses are expected to contribute to a safer IT-based society.

  • Successful industries that have maintained their competitiveness are characterized by well-established skills framework system. Skills framework establishes the agreed-upon, industry-identified knowledge, skills and abilities required to succeed in the workplace. Skills framework forms a solid foundation for the development of outcomes-based instruction and assessment, thus it benefits industry, students, educators and government. Each group has a major stake in the education of our students and in the efficient development of a productive workforce. Particularly in fast-changing fields like information security, relevant data that accurately reflect current and future knowledge and skills enable timely direction of resources, development and revision of industry-relevant curriculum, and efficient development of career information and job profiles. Skills framework occupies an indispensable position in any dialog concerning education or training in technical fields. In this study, we develop the skills framework for information security professionals.

  • The recent convergence in ICT industry has created new businesses as well as other opportunities. However, it entails new convergence threat accompanied by security risks. Even though there are security professionals who are dealing with the situation, there is not enough human resource in risk management. Moreover, the amount of research that studies quality of education and training security personnel is not sufficient. This paper explores the curriculum of information security education in the private sector and reasons out fifteen standard curriculums in four professional fields categorized by job classification. In addition, it provides a weighted score table based on the evaluation indicator for the effective security education certificates in the private sector.

  • With the rapid development of autonomous vehicle technology, unexpected accidents are occurring. Therefore, it is necessary to minimize user accident damage through the development of autonomous traffic safety education. Since edge cases, accident type, and risk factor analysis are important for realistic education, overseas case studies and demonstrations were carried out, and based on this, two curriculum for service providers and general users were developed. The service provider curriculum consisted of OEDR, sudden stop, cut-in, take-over, defensive driving, system malfunction, policy and information security education, and the general user curriculum consisted of attention duty, take-over, operating design domain, accidents type, laws, functions, information security education.
