Groundwater is widely used as drinking water supplies around the world. However, microbial contamination of groundwater is a serious environmental problem that degrades drinking water quality and poses a great threat to human health. Among the pathogenic microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, and protozoa, viruses are not readily removed during transport through soils, having high mobility in groundwater environment due to their smaller size compared to bacteria and protozoa. Studies regarding the fate and transport of viruses in soils and aquifers are necessary to determine the vulnerability of groundwater to microbial contamination and to secure safe drinking water sources. Also, these studies provide important information to establish the regulations and policies related to public health. This review paper presented the field and laboratory studies conducted for the fate and transport of viruses in subsurface environments. Also, the paper provided the factors affecting the fate and transport of viruses, the characteristics of bacteriophages used for virus studies, and virus transport model/colloid filtration theory. Based on this review work, future researches should be performed actively to set up the viral protection zone for the protection of groundwater from viral contamination sources. Especially, the researches should be focused on the development of mathematical models to calculate the setback distance and travel time for the viral protection zone along with the accumulation of information related to the model parameters.

The purpose of this study is to research the countermeasures and expected effects through the use of drones in the field of disaster prevention as a drone-based smart quarantine performance method. The environmental, market, and technological approaches to the review of the current quarantine performance task and its countermeasures are as follows. First, in terms of the environment, the effectiveness of the quarantine performance business using drone-based control is to broaden the utilization of forest, bird flu, livestock, facility areas, mosquito larvae, pests, and to simplify and provide various effective prevention systems such as AI and cholera. Second, in terms of market, the standardization of livestock and livestock quarantine laws and regulations according to the use of disinfection and quarantine missions using domestic standardized drones through the introduction of new technologies in the quarantine method, shared growth of related industries and discovery of new markets, and animal disease prevention It brings about the effect of annual budget savings. Third, the technical aspects are (1) on-site application of disinfection and prevention using multi-drone, a new form of animal disease prevention, (2) innovation in the drone industry software field, and (3) diversification of the industry with an integrated drone control / control system applicable to various markets. (4) Big data drone moving path 3D spatial information analysis precise drone traffic information ensures high flight safety, (5) Multiple drones can simultaneously auto-operate and fly, enabling low-cost, high-efficiency system deployment, (6) High precision that this was considered due to the increase in drone users by sector due to the necessity of airplane technology. This study was prepared based on literature surveys and expert opinions, and the future research field needs to prove its effectiveness based on empirical data on drone-based services. The expected effect of this study is to contribute to the active use of drones for disaster prevention work and to establish policies related to them.
Because of space constraints of the ship, accessibility to supporting system for nonsmoking is poor in seafarers' group. This study was performed to find the smoking status, second-hand smoking status and factors related to smoking habit of Korean seafarers. So, we examined the rate of smoking and secondhand smoking, and knowledge about smoking, attitude for smoking behavior, smoking cessation intention and working environment related to smoking of 155 seafarers. Their smoking rate was 32.3% and secondhand smoke rate was very high by 86.5%. Their working place equipped a separate smoking room, but most of them had been smoked in where they were stayed. and we found the inadequate ventilation facility in 42.6%. Only 21.9% had a experience of education for smoking cessation. From the study Attitude for smoking behavior was negative and smoking knowledge was high. 90% of them tried to stop to smoke, but intention of smoking cessation was low. We need to motivate seafarers and increase their smoking cessation intention by regular education in available ways. From the study, we purpose that government will realign regulations related to ventilation facility and appointed smoking area on the board to prevent seondhand smoke, and the policy need to possess the regular survey of smoking status and customized smoking cessation education for seafarers.
The Total Pollutant Load Management System(TPLMS) in the Han River basin is being changed from a voluntary to a mandatory system. Accordingly, this study suggests directions and priorities for research that can support implementation of TPLMS through an objective approach that deploys gap analysis and analytic hierarchy processes (AHP). Gap analysis indicated that TPLMS in Korea is still focused on compliance with regulations, and that implementation of TPLMS is still in its early stage. Improvements are thus needed in flexibility and effectiveness, including introduction of emissions rights trading, and upgrading to a renewable emissions permit system. The AHP study indicated that R&D will need to proceed in parallel in multiple areas to improve systems and resolve scientific uncertainties. Balanced R&D will be needed in both the institutional and technical groups. Subgroup analysis indicated that developing a reasonable process to establish water quality management targets is of the highest priority in the institutional group. In the technical group, higher priority will need to be given to improving model reliability and developing innovative pollution load reduction technologies.

To establish an infrastructure for technology and information in the domestic construction industry, several construction regulations pertaining to construction information have been institutionalized. However, there are major problems with the domestic information classification system, earned value management (EVM) and project management information system (PMIS). In particular, the functions of the current PMIS have consisted of a builder-oriented system, and as EVM is not applied to PMIS, the functions of reporting, analysis and forecast for owners are lacking. Moreover, owners cannot confirm information on construction schedule and cost in real time due to the differences between the EVM and PMIS operation systems. The purpose of this study is to provide a framework that is capable of operating PMIS efficiently under an e-business environment, by providing a proposal on how to establish a work breakdown structure (WBS) and an EVM - PMIS integration model, so that PMIS may provide the function of EVM, and stakeholders may have all information in common. At the core of EVM - PMIS integration is the idea that EVM and PMIS have the same operation system, in order to be an activity-based system. The principle of the integration is data integration, in which the information field of an activity is connected with the field of a relational database table consisting of sub-modules for the schedule and cost management function of PMIS using a relational database management system. Therefore, the planned value (PV), cost value (CV), actual cost (AC), schedule variance (SV), schedule performance index (SPI), cost variance (CV) and cost performance index (CPI) of an activity are connected with the field of the relational database table for the schedule and cost sub-modules of PMIS.

To relieve Green-house Gas Emission is the key issue in urban area. Urban transport policies have focused on the reduction of private car use. The most common of these is Travel Demand Management(e.g., congestion charge, environmental tax, etc.) that forces individuals to reduce their private car use. An alternative way is Mobility Management(MM) that induces individuals to voluntarily change their car use through communications. MM is founded on social psychology theory and focuses on individuals' decision making processes to change their perception and attitude on private car use. Although some researchers have reported the relevance of MM approach, still few researches have explicitly studied on individuals' decision making processes. Therefore, the aims of the paper are to analyze the decision making process of individuals and to provide the basis of introducing MM approach in Korea. Structural equation model(SEM) is applied for the analysis of individuals' decision making process. A empirical study shows that psychological factors such as perception/attitude on global environment or individual norms impact significantly to reduce private car use and accordingly the relevance of introducing MM approach instead of imposing regulations or expanding transport facilities.
In order to control and manage oil-tanker scrapped materials and wastes properly, the actual conditions and global trends of the treatment and the management of ship scrapped wastes were surveyed and some amendments to marine pollution prevention law of Korea were proposed. Global annual volume of scrapped ships was estimated to be about 22 million DWT and most of them were scrapped in 4 major ship scrap countries such as Bangladesh, China. India and Pakistan and in minor ship scrap countries such as Turkey, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. The industry of ship scrap has been mainly developed in developing countries or undeveloped countries rather than in advanced countries. Most of scrapped ships were found to be small or medium size below 1,000 GRT In Jellanam-Do and Jeju-Do of Korea. Most of ship scrap enterprise and all enterprises of collection, transfer, treatment and disposal for ship scrapped materials and wastes were shown to be small sized in Korea. The regulations and/or rules which shall prohibit or limit trans-boundary movement of overage oil-tankers for scrap from Korea to developing or undeveloped countries, and vice versa should be Included in marine pollution prevention law of Korea. the criteria of manpower and facilities for enterprise of ship scrap, and for enterprises of collection, transfer, treatment and disposal of ship scrapped materials and wastes should be stipulated in marine pollution prevention law of Korea. It is desirable to introduce the system or concept of recycle or reuse of ship scrapped materials and wastes on producer's responsibility into marine pollution prevention law of Korea.

Domestic vehicle penetration rate is growing at 3% per year, but consumers are increasingly buying used cars due to steady price hikes Nevertheless, the used car export market is expected to decline due to import regulations of major countries and the low grade environment of Used car export complex. Therefore, this study using Fuzzy-AHP was aimed to find operational factors of Used car logistics complex and establish a practical management plan of Used car logistic complex in incheon port. Fuzzy-AHP is the method that can be calculated weight of multi-level criteria and change linguistic ambiguity of human to Fuzzy Number. So it's able to propose the realistic decision making alternatives. As a result of the literacture reviews, present study focused on the analysis of the present situation of the logistics of the used car and the activation of the complex, suggested the activation plan and activation of the logistics complex. In the analysis of operational factors, logistic complex cost factors were found to be the most important factors by recording the weighted value of 0.306 in the above factors. The detailed factors were as follows: rent, accessibility, and logistics site size. It is necessary to compute competitive rent for the highly-advanced used car logistics complex, and to realize the rental support policy and to consider designating the free trade zone. In addition, it is necessary to expand the access infrastructure and secure the scale of the company for overseas buyers, and it is necessary to improve the overall government laws and introduce IT system for the future.

As the social demands for environmental pollution increase and regulations on the dyeing process wastewater are strengthened, supercritical dyeing process has been attracting attention as an alternative technology to reduce wastewater and energy consumption. In the supercritical dyeing process where carbon dioxide is used as a solvent instead of water as a solvent, there is no wastewater generated. The unfixed dyes can be reused later which makes the process environment-friendly. Also, after dyeing process, dried textiles can be obtained without additional drying process, which makes the process energy efficient. In this article, we have summarized the development of the supercritical dyeing process along with the research in Korea today and compared the principle of supercritical dyeing process with conventional dyeing process. To further explain the principle, studies of the distribution factor and mass transfer of dyes in supercritical carbon dioxide and fibers, as well as solubility between supercritical $CO_2$ and dyes are discussed. The dynamic behavior of dyes in supercritical dyeing apparatus and summary of the supercritical dyeing facilities developed around the world are also discussed. Finally, we suggest the direction of research and development for optimization of supercritical dyeing process and application to synthetic fibers and natural fibers except for polyester.
Recently, governance of science and technology emerged as one of most important social problems and as a result it is crucial to understand it in science and technology studies. This article discusses three most important realms in science and technology goverance - research and development, regulation, and social movement - in the concrete Korean contexts. First of all, the Korean state has driven research and development and promoted its commercialization unlike other developed countries. Consequently, this nationalistic view on science disseminated to Korean public and it generated uniformity in research style and organization. Second, science and technology regulations embraced developed countries' policies, leading to its glocalization. As a result, technocratic old governance and new governance including precautionary principle and participatory democracy coexist. Third, the civil society has challenged expertise and state-driven science and technology governance and fueled social movements related to environment, safety, and health issues. The politics of knowledge created by citizens' voluntary participation and collaborative experts made it clear that science and technology should be no longer tool for economic development. In conclusion, we discuss characteristics of science and technology governance in Korea, giving various implication on current research and policy.
