  • The hemispherical resonator gyroscope is a type of vibratory gyroscope, which can measure angle or angular rate, based on its operating mode. This paper deals with the case when the hemispherical resonator gyroscope is operated in angle measurement mode. In angle measurement mode, the resonator pattern angle precesses, with respect to the external rotation input, by the principle of the Coriolis effect, so that the external rotation can be estimated, by measuring the amount of precession angle. However, this pattern angle drifts, due to the manufacturing error of the resonator. Since the drift effect causes degradation of the angle estimation performance of the resonator, the corresponding drift compensation control should be performed, to enhance the estimation performance. In this paper, a mathematical model of the hemispherical resonator gyro is first introduced. By using the mathematical model, a nonlinear observer for imperfection parameter estimation, and the corresponding compensation controller are designed to operate hemispherical resonator gyros, as angle measurement sensors.

  • In this paper, the concepts of k-smoothness, k-very smoothness and k-strongly smoothness of Banach spaces are dealt with together briefly by introducing three types k-denting point regarding different topology of conjugate spaces of Banach spaces. In addition, the characterization of first type ${\omega}^*-k$ denting point is described by using the slice of closed unit ball of conjugate spaces.

  • In this paper, we study the eigenvalue problem of Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger-type operator on bounded domains in strictly pseudoconvex CR manifolds and obtain some universal inequalities for lower order eigenvalues. Moreover, we will give some generalized Reilly-type inequalities of the first nonzero eigenvalue of the sub-Laplacian on a compact strictly pseudoconvex CR manifold without boundary.

  • If for every elements x and y of an associative algebraic structure (S, ${\cdot}$) there exists a positive integer r such that $ab=b^ra$, then S is called quasi-commutative. Evidently, every abelian group or commutative semigroup is quasi-commutative. Also every finite Hamiltonian group that may be considered as a semigroup, is quasi-commutative however, there are quasi-commutative semigroups which are non-group and non commutative. In this paper, we provide three finitely presented non-commutative semigroups which are quasi-commutative. These are the first given concrete examples of finite semigroups of this type.

  • In this article, we first give metric version of an iteration scheme of Agarwal et al. [1] and approximate fixed points of two finite families of nonexpansive mappings in hyperbolic spaces through this iteration scheme which is independent of but faster than Mann and Ishikawa scheme. Also we consider case of three finite families of nonexpansive mappings. But, we need an extra condition to get convergence. Our convergence theorems generalize and refine many know results in the current literature.

  • This paper investigates infinite horizon optimal control problems driven by a class of backward stochastic delay differential equations in Hilbert spaces. We first obtain a prior estimate for the solutions of state equations, by which the existence and uniqueness results are proved. Meanwhile, necessary and sufficient conditions for optimal control problems on an infinite horizon are derived by introducing time-advanced stochastic differential equations as adjoint equations. Finally, the theoretical results are applied to a linear-quadratic control problem.

  • In this article, we first introduce the notion of commuting Ricci tensor and pseudo-anti commuting Ricci tensor for Hopf hypersurfaces in the homogeneous nearly Kähler 𝕊3 × 𝕊3 and prove that the mean curvature of hypersurface is constant under certain assumptions. Next, we prove the nonexistence of Ricci soliton on Hopf hypersurface with potential Reeb vector field, which improves a result of Hu et al. on the nonexistence of Einstein Hopf hypersurfaces in the homogeneous nearly Kähler 𝕊3 × 𝕊3.

  • In this paper, we give some results on 2-strongly Gorenstein projective modules and related rings. We first investigate the relationship between strongly Gorenstein projective modules and periodic modules and then give the structure of modules over strongly Gorenstein semisimple rings. Furthermore, we prove that a ring R is 2-strongly Gorenstein hereditary if and only if every ideal of R is Gorenstein projective and the class of 2-strongly Gorenstein projective modules is closed under extensions. Finally, we study the relationship between 2-Gorenstein projective hereditary and 2-Gorenstein projective semisimple rings, and we also give an example to show the quotient ring of a 2-Gorenstein projective hereditary ring is not necessarily 2-Gorenstein projective semisimple.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity. In this paper, we introduce a new class of ideals called the class of strongly quasi J-ideals lying properly between the class of J-ideals and the class of quasi J-ideals. A proper ideal I of R is called a strongly quasi J-ideal if, whenever a, b ∈ R and ab ∈ I, then a2 ∈ I or b ∈ Jac(R). Firstly, we investigate some basic properties of strongly quasi J-ideals. Hence, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for a ring R to contain a strongly quasi J-ideals. Many other results are given to disclose the relations between this new concept and others that already exist. Namely, the primary ideals, the prime ideals and the maximal ideals. Finally, we give an idea about some strongly quasi J-ideals of the quotient rings, the localization of rings, the polynomial rings and the trivial rings extensions.

  • This paper tries to show the formation of 'Kyungpook School' that is a nickname given to mathematicians of Kyungpook National University (KNU). In the early period, the role of professor Park Jung-gi was the most important drive to set the research tradition. He made Korea's first english journal in mathematics, Kyungpook Mathematical Journal KMJ which became a cornerstone for students to join the international academic community. Professor Ki U-hang published the most amount of papers in Korea in 1970s and became a role model for young scholars. In this background, KNU's Topology and Geometry Research Center at KNU was chosen as the only Science Research Center in mathematics in 1989, and KNU's mathematicians could get a long-period support for capable mathematics researchers' community.
