  • In the 2015 revision curriculum, software education must be conducted for 17 hours in elementary school fifth or sixth grade. Pre_service elementary teachers should be able to teach software. In this study, learning factors according to the achievement criteria for software education will be defined for pre-service elementary teachers. Pre-service teachers were taught by learning elements. As a result, the pre_service teachers were able to create teaching and evaluation materials for each learning element. It was also found that the pre-service teachers improved their ability to teach software education in elementary school based on these materials.

  • The importance of information education is recognized at home and abroad, and education policies are changing in the direction of expanding informatics education. Therefore, in this study, an elementary school information curriculum content system was developed by forming an expert group consisting of professors at the University of Education and the College of Education working in the Department of Computer Education and elementary and secondary information teachers with experience in curriculum development. Specifically, a content system was developed for the area of elementary school information education with linkage and hierarchy with the secondary information curriculum in the 2022 revised curriculum, core ideas for each area, content elements for each area, and instructional content for each grade level. Through this study, connectivity was secured in information education in elementary and secondary schools, and it is meaningful that the content elements of digital literacy were included in each content area. It is expected that the content system of the elementary school information curriculum proposed in this study will be helpful as a basic data for the development of certified textbooks and independence of information subjects in the future.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the elementary school students' level of computational thinking ability by analyzing the domestic question and examination results of Beaver Challenge 2017. Based on the results of the 'Challenge' results of Beaver Challenge 2017, the achievement by element, gender, and grade of elementary school students II (elementary school 3.4) and group III (elementary school 5.6) Respectively. As a result of the analysis, the achievement by the evaluation factors showed difference within each group. In addition, there was no significant difference in achievement according to gender except for one area of group II. The achievement level of each grade was statistically significant in the group III. The results of this study are expected to provide implications for the level of students related to what can be evaluated in elementary school information education and contribute to the follow-up research.

  • In the existing curriculum of the Elementary computer Education emphasizes students' problem-solving ability and knowledge of informatics. However, current computer education focus on using application program. In order to raise students' problem-solving ability and logical thinking ability, it is necessary to learning about computer science education. Thereupon, this study applied unplugged learning method to the elementary student. To apply the play-based unplugged learning method to the area of information representation. As a result, unplugged learning method produced higher academic achievement than the lecture model. Also it was more positive in the affective area than the lecture model.

  • In this paper, to instruct elementary programming concepts based on flowchart programming for elementary school students, we proposed sensor-based elementary robot programming PBL problems using line-tracer robots. Proposed PBL problems are designed to have various correct-answer algorithms. For this purpose, we present PBL-based robot programming instruction steps. Through applying the proposed sensor-based PBL problems using line-tracer robots, experimental results are analyzed in views of the problem-solving ability and suitability of allocating degrees of difficulties to the proposed elementary robot programming problems.

  • In this study, by using Entry text model learning, educational contents for artificial intelligence education of elementary school students are developed and applied to actual classes. Based on the elementary and secondary artificial intelligence content table, the achievement standards of practical software education and artificial intelligence education will be reconstructed.. Among text, images, and sounds capable of machine learning, "production of emotion recognition programs using text model learning" will be selected as the educational content, which can be easily understood while reducing data preparation time for elementary school students. Entry artificial intelligence is selected as an education platform to develop artificial intelligence education contents that create emotion recognition programs using text model learning and apply them to actual elementary school classes. Based on the contents of this study, As a result of class application, students showed positive responses and interest in the entry AI class. it is suggested that quantitative research on the effectiveness of classes for elementary school students is necessary as a follow-up study.
