  • PURPOSE. This study aims to assess and predict lifespan of dental prostheses using newly developed Korean Association of Prosthodontics (KAP) criteria through a large-scale, multi-institutional survey. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Survey was conducted including 16 institutions. Cox proportional hazards model and principal component analysis (PCA) were used to find out relevant factors and predict life expectancy. RESULTS. 1,703 fixed and 815 removable prostheses data were collected and evaluated. Statistically significant factors in fixed prosthesis failure were plaque index and material type, with a median survival of 10 to 18 years and 14 to 20 years each. In removable prosthesis, factors were national health insurance coverage, antagonist type, and prosthesis type (complete or partial denture), with median survival of 10 to 13 years, 11 to 14 years, and 10 to 15 years each. For still-usable prostheses, PCA analysis predicted an additional 3 years in fixed and 4.8 years in removable prosthesis. CONCLUSION. Life expectancy of a prosthesis differed significantly by factors mostly controllable either by dentist or a patient. Overall life expectancy was shown to be longer than previous research.

  • In this paper, to include more generalized cases, the authors present a modified concept for the tripled and quadruple fixed point of the mixed monotone mappings. Also, they investigate the existence and uniqueness of fixed point of the ordered monotone operator with the Matkowski contractive conditions in the partial ordered metric spaces. As the direct consequences, the existence of coupled fixed point, tripled fixed point and quadruple fixed point are explored at the common framework and some previous results in [T. G. Bhaskar and V. Lakshmikan-tham, Fixed point theory in partially ordered metric spaces and applications, Nonlinear Anal. 65 (2006), 1379-1393; V. Berinde and M. Borcut, Tripled fixed point theorems for contractive type mappings in partially ordered metric spaces, Nonlinear Anal. 74 (2011), no. 15, 4889-4897; E. Karapinar and N. V. Luong, Quadruple fixed point theorems for nonlinear contractions, Computers and Mathematics with Applications (2012), doi:10.1016/j.camwa.2012.02061] are improved. Finally, some fixed point theorems are proved.

  • Purpose At now, there are many kind of dedicated heart SPECT machine in clinical nuclear medicine. Among those, the fixed focusing type SPECT can make a good quality, quantity image because a detectors of this SPECT arranged forward a special ROI and didn't rotate around of body. So, in this paper, we will evaluate a spatial uniformity about resolution and sensitivity at a same plane of a fixed focusing type SPECT. Materials and Methods We used D-SPECT as a fixed focusing type SPECT and Cario MD as a rotated parallel type SPECT to comparing each other. We injected $^{99m}Tc(14.8MBq/1cc)$ to 10 capillary tube (diameter=1mm), and we set those line sources a tfield of view of each SPECT. And then we acquired SPECT date, we applied are construction by recommended methods. By using two tomography images, we calculated a full width of half maximum as a resolution and total counts as a sensitivity, and we compared a CV (coefficientofvariation) values between two images as a spatial uniformity. Results In case of D-SPECT, a CV of resolution and sensitivity are 7.45%, 12.34%. In case of Cario MD, an CV of resolution and sensitivity are 12.49%, 21.84% Conclusion As a results, CV of resolution and sensitivity of a fixed focusing type SPECT is 67.75%, 77.00% higher than ones of a rotated parallel type SPECT. It means that a fixed focusing type SPECT is more uniformed, because this new SPECT can reduce a motion blur artifact by rotating detector around body, also all of detector that made by semiconductor arrange forward a special FOV like heart.

  • In this paper, the power generation efficiency of the 4 [kW] fixed-concentrated type photovoltaic power generation system and that of the 4 [kW] single axis trace type photovoltaic power generation system were compared. For that purpose, the two types of photovoltaic power generation systems have been in operation for 1 year on an experimental basis. The amounts of power generated by the two types during the months of January through December and the characteristics of their operating times during the same period have been compared and analyzed. For the study, the type with higher efficiency was selected and the following conclusions have been reached. It was shown that the amount of power generated and the average operation times during the spring months of March through May are higher that those of the summer months of June through August when more sunlight is available. The reason for this phenomenon is thought to be that as the temperatures of the solar panel surface and the surrounding environment go up, the electric current decreases.

  • In this paper, we will consider some existence theorems of common fixed points for a countable family of non-self multi-valued mappings defined on a closed subset of a complete metrically convex space, and give more generalized common fixed point theorems for a countable family of single-valued mappings. The main results in this paper generalize and improve many common fixed point theorems for single valued or multi-valued mappings with contractive type conditions.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present some fixed point results for nonself multivalued operators on a set with two metrics. In addition, a homotopy result for multivalued operators on a set with two metrics is given. The data dependence and the well-posedness of the fixed point problem are also discussed.

  • Based on the Schauder fixed point theorem, we give a Leray-Schauder type fixed point theorem for countably condensing mappings in a more general setting and apply it to obtain eigenvalue results on condensing mappings in a simple proof. Moreover, we present a generalization of Sadovskii's fixed point theorem for count ably condensing self-mappings due to S. J. Daher.

  • Matthews introduced the concepts of partial metric spaces and proved the Banach fixed point theorem in complete partial metric spaces. Dukic, Kadelburg, and Radenovic proved fixed point theorems for Geraghty-type mappings in complete partial metric spaces. In this paper, we prove the fixed point theorem for some contractive mapping in a complete partial metric space.

  • In this paper, a class of fractional integrodifferential equations of mixed type with nonlocal conditions is considered. First, using contraction mapping principle and Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem via Gronwall's inequailty, the existence and uniqueness of mild solution are given. Second, the existence of optimal pairs of systems governed by fractional integrodifferential equations of mixed type with nonlocal conditions is also presented.
