With the popularization of autonomous driving technology, safety has emerged as a more important criterion. However, there are no assessment protocol or methods for AES (Autonomous Emergency Steering). So, this study proposes AES assessment protocol and scenario corresponding to collision avoidance Car-to-Car scenario of Euro NCAP in order to prepare for obstacles that appear after the emergency steering of LV (Leading Vehicle) avoiding obstacles in front of. Autoware-based autonomous driving stack is developed to test and simulate scenario in CARLA. Using developed stack, it is confirmed that obstacle avoidance is successfully performed in CARLA, and the AES performance of VUT (Vehicle Under Test) is evaluated by applying the proposed assessment protocol and scenario.

This paper presents a performance evaluation procedure for advanced emergency braking (AEB) system. To guarantee the performance of AEB system, AEB test scenario should contains various driving conditions which can be occurred in real driving condition. Also, performances of each elements of AEB system, such as sensor, decision, human machine interface (HMI) and control, should be evaluated in various situations. For this, driving conditions, road types, environment, and elements of AEB system were introduced. Test scenario has been designed to represent the real driving condition and to evaluate the safety performance of AEB system in various situations. To confirm that the proposed AEB test scenario is realistic and physically meaningful, vehicle test have been conducted in two cases of proposed AEB test scenario: subject vehicle cut-out scenario and narrow street turn left scenario.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop a scenario and to evaluate the students by simulation-based learning of acute abdominal pain case in an emergency unit. The expert group of simulation developed the scenario based on actual abdominal pain by medical treatment records. Methods : Scenario was developed to evaluate the simMan3G simulation-based learning. The scenario was used in 2013 with ten groups of fourth grade 50 nursing students who voluntarily participated in the simulation class. Results : The nursing students were able to express nursing knowledge, learning attitude and self-efficacy. The simulation-based scenario proved to be very effective to students' skill training. The performance of nursing practice through simulation class made the nursing students more confident with patient care. Conclusion : Simulation-based learning was found to be the most effective curriculum to the nursing students and made the students satisfied and confident. So the simulation-based learning would be helpful to other students including paramedic students and medical school students.
Background: Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) operates several nuclear research facilities licensed by Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC). The emergency preparedness requirements, GSR Part 7, by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) request protection strategy based on the hazard assessment that is not applied in Korea. Materials and Methods: In developing the protection strategy, it is important to consider an accident scenario and its consequence. KAERI has tried the hazard assessment based on a hypothesis accident scenario for the major nuclear facilities. During the assessment, the safety analysis report of the related facilities was reviewed, the simulation using MELCOR, MACCS2 code was implemented based on a considered accident scenario of each facility, and the international guidance was considered. Results and Discussion: The results of the optimized protective actions were 300 m evacuation and 800 m sheltering for the High-Flux Advanced Neutron Application Reactor (HANARO), the evacuation to radius 50 m, the sheltering 400 m for post-irradiation examination facility (PIEF), 100 m evacuation or sheltering for HANARO fuel fabrication plant (HFFP) facility. Conclusion: The results of the optimized protective actions and its distances for the KAERI facilities for the maximum postulated accidents were considered in establishing the emergency plan and procedures and implementing an emergency exercise for the KAERI facilities.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a scenario and evaluate the performance of paramedic students in head trauma simulation education. Method: This study selected a refined head trauma scenario that was developed by graduate students during class from september to November, 2010. Evaluation on implementation of head trauma simulation was conducted on seventeen paramedic students divided into four groups during November, 2010. Results: 1. The head trauma scenario was developed according to the patient assessment for approximately 10 minutes. It contained scene size-up, initial assessment and intervention, rapid trauma assessment and intervention, and decision of transfer. 2. The average time turned out to be 9 min and 36 sec after simulation learning. Total mean score in simulation performance was 2.20, the highest score was 2.44 in initial assessment and intervention, and the lowest score was 1.5 in decision of transfer. 3. Confidence mean was high with the score of 1.0. Conclusion: The finding of this study demonstrate that the simulation education can improve problem-solving ability and critical thinking, and increase the confidence in prehospital emergency care; therefore, simulation may be the new effective paramedic education strategy and simulation learning is needed for further development of various scenarios.
This Paper introduced a proper time evaluation for railway emergency response staffs using the Therblig Analysis. We defines what Activities the emergency response staffs should take when the fire occurs on the railway. This has been possible through the development of the scenario that is focused on the fire accident and it also has been driven to minimize the spread and damage of the accident. Gilbreth's Therblig Analysis has been used here to derive the reasonable time that would take for the emergency response staffs to respond to the fire accident on the railway system. We developed Emergency Response Scenario against Accidents and defined the Activity of the main Action for Emergency Response staffs.
Purpose: This study was done to develop and evaluate an algorithm-based simulation scenario for emergency measures for high-risk newborns presenting with apnea. Methods: A one shot case study design was used to evaluate the algorithm-based simulation scenario. Effects of the developed simulation scenario were evaluated using the Simulation Effectiveness Tool (SET) and the Lasater Clinical Judgement Rubric (LCJR). From March to November 137 senior nursing students completed the simulation using this scenario. Results: The eight-frame simulation scenario was developed based on the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and the nursing clinical judgment process. After use of the scenario, overall scores for SET and LCJR were 21.0 out of 26.0 and 32.4 out of 44.0 respectively. There were no significant differences in scores according to general characteristics. Positive correlation coefficients were identified among overall and subcategories of SET and LCJR. In addition, students provided positive feedback on the simulation experience. Conclusion: Considering that nursing students have limited access to high-risk newborns during their clinical experience and that newborns presenting apnea are common in the neonatal intensive care unit, the simulation scenario developed in this study is expected to provide nursing students with more opportunities to practice emergency measures for high-risk newborns.
These days buildings have more possibilities to occur construction delay as many variables and risks are inherent in them due to the enlargement and complexity. When a project is delayed, it generates extra working expenses and this causes a dispute between the employer and the constructor. Most construction sites conduct emergency construction work to recover the delay of the project duration. When an emergency construction is carried out in the actual construction site, it's necessary to utilize and distribute the proper working groups based on the procedure of successor and predecessor. Many constructions, however, have been going only with more number of work forces and working time. This study suggests a process management optimization plan with an application of emergency construction scenario by using linear programing.
